yes doomsayer is worth crafting imo , staple in freeze mage as well , don't think you 'll regret it. I don't think renolocks are good in this meta but i've played some handlock decks with doomsayer, the results were so so but had a lot of fun!Good luck!
IMO He's definitely worth crafting! especially because he is a staple in a lot of control as you have stated. Even in the future, if u ever want to play control he will always be useful.
[card]Doomsayer]/card\ Is a powerful good and used in many decks. However, none of those decks are really Tier 1 right now. Freeze Mage is arguably tier 2 though. Honestly depending on your dust / decks you normally run I'd maybe wait until the new season starts. See how the meta changes. If you're sitting on a bunch of stardust though and can easily afford it , go for it, if not wait.
I've been using Doomsayer in almost every deck that isn't aggro simply because it's very good in this meta right now. It either heals 7 damage for 2 mana or forces an awkward turn from your opponent, burning a Hex or something. And if it goes off it gives you tempo, which is awesome. Great card, definitely craft-worthy.
Doomsayer is definitely worth crafting. Such good turn 2-3 tempo card that forces your opponent to have terrible turn and to play mana uneficiently or to waste two or more resources just to kill it which is not worth at all, unless your opponents want board control desperately to prevent you from gaining your own. There is basicaly no secret mage in this meta , but in some situations when your opponents got some secrets from Yogg-Saron, Hope's End , its really good to check for Mirror Entity with Doomsayer, and if its copied at your opponent's following turn all minions on board will be cleared.Only real counter to this card is Stampeding Kodo . My personal best value multiple times was at turn 10 playing Twisting Nether and then Doomsayer to totally stop enemy's agression and board presence and create my own if they skip their turn.Since the nerfs of Big Game Hunter , Molten Giant and Call of the Wild there is not much other epics that are not played in this meta,so my opinion is that Doomsayer is really good two drop that either heals you for 7 or just makes opponents turn incomplete if they don't have ways of dealing with him or the best outcome for you is that they skip turn and you develop board control. Here is my renolock version of the deck that contains Doomsayerhttp://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/644678-renolock-brewmasters-detailed . Check it out if you want to see most valuable class for Doomsayer around .
Hello guys , i'm playing on Eu server for three years so far.I mostly like and play control type of decks. If you clear the board constantly , draw answers and stabilize is way more fun than just playing hunter and pressing hero power for fifteen turns . Anyways recently i started posting my built decks/theories because i'd like to share my ideas and to see other people's thoughts about them. Any suggestion/comment is more than welcome .
I don't have enough dust even for a Doomsayer right now (crafted Bloodmage Thalnos a couple days ago), but I will definetely craft one after your advice.
Also -don't punish me- but I'm having a really good time playing Priest, it's control is insane. But I have no Auchenai Soulpriest, though enough dust to craft both. So, is it Auchenai Soulpriest worth crafting as well? (I don't think so, but let me hear your opinions)
Any card is worth crafting if it's viable and you need it in a deck you want to play. Doomsayer and Auchenai both fit those descriptions so craft and go have fun!
I'd save up for the Doomsayer before the Auchenai, personally. You are relatively likely to open an Auchenai in the near future, but not so much a Doomsayer. Plus, as I'm sure you are aware, Priest kinda blows right now. If your dust is limited, craft the more relevant card.
I wanted to play Reno Mage, and tried to play a deck without doomsayer, but I finally just gave in and crafted him, and it's sooo good. Definitely a must-have for any kind of control deck.
I mainly see doomsayer in freeze mage. Some control Paladins and Warlocks also run it. It's a 0/7 taunt or you ignore it and go face and let both sides of the board be reset. I don't run doomsayer nor refreshment vendor. I used to play renolock but it's not working well in this shammy heavy meta, I just keep getting rushed down.

With the current Excavated Evil, Priests can still do well without the Auchenai+Circle combo. Auchenai Soulpriest is also a very situational card since you might wanna think twice when you are facing aggro decks. When it is on the board, your healing powers can't be used for healing and this could be very dangerous when facing aggro. I'd say that in the current midrange meta, Auchenai is not strongly preferable in the Priest control decks, thus, Doomsayer would still be the best options between the two.
So, I really like Reno Jackson's card idea and I was into building a deck with it.
I'm not sure how good Renolocks are in the meta, but I'm missing only 2 cards from Thaijs' Renolock: Refreshment Vendor and Doomsayer.
I wonder if at least Doomsayer is worth crafting since it's used in a lot of other decks (like Freeze Mage, Anyfin, etc).

Doomsayer pops up in some unexpected places. people started using him in midrange hunter for a while there.
yes yes and yes. It has a place in pretty much any deck that is greedy and doesn't start with a low curve. You will never regret owning this card.
yes
I have almost the entire Classic set, but never opened one of these guys... So yeah, I crafted not just one, but two.
Yes, it is worth crafting. The benefits that you can get:
- Save up 7 damage that could be directed to your face.
- Sometimes forces your opponent to use hard removals like Hex, Polymorph, Shadow Word Pain, etc.
-If it is not removed, you will definitely gain the first initiative to control the board next turn.
- Strongly effective for stalling when there is no minion or 1 enemy minion on the board.
- Widely used in most control decks and usually effective against aggro.
I crafted 2 of them and that was the best 800 dust i've ever spend.

Yess, he can save you a lot.
Yeah it's probably one of the safe Classic Epics to craft. It always seems to fit in a few decks every meta.
No more to be said, just craft it it saves life and stalls aggro, Don't craft if you like aggro minion decks
