I think that Blizzard want to give at least one spell per class in GvG and because spell are already kind of overpowered in Rogue class (because of the Auctionner), they deliberately gave Rogue a not so good high cost spell.
they deliberately gave Rogue a not so good high cost spell
gave Rogue a not so good high cost spell
not so good
How often does Rogue face more than 1 or 2 minions? Almost never... Although I admit the combo is useful against only 33% of classes.
I honestly sometimes can't believe how some of you people dismiss every single card just like that. This card have brutal potential for pure 2-for-1 value slash tempo play, and it's a great addition to rogue arsenal, without even thinking. Control Warrior solo Rag with weapong in hands? GG control warrior. Those motherfucking giants turn 4 - perfect answer.
Why do people always try to justify a rng card, because "it can hit stealth minions". So does Deadly Shot, but is it played....ever? nope. Because RNG sucks balls.
I happily play Harrison Jones as a vanilla than this card.
Harrison Jones is a good card because it offers card advantage - you don't just kill a weapon, you draw cards and get a creature. This card is potentially good for the same reason - card advantage.
It's also difficult comparing spells and creatures, particularly when discussing Rogue where a "spell" has greater utility because of cards like Preperation.
But if it's so good and offers such card advantage, then why does Deadly Shot never sees any play? Unless you play it just for the combo effect, and then it's a worse and more expensive Ooze, which isn't that great, too. In miracle, I don't know which card it should replace + it's situational and to "waste" a prep on a card, which doesn't cost 0 mana is not the brightest idea either...
Deadly Shot actually was played a lot before the Buzzard Nerf as another way for hunter to deal with Taunts (I think the rise of Sludge Belcher also helped push Deadly Shot out). I don't believe anyone is saying Deadly shot creates Card Advantage, but it can create tempo advantage.
There are a lot of ways for Rogue to use this as a slightly cheaper Assassinate. Rogue has a lot of removal to attempt to set this up for a big tempo play.

As has been said, Deadly Shot does see some play and has seen play in many legit decks - you'd see a single copy often when Hunter could draw tons of cards, as it offered lots of utility.
And yes, the card advantage I'm talking about is entirely to do with the combo ability - how else would one get 2-for-1 with this card? It cannot be compared to Ooze at all, as they are entirely different cards doing entirely different things for entirely different reasons.

Have you ever played miracle rogue?
This card doesn't fit in miracle rogue, in the same sense that assassinate doesn't fit in miracle rogue.
Anyway, when you play your Auctioneer you are usually behind on board, this card just wont work, plus, it cost to much (you want to cycle as much as possible)
I like the idea of combo effects that aren't strict upgrades to whatever the spell already does. However, the card effects are just so different from each other, yet they are on the same card. This makes the combo kind off irrelevant most of the time, since you probably played this earlier as removal.
The potential value is there. Its just the situations where you can actually get it are very, very limited.
This card is overpriced and too situational...only time you gain value if opponent has exactly one minion & a good weapon...not good vs Pally as they always have a dude out...Hunter has lots of low-cost minions as well...it'll probably has most potential against Control warrior.
Honestly getting really sick of the RNG cards......don't you guys ever wonder why Deadly shot is not used?
i dont understand how people can just dissmiss a card just because a similar card for another class doesnt get much play. Different classes work differently, Rogues dont have unleash + hunters mark, dont have 3 mana 5 damage kill commands or super efficients traps, so a card similar to deadly shot is a lot more valuable for rogues than it is for hunters. This card offers 2 great effects in one card, right in the mid game when your hero power starts to lose efficiency; its a huge tempo play against weapon classes (or blingtron users) at best, or a soft rng removal at worst...i really like it!
I'd be very interested to know how many players who currently bitch about RNG cards will spend dust to craft those same cards when they see the "pros" playing them on their stream.
you sir got that all wrong....
most people dont bitch about rng cause they are too weak,
but cause some rng cards are so strong that you have to play them (like rag) but ruin the game cause of their randomness.
When you say "it ruins the game" I'm thinking "it MAKES the game what it is" RNG has been a part of what HS is from the start and if people think it's "ruining" the game, then they should go back to MTG or whatever else has less RNG.
Deadly Shot is not used in a world where Hearthstone exist since yesterday, in a normal world, it was played a lot prior to Naxx Aggro hunter decks, in midrange hunter decks which where very popular both in ladder and tournaments, so stop telling that as an argument.

Yeah, I don't get this either. 90% of the posts on here have been either "Trash card. Absolute trash. Wouldn't fit in any deck." or "WTF!! Power creep!!". People should wait until the expansion actually comes out before being so pessimistic about it.
9 mana/2 cards for "kill random minion, summon a 3/4, and get a random weapon(1-sided)" seems like a strong turn. Esp. with the small chance of destroying an existing weapon too. has the potential for a pretty big board swing. I think the 1 extra mana is worth the opportunity to destroy a weapon, especially since cards like deadly shot/assassinate are rarely used on curve. great 1 of.
Personally it's a bad card considering its epic quality. its cost is too high for having a "random" condition making it too risky to play besides the combo effect is too situational since it only works against certain classes and NEEDS another card to work correctly, nonetheless I can see this card being used in some miracle decks... which is something rogues dont need... we need more viable decks other than miracle.
Im dissapointed with all the new rogue cards.... sigh
The usefulness of this card will depend on the quality of weapons in the new expansion. The current Miracle build sometimes runs swamp ooze -- I assume this will take its place in those builds.
The first few pages of this thread is funny. People are bitching because it's an overpriced Deadly Shot. However, imagine if it was 3 cost with the combo to destroy your opponent's weapon. That would make it strictly better than Deadly Shot since it would literally be the same card but with a combo bonus. At which point, you'd hear all the hunter's bitching how rogues just got a vastly superior Deadly Shot.
I guess I'm glad the masses aren't in charge of this game's balance. If it were, this game would be a train wreck.

Blingtron 3000 + Sabotage?

I refuse to come up with a creative signature.
That Blingtron 3000 synergy.
This can potentially have tons of value, calm down the negativity folks!

This is a very strange card.

It wouldn't destroy the ashbringer, because the ashbringer is equipped after the minion dies.

Blingtron 3000 + Sabotage. interesting combo. Also, I believe with the influx of weapons, this card will be much better.
