So, the easiest way to fix Doomguard is to make his Charge conditional on his discard battlecry actually going off. Problem solved! No more cheating him out... you want 5/7 Charge, you discard 2 cards. So elegant!
Instead Blizzard will a) Hall of Fame it or b) nerf it to a 2/4 or something :)
Indeed...If that ever happens it completely kills the deck People would just play the Control Warlock without Doomguards. Then if that is tier 1 people would be like ,,Change the warlock DK so it only resummons demons that you payed mana for and not cheated out,, oh and ,,Nzoth is too strong if it resummons multiple 9 drop taunts, it should only summon stuff that's X mana or less! ,, etc...When will people learn that there NEEDS to be strong synergy in this game for it to be fun? As long as this synergy is not broken strong ( like the soon to be nerfed Raza+Anduin or Keleseth + Patches ). You can counter multiple doomguard summons to a large extent by using transform effects / silence / weapon removal / taunts ... etc .
I was wondering if Doomguard is nearing HOF status. Would explain why there was no nerfs to the Cubelock package. Personally thought the Voidlord always gave me more trouble but the VL isn't so much the problem as the immediately cubing/saccing the cube is.

The unfortunate part is there is plenty of people who do.
Truth is, a lot of people want it to be Vanilla-Stone for whatever reason.
Honestly I'm tired of people bitching about the nerfs.
These were nerfs people were asking for for MONTHS, but all the community has to say about is, "Why didn't you nerf (Insert Card) too?!
If you nerf every good card in existence, sooner or later, Chillwind Yeti will be OP and need a nerf. The Slippery Slope is too much!
Sometimes I wonder if most people on this forum know what the term "OP" means. It doesn't just mean "good". Chillwind yeti will never be overpowered because it just doesn't do anything and synergizes with absolutely nothing. In the case of cubelock the extreme amount of synergy is what is overpowered, not the cards themselves in a vacuum. People only think doomguard needs to be nerfed because of this new synergies allowing it to be played without the discards. There's a reason why the card has that battlecry in the first place - a 5/7 charge for 5 mana is extremely strong and should have a downside. In cubelock it has absolutely zero downsides.
Yes you can transform their cubes or the doomguards themselves, but most players will only cube and let it sit there if they've already used up their dark pacts and have no other way to kill it left in their deck. In almost all games I play against them they only will do it if/when they have the dark pact in hand and the mana to do both so you can't do anything against it.

I agree. It is my assumption too (Blizzard Hall faming Doomguard).
VL is not a big issue, nor cubing... the immediate saccing is a bit but more importantly DK Gul'dan calling 4 to 6 doomguards is however... The key issue here is Doomguard because of the multiple mechanics (Warlock weapon, copying doomguards, cubing them, DK them) and the multiple uninteractive OTK forms which can follow... contrary to VL which gives you plenty of time to react.
If there has to be a nerf, it should increase the cost of the cube to 6 or Dark Pact to 2 (or both, worst case) to slow the deck down and make sure the 25 damage in one turn is not possible anymore. Doomguard is not problematic, nerfing/moving it to HoF would not solve anything other than force Cubelock players to play Control Warlock, and guess what, people would complain about that. And some talk about cheating out a five mana card as if we didn't have a deck which can put 2 10/10s on the board by turn 4...
I don't necessarily think it needs nerfing, but it has a long history of people calling it OP, mostly because back in vanilla, the only way to "cheat" the 2 card discard was to only have 0 or 1 cards in hand when you played it. Since then, there have been more and more ways to cheat it out, resulting in it becoming very very very strong (don't deny it, a 5/7 with charge is STRONG!).
I don't think cubelock is OP, I think it's maybe a little toxic, but it's combo, there is some counterplay and it has demons! So I like it. But, given the history of Doomguard I thought Dominatrix's card text edit was the cleanest change I'd ever seen to it.
But by all means, refuse to discuss something in a reasonable manner. Throw your toys out of the pram. Please continue.
I also do not think the card needs change, but I would like to see it HoF'ed. Taking Blizzard's previous statements about the charge-ability and lots of burst in a single turn into consideration, it could actually seem very likely. This would hit zoo and cubelock in standard, but considering the fact that zoo has been around forever and cubelock forces Spellbreakers in every deck, Blizzard probably doesn't really care about killing those decks in standard. Also you need remember a new expansion is released with the rotation, wherein Warlock will undoubtedly get some new tool to push new archetypes like discardlock etc.

???
So - is there a problem, or not? You posted a "fix" to Doomguard. A day later, you claim there isn't a problem, but you are nevertheless angry that people criticized the post you now disagree with, suggesting that they are being "unreasonable."
Christ. Is there an obscure Hearthpwn achievement you are trying to unlock?
Easy fix here guy. Change battlecry from discard 2 card to discard 2 card and gain charge. Or, delete the old battlecry and make effect: after doomguard attack, discard 1 card + make doomguard 5/7 to 6/7
Credit to Dominatrix for the idea (http://www.hearthpwn.com/news/4349-patches-the-pirate-loses-charge-four-card-nerfs?comment=124)

Doomguard doesn't need to be changed.

It’s fine as is
Dibbity don't touch that!

Nerf it!
No reason to nerf it. Start by asking yourself why you think it should be nerfed.

Join me at Out of Cards!
It took over a year but they choose a.
Doomguard is a fair card in a vacuum and cant be nerfed without destroying it entirely. HoF was the correct choice
