Yes! Evolve Shaman is back! I love the concept of evolution and I really wished Shaman got more cards to work with it, and now we have it. Hopefully more of the Shaman cards will tie into this new hero power.
It'll be subject to RNG, of course, but you can at least maximize your return by using the hero power on minions that derive most of their value from Battlecries.Moat Lurker and Bomb Squad turn into a great tempo swings with this hero power (Bomb Squad would actually be better than Firelands Portal).
No, you still can't use these cards honestly. The problem with this DK is that it wants you to build a whole deck around it, but what happens with your bomb squads and moat lurkers when the card is in the bottom of your deck? Rexxar hero power is a standalone thing, elemental mage can survive and hold its own until it draws frost lich because frost lich is a win condition, the deck is stable without it. This can't.
You think this dk will not work in the current evolve /jade shaman? Really? Like....really?
I know people are freaking out because of the uses on a current deck but you have to remember that we have seen a tons of cards that punish floading the board from KotFT, so evolve shaman may not be a thing in the future wich makes this card kind of useless in that case.
I'm glad that this isn't for freeze shaman, there is nothing promising about that archetype.
Hmmm... Maybe put a Nerubian Prophet and a Thing from Below on your board before playing this. Also, those cards would work well with the new hero power, since they're already 5- and 6-mana minions. Argent Commander might have a comeback with this hero power. 4 dmg charge attack, and a random 7-mana minion without battlecry for 8 mana seems ok.

Back? Did I miss something? Isn't token/devolve/evolve Shaman a tier 1 deck already?
Why is there people saying the card is bad lol? You get double evolve and 5 armor for 5 mana and the hero power is not the best but it's better than the current shaman one for evolve token deck 100%, you even get to choose which one to evolve (Yes you can cause it doesn't say random friendly minion) for 2 mana, you can get your board more dangerous 1 at a time while just spending 2 mana, you can even go turn 5 dopplevolve if you have coin in your hand then next turn attack with your 6 drops, play a little baby 1 drop and then Hero card and get 3 8-drops and 1 3 drop, that's preeeetty good if you ask me. Unless something terrible happens this card by itself is going to keep Evolve token shaman at the top of tier 1 and we still have to see 58% of the collection (78 cards left) in which a big portions are Neutral minions and couple more shaman class cards, so there is no way there is at least not like 2 or 3 more cards that make Evolve shaman even better. I'm praying right now this is either the card I get for free on the small adventure or one of the at least 2 guaranteed legendaries from my pre-purcheased packs because if not I'm 100% crafting this shit but it would be nice to save the dust for another good legendary or some more cards.
This card it is insane. It will be a shamanhearthstone game with this card. WTF are you doing blizzard. It is tier 1 evolve shaman you know? Now shaman will be the only tier 1.
Tier 0 shaman meta will back. :(
Well, this card is legendary, have a hope to beat shaman, maybe the player don't draw this card.
One of the big benefits of evolve is the fact that it is one mana and you can play a bunch of stuff on the same turn that you play it to get guaranteed value, that will be a lot harder with this card. Add in the fact that it is 5 mana to add only 2 to each minion and you need probably 4+ minions to make this worthwhile. After factoring that in then we look at the hero power which I don't think is all that much better than the standard shaman hero power, if it is at all. A 4 mana 4/5 with that effect didn't really see much play, and that is with no tempo loss. The card is bad in my opinion.
If you have enough minions on the board to make this worth it, is it really better to play this instead of something like bloodlust?
I don't think it's that good. If you think it's that good, you haven't played a significant amount of time as an Evolve Shaman. The kinds of garbage you get from Evolve all the time is off the charts, so this hero is a complete RNG fest.
The fact that it only costs 5 though is quite interesting.
so this is a good card, you kind of have to have minions live a turn to make this work, shaman does that often enough, I mean it runs bloodlust because it knows it can do that often. I think that really you want to dopplegangster evolve into this and hero power, or maybe hero power and this, not sure which is better on average, probably the latter because high cost minions have a higher chance of worse stats whereas three drops usually have vanilla stats.
This is basically a finisher like bloodlust is, a little slower but decent enough to see some play, especially if the deck is a tiny bit slower for the version with this.
This is so strangely designed. I thought every dk would push a new (in the current meta at least) archetype...druid --> taunt, mage-->elemental, priest--> ressurect, hunter--> control....shaman-->freeze evolve? Why push a tier one deck instead??
Needlessly wasted potential. Why? Blizzard? WHY?

> Push Freeze Shaman
> Shaman Hero has nothing to do with it
But seriously; this is such a win more card.

Time for me to start playing shaman, huh?
Strong Battlecry,bad hero power.

Awesome! Let's be prepared for (another) Shammy meta! And probably forget the freeze package... :(
12 wins in ArenA with: Mage and Paladin, first time legend with Rogue
I don't think this card is as good as you all seem to think it is going to be.

You basically just use the existing evolve deck but you take 1 Bloodlust out and put in this

Tortollan Primalist might be pretty good with this hero power as well. 10 mana for discovering and casting a spell, and getting a random 9-drop.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
