Usually on the turn 9 you need something more defensive with this meta, this card right now, is really bad. In late game can be useful, but you need to prepare the board anyway, or you lose. So, bad-bad. Bad in turn 9, bad in late game.
IF you play vs hunter and you can confident play this card in turn 9 on curve without getting kill in the next turn, guess what you’ve won allready. Vs rogue this may be the case.
Hunter is going to have a lot better late-game big plays in the new set, though.
I think this card fits well into some variation of Frost Lich mage. That deck kind of struggles with closing the game quickly. This does that.
Yeah, I'm counting 3 with Psychic Scream, Horror and Anduin. If you bloat a control mage's deck with 5/5 dragons, it's almost better than if you killed them :D
Highlander Priest is actually pretty bad against big minions once Anduin's been played. Psychic Scream buys time, but it's actually not that bad for the Mage to just play a 5/5 every turn. Either Anduin has to ping them down (wasting valuable resources) or you have to play a good amount of minions (which Highlander Priest doesn't).
And if the mage is stalling the game well enough (usually with Frost Lich) it can be hard to close it unless you get a really good Velen play. Though I think Highlander Priest does pretty well against Jaina just because he's able to starve her reasonably well.
Right now the classes to beat are Rogue, Druid, and Priest. Does this beat Rogue? Yes, provided they haven't killed you yet. Does this defeat Druid? No. Spreading Plague completely shuts you out of the finisher. Does this defeat Priest? No. If this deck ever became close to viable, Priests would save their DK for this moment and they also run Psychic Scream which not only clears your board, but makes your deck terrible.
I would love a Big/Dragon archetype of Mage to work, but it has zero chance until Druid and Priest become less dominant.
I think this is really good. Mage may have a lot of late game spells but nothing to really take control of the board outside of Elemental mage. I think if I can get this and Sindragosa together, a dragon mage deck would be totally viable.

This card alone isn't going to define the meta or even mage as we see it now, but hopefully it opens up options outside of the increasing amount of RNG that mage is relying on.

You only need to play two 5+ cost spells before playing this in order to get value, and I don't think that's going to be difficult. Firelands Portal already sees play, and maybe just to ensure value, you WILL run Deck of Wonders.

I wonder if Scroll of Wonder has an occurrence bonus tipped for new cards? If so, the new Dragon's Fury would make it horrible in a Dragoncaller deck. Blow 9 mana to summon a sizable board, to lose them all in an uncontrollable boardclear.
I really think the inconsistency of Deck of Wonders renders it to low-to-meme tier. You don't drop Yogg while winning, why would you use a card that mines your deck with 3 mini-autocast-Yoggs unless you are expecting to be losing at every point in the game?

ok hunter can actualy kill mage just with windfury Bearshark, i get it, but there are cases when you draw poorly and can't put pressure in time.
rogue might suffer from this legendary heavily

i actualy want to play her even if its meme tier on rank 20-15, just because of art. The golden version must be just incredible.
Same as Deck of Wonders. Mage seems like a lot of fun to play next expansion, even if it won't be very competitive.
