I've been wanting more hexproof cards since the game first came out so I'm pretty psyched about this.  On the flip side I'm actually looking forward to playing against this as well especially against druids looking for a power ramp, will be fun to trap dance with.

An open beta for a f2p game is known as a soft release the only thing the beta still signifies is that the game is in not yet in a phase where they can comfortably call it done.

I'll put it this way you mentioned mtg when is a bounce card good?  Answer that correctly and you'll have your answer.

I can't tell if this is trolling or not but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.  If you're analyzing the rogue cards and ignoring the rogue's class keyword you're missing the point completely.  You can analyze those cards one by one until you're blue in the face but outside of a few obviously weak cards you're way off base and if you played the class you would see why.

it's painfully obvious that it's the open beta, strong vanilla cards are going to be back in general pop rotation now.

Late game it's very powerful as well if they have say 1 or 2 cards you can account for them and essentially put your opponent in a "top-decking" scenario.  It is a very powerful ability and like I said there's no reason to push spells like that when the game is centered around minions anyway.

Being able to see your opponents hand is a big big deal, I think if anything it should be limited to a random card or two but I would rather not see that mechanic migrate here from other card games.  Hearthstone has only 30 cards and in certain situations you could easily see 1/4 of your opponents deck and by default much more(do to doubles etc) and in the current state with limited cards you can fill in blanks with the meta staples.  I expect most new cards to be creatures, it seems like blizzard is doing a good job of learning from mtg's growing pains and realizing than in the end it comes down to the minions.  If you look at new magic sets its about pushing creatures more and more because spells quickly run out of room to be interesting.  Spells become redundant too easily or they become too powerful, minions on the other hand you can push too the moon because they will always be countered by other minions that are equally pushed.

I'll reiterate again this is not F2P in the sense of a facebook game or adroid/ios app.  It's a ccg with a f2p option.   I like others have spent the $50 on the bulk packs but have gotten many more from arena/dailies/grinding.  If you think this game is expensive and p2w it's not the game for you and that's not going to change.   IT IS A CCG, and compared to other games out there is dirt cheap.  If this was say magic the amount of money I would have spent for my boosters I have opened would be close to $700 not to mention that I got to dust myself into legendaries which is HSs alternative to secondary market which would be probably another few hundred dollars.  That's your free to play model working.  Wanting more than you already get in this game is your own personal bias wanting this to be a different type of game that it's never going to be.

I cannot for the life of my understand some of these changes -_-

It should depend on your playstyle and be flexible, rather than a must-have, which limits creativity and deck diversity. - Zeriyah

Are you serious?! The reason why decks are so lacking in diversity at the moment is because there are hardly any cards to work with in the first place! Release more cards before nerfing the hell out of cards like Novice Engineer where you only have two choices for a 2 cost card draw minion to fucking begin with. -_- As long as these nerfs keep happening we are just going to spin round and round in circles, moving on to the next "fad" deck until another nerf comes along, then doing the same thing again ad infinitum. There is hardly any room at all for players to be creative with decks at the moment.

You hit the nail on the head.  There's not a lot of cards and that is exactly why the uber balancing is going on now.  You have to try and balance baseline mechanics and generic keywords first before you can through out a set of 400 card with 3-4 keywords.  You balance out the initial stuff like taunt(which is basically where it needs to be if not a little weak) ETB/LTB mechanics and card draw.  Get those where they need to be and then you can go ahead and introduce new card sets with more powerful keywords.  It's how cards games work, they didn't always work that way, and it seems like people are hating on this game for learning from it's forebearers mistakes and avoiding the bulk of a new games growing pains in a BETA.

F2P is by no means a misnomer.  The game is indeed free to play and nothing is restricted from people that don't wish to pay a time, stop the propaganda.  But it's not only reasonably but fair to believe that a BUSINESS MODEL is there to make money and it's also fair to say that someone that is willing to actually play will get some sort of benefit.

If you think of card draw as having less cards in your deck and therefor not a great thing then I really don't know how to explain TCG/CCGs in a way you'll understand.  Card draw is generally looked on to be the best universal ability in any card game for obvious reason, in hearthstone there's no hard mill so it's even better.  I understand most of these changes.  Argent defender is probably the exception as it would have been better served going to 3/2 than 2/3.  The sylvvy change was for complainers, it's not as strong a card as people think its thoroughly a solid "good" card on average bouncing between great and shite depending on the game.  The nerf only really serves as a deterrent to it being playing in every single deck without nerfing the card into the ground.

posted a message on Changing Arena for the better

I originally was fine with extra picks to form your deck but upon thinking about it more the arena should stay as far away from constructed as possible.  It's the skill of picking cards based on their value and not of hopes of getting something to create synergy.  As far as arena being free absolutely not, in fact I agree with others that arena awards should be tuned down a bit.  Also I think if they had a draft mode then it should be a true draft mode that actually costs more than arena and definitely not free.

posted a message on This must end.

UTH and now this, what combo next?  I mean where does it stop?  The game should be about combos, the current card type set up doesn't allow for unbeatable combos.  All of these rush strategies are easy to beat and you do have a way to counter them,  it's not like someone dropping an infinite-loop combo on you where you're completely helpless, these combos require YOU to play into them.  I can't believe I'm about to say this and be THAT guy but the one thing that might make me and I dare say other experienced card players lose interest in this game is that if every time a combo deck arises in the meta it gets nerfed into the ground.  I mean it's a strategy game and people seem to want it to be mindless grinding for shiny things.
