I just wondered why Sideshow Spelleater card still isn't played in "high-tier-decklists".
I believe it could be considered a pretty powerful and fun tech decision for Decks like Renolock or control warrior against pretty much every Control deck (because of the dks) , every Hunter (also dk) and every odd deck (I'm not sure about the interaction with even decks).
Have you played Sideshow Spelleater in your Decks and what experiences did you make? Why is it almost not played? Enlighten me!
To sum things up. The biggest reason why its not played is the fact that you want YOUR decks Heropower. Even decks want their Heropower. Hunter wants his SMOrc Heropower or his DK Heropower. Warlock preffers his Heropower over his opponents. Im not even talking about Warlock DK Heropower. Same goes for Mage,Priest basically any class ever. And Odd decks would prefer theirs as well if they could run the card. Why would you want a random one, if you want to consistently use yours trough Genn-Baku or Hero cards? Thats why it doesnt see play. Nor from competitive nor from tech perspective.
Thanks you're probably right but I wouldn't generalise you don't want your opponents hero power. The occasions are pretty rare though and the card would just be dead in your Hand.
Control Pally for example can't really do anything great with his Hero power and the DK could also be left out of some Decks.

Not really the case with Control Paladin as well. DK Uther is used either in Anyfin as a heal and burst or in Control Exodia as a main wincondition where you really dont want to change Hero Powers. Aside from that he is ran in Control lists as a solid card overall. Im not saying that its Hero Power from Control perspective is the best, but youre still gonna prefer your consistent Hero Power instead of opponents one most of the time.
I don’t play it because it’s 400 dust. I’d rather use my dust for a card that I will 100% play. I mean ideally, copying DK rexxar hero power would be nuts, but drawing it at the perfect time is kinda eh. Mostly because it’s an epic, but if it was a rare or common, it might be a different story.

I used it in Hand Buff Pally last year. It is a fun card, that really is satisfying when it wins you the game.
ive been thinking on using it but didnt crafted yet. Against rexxar and jaina it seems usefull.
