The Mage quest has looked really exciting and fun to play to me, but I hate crafting cards that end up being irrelevant in a few weeks. I have 5k dust and just set off the pity timer. Do you all think this card is going to have some staying power?
It's definitely not a safe craft. It could stick around, but it's such a specific deck that if you're concerned about whether it will be viable in a few weeks, you're much better off waiting.
I crafted it last night because it seemed safe to me. Right now it seems overpowered so if anything it would see a nerf of some sort before becoming irrelevant.

i'd say as of now it's just as powerful as the rogue quest. Both are extremely hard to counter, as if you get Mage quest done and can do the Arcane Giant/Molten Reflection combo you basically just win. But i'd probably give it time for everyone to figure out the meta and all. Craft what's fun to play. Personally I crafted Druid/Hunter quest because I think they're a blast even though they'll probably end up being low-tier decks.
However with that said, i'd be pretty confident in saying once the meta stabilizes quest mage will probably be low tier 1 or mid tier 2 deck it's just good
I think the Shaman quest is a safe craft if you already have Finja + warleaders and gentle megasaur as crafting the rest of the murlocs doesn't take much dust
It's probably the best current deck in control vs control matchups. Requires serious RNG luck like getting extra AoE stalls or a 3rd Ice Block to get to your win condition vs Pirates and Quest Rogue.

The quest is solid but the deck is tricky, ask yourself, like playing the old freeze mage? If yes you can craft for sure.
But the first priority is Primordial Glyph, any version of the quest deck cannot be played without this.
Safe in a "Definitely Tier 1" way? No. Safe in a "Playable and fun" way? Sure. Keep in mind that 5000 Dust runs out fast, and if the aim of your game is to win? I'd suggest waiting.
Thanks everyone. I've got the glyphs and my primary goal is a deck that I can have fun with (fun meaning winning at least SOME of the time). I'm not trying to get into 100 legend. I loved Freeze Mage back in the day, I think I'm going to go for it. Thanks!
Here's the thing. I played it for about 20 games and was 18 and 2 and was loving it. I beat some aggro decks and every single control or midrange deck I came against. Then I came up against all aggro decks and lost I think 7 straight. I love the deck and it has a chance against aggro, but so far all of these non-quest aggro decks are just wrecking too hard. If a big control deck comes out on top, this deck will easily beat it.
EDIT: Also for some reason people are playing Dirty Rat. I saw it in an elemental mage deck. I guess it's there to stop rogue quest but it completely screws you over if it hits antonidas.

No
I'd wait a little while if I were you, for the meta to stabilize, then decide..1600 dust is not easy to come by.

I crafted mage quest and lost to every pirate warrior and quest rogue at rank 10-6.

From experience I have only lost to quest rouge but I beat everything else. I'm sitting with 4800 dust and waiting for the meta to settle
Soul Parade :)

If you want to craft mage cards, craft 2x Primordial Glyph. This spell wil go into every single mage deck for the next 2 years.

If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.

If you like Wild, then yes. The quest is much easier to complete over there, and you can play the tempo-game while doing it!
