I actually think this card is playable at 4 maybe even 5 except that may be a bit to far. Think of the card in a fatigue warrior deck. He will forever have a 2 damage give on the opponent at the fatigue game. Especially in a fatigue warrior deck they constantly have free floating mana. Turn 10 is sometimes armor up end turn. You could play this card and go face. Boom 2 damage ahead. again another 2 damage. again another 2 damage. It adds up and I think with Death's Bite going out it will see play. 10 damage can mean win vs lose in a fatigue game.
In Fatigue games you can just play Elise and spam Legendaries instead of using this trash weapon.
In fatigue games you don't normally play golden monkey till at least turn 17 usually later around once you have all the cards out of your opponents deck when you know they don't have any more answers. That is at the smallest a 14 damage gap if played on turn 10. To which it can be played sooner or later.
The real problem with Tentacles for Arms: The deathrattle says "return this to your hand" but you don't have a hand. After all, you've got tentacles for arms.
best post on this site.
I literally just figured that joke out now that you have posted this. I have been pondering this for days thinking he has been serious.
In the CW mirror, or even the Priest matchup this weapon wouldn't be so awful. So many Hero Power pass turns, especially when neither one of you is playing card draw or cycle cards.
I still think there's going to be some minion or spell that has some kind of interaction with weapons.

Would this work with upgrade? it does say: "Return this card to your hand", which might mean the buff remains. A 4/4 weapon for 5 mana with a "draw" deathrattle is pretty good eventually.

Riddle me this: I have billions of eyes, yet I live in darkness. I have millions of ears, yet only four lobes. I have no muscle, yet I rule two hemispheres. What am I?

Unfortunately no, returning it to your hand removed any buff the card has (as seen with Sap on a buffed minion). While it might not be bad in P2W warrior, it still pretty bad. (I can imagine Elise and then holding on this weapon until you drop the monkey and then you have a face hit permanently whenever you don't drop a legendary)

This is a valid point, if the weapon retains any bufs like Upgrade! or Cpt Greenskin it could be viable... though I think it would still suck.

Well you never know, if it does actually retain buffs (which i dont have much hope for after seeing Djjest3r's comment), it might be pretty strong in the scenario he proposed, if the meta slows down enough (even though it would require a lot of specialization of the deck).

Welp, a man can always dream... You are probably right, but I'm still trying it in friendlies if i get it out of a pack at release!

So, the real question here is. Will the card retain changes like Upgrade?
If so, and there was one other source to bump weapon value for Warrior, this one might be playable. Having a 3/3 deathrattle weapon could be legit and a viable win condition in Reno Warrior.
During today's final card reveal, I was crossing my fingers that there would be another just good weapon for warriors to replace Death's Bite: something in the 3-4 mana range with stats or an ability which are generally useful at that stage of the game.
Sadly, Tentacles for Arms is the only weapon we get (and one of only three weapons IN THE WHOLE SET), which is far too specialized for most decks. It looks like Arcanite Reaper will make its big return in many warrior lists.
4 mana would be ok for it, but it would still be awkward in the weapon position. At 3 mana it would be insane - I can't imagine Blizz ever approving that.
Yeah, 3 mana TfA would be busted. Almost as busted as a 4 mana 7/7 for 2 overload, 8 mana for a 5/4 taunt, 2/4 raid leader and 5/2 charge or two taunted druids of the claw for 7 mana. Good thing none of those cards exist though

True, but this is the effect of the deathrattle, it's not like a sap effect. I don't think it would, but on the offhand chance it did...
I'm trying to find a silver lining here!
