You’re better off playing a big taunt like Sleepy Dragon this late in the game. That will heal you for 12 effectively and immediately. Also, you probably won’t get the 8 heal for a few turns because it’s not easy to kill off with 8 health.
This isn’t an anti aggro tool since it won’t heal you until turn ten, and it does nothing the turn you play it. This could be played in a Control v control matchup, but usually there are more greedy cards at 8 mana.
decent stats, I think woulda been better if it was a battlecry not a deathrattle as it'll probably get silenced and just become a 8 mana 8/8 do nothing, but then again still a big stat minion that'll need to be dealt with if you're not dead already.

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
Carnivorous Cube anyone? You'd have to play it the next turn. Unless it was removed (which means your opponent is giving you 8 health and wasting serious resources- all good things for you), you cube it and destroy your cube and bam +8 health, 2 8/8s on board with the option of another +16 health gain. Ya its slow but the potential health gain might outbalance it... I can see it getting played.
Too slow against aggro, it would be cool if it was 6/6 or 7/7 + taunt. Against control, well, you're either in control and don't need it, or you're gonna get busted anyway. Maybe cool for some N'Zoth decks that lack healing.
If it sees any play outside of arena I'd be surprised. Maybe a big rogue with Kobold Illusionist. Arena it is just ok. I think i'd still take the Violet Wurm or a big taunt.
if some sort of deathrattle control hunter would ever work in a meta, this card will probably be part of it. since there are also two new, cheap lifesteal beasts for the build-a-beast pool, it could actually solve one of the biggest problems of control hunter. not saying it will be strong in a competitive environment, but i feel like we are one step closer to the hunter archtype many have been dreaming of for a long time.
i would not be surprised to see a strong control hunter, if not now, maybe later in the year of the raven. i mean, combined with Play Dead this guy packs 16 heal, half of which you get immediatly. for hunter that is a lot.

I thought it was Battlecry for some reason. Well, it's way worse than I thought then
I also thought it said battlecry, if that were the case, it would be quite strong, way better than healbot. Maybe it still sees play as a 1 of in heavy control decks as a late game heal+big threat vs. other slow decks.

Super slow card, most likely not good enough for constructed, okay in arena.

Dark Pact makes this guy fast enough to use, but I'm not sure if healing myself is worth that much mana.
Perhaps one of these guys could enter a Cube Warlock deck, so that the healing can replace that of Mistress of Mixtures
The flavor of this card is weird, doesn't look like he'd be healing anybody what with the lion head and the thunders... Potions I guess, whatever!
Im disappointed. It's been 7 hours and noone yet made a Dr. 8 joke.
Bad, for 8 mana i need immidetly effect / Impact on board. Terrible in NZoth decks
In a Big deck with Recruit maybe (Silver Vanguard anyone) ?

He looks like a Ben Brode
If it was only a battlecry then this might actually be good.
ITT 8-mana 8/8 = 8-mana 0/1
stats are relevant yall

I could see a form of Big priest with this and coffin crasher.
