My fellow Wild players, it's been more than a month since I last played Hunter. I care relatively little about the class, and if I do, it's because of Lock and Load or Deathstalker Rexxar.
However, things have changed since Call of the Wild last saw play. With Warlocks using their improved Cube decks, Priests resurrecting massive boards by turn 6/7, Highlander decks dishing out endless board clears and Jade decks doing whatever it is you can call Jades that isn't offensive, it would seem this spell would no longer be as problematic as it was when it came out.
Blizzard has already reverted a nerf as Molten Giant moved to Wild Mode, so this isn't an alien concept any longer. Would you like this change? Would it not be enough to make CoTW see play with such a strong meta? Would it "OMG ruin Wild forever" for you?
And, to prevent unoriginal replies, I'll post them all myself right away:
Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
Oh, I doubt it too. I was just browsing through the collection and remembered this card existed.

I wish they’d revert Dreadsteed. Stupid for them to do it, it was wild anyways, and it’s nkt like the infinite combo it could do couldn’t be done with other cards
I would like this change. The card is cool (I really like the concept) but it is very weak at the moment in the Wild format. Reverting its mana cost to 8 wouldn't cause any problem, considering there is a lot of crazy and powerful stuff in Wild (as Morkimus already said). So I have only one question, where do I sign the petition? Hehe... :P
I dont know. I find the card annoying enough as it is at 9 mana. Its incredibly powerful. Perhaps if it had the “no minions” restriction then it would be ok at 8 mana.
It would also make an even spell hunter more appealing...
Yeah, I still have flashbacks about the turn 8/9 CoTW during Old Gods. But do you face this card regularly? The only time I've run into it during these last weeks was when a guy got lucky with his Rhok'delar.

Well in defense about 'changing molten but not WotW', molten's nerf was never about it being broken or OP. The only reason why they did it was due to it being in Classic and evergreen. It was before they thought up the HoF system. If HoF had existed back then Molten would've never been nerfed to begin with.
So it'll be much harder to decide to unnerf something that had been shown to be too powerful.
That and, the LAST time they made a change that benefited a card, it was Naga Sea Witch. The time before that was Unleash the Hounds. Nerfs, at worst, break a deck. Buffs can easily break the game, and have every time we've done it.

I haven't faced this card in Wild for a very, very long time and believe me, I have played a lot in that format.

I really don't think this card would be very strong for 8 mana in Wild, but your idea is very good. I like it. :)

"... but Blizzard is a small indie company :c"
"Blizzard hates hunter, so no."
"You should have added a poll."
"OMFG we just got rid of Naga Sea Witch!"
"Hunter player detected."
"It's Wild, so it doesn't matter."

I dont disagree with this sentiment but i doubt blizz would ever do something like this.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.

Yes, a while ago I would have loved it, but hunter is actually in a decent place now, and an 8mana CotW might break it, both spell- and midrange.
The last buff was updating the Beastpool of Hunter DK with expansions, which they did not have planned initially.
