Just had a Rogue arena where I ended up with 5x Defias Ringleader. (and could have had 7!). Ended up going 4-3... (still a bit newish to arena)
What's your personal maximums for cards in an arena deck? Should I have laid off Defias? (in almost every instance he was the best pick out of the three by far).
Depends a lot on what hero you have, each class generally has a few OP/strong cards, Mage has water elemental and Fireball for example if I had 4 of each in my deck I would take it, taken a 5 fireball deck to 11 wins. I had 4 Unleash the hounds in a 12 win deck. On the neutral side chillwind Yeti. I'd take 3 or 4 if I could.
You could actually start a new thread asking which cards from which class are the best in arena and how many you would take. Don't be afraid to take many of the same card if its excellent. 4 angry chickens and you might struggle
Took 4x Swipe and 4x Wrath last night. Went 10-3, felt I misplayed a bit thinking "Chance are I'm just going to draw another sooner or later." I suffered a bit for lack of minions but I also had a Violet Teacher and power of the wilds combo in there.
"I am Richard, Chief Warlock of the Brothers of Darkness, Lord of the Thirteen Hells, Master of the Bones, Emperor of the Black, Lord of the Undead, and The Mayor of a little village up the coast."
Usually I'd auto-take 3-4 'OP' cards like Fire Elemental or Fiery War Axe. After that, I'd take those cards if they still fit the mana curve or if the other selections are horrible.

You can never have enough fire elementals and fiery win axes.
I went 10-3 recently on a druid deck that had 6 - yes SIX Swipe cards.
There are some cards that have no limit. I'd also draft an unlimited amount of fireballs, druid of the claw, argent protector (one time I got 5 of those and went 11-3 on a paladin deck).
For other generally "good" cards like say something like Water Elemental or Harvest Golem, I max out around 4.
Weapons are one card type that do get substantially worse with multiples. You're taking more damage with your face and you can never equip more than one. Had the opportunity to take 6 truesilvers one draft but settled for about 4 and still ended up drawing it too much or not enough. Rest of the deck wasn't strong enough to support it either. I played a funny game against a deck that was jamming mana wraiths like no tomorrow - actually was quite challenging.
In my opinion it's not a matter of "limit per card" but rather a "limit per mana cost". 5 Defias Ringleader are not good because you normally want 3-4 2 drops and the Ringleader is good only with combo (something a deck with 5 of them will not do so easily).
I wouldn't have a problem to draft 6-8 Yetis for example, since I want to play that many 4 drops. Removal is another thing ofcoarse. You can get as many wraths or fireballs or frostbolts you see.
Overall you should take the best card you see at least for the first 20 picks. At the 10 final picks you should adjust to make your mana curve as good as it can get and don't worry about multiples if they are quality cards.
Thanks for the advice - I definitely found myself lacking in late game, especially if I got a slow start (and went first). With coin + defies, I was strong from the beginning typically. Wasn't really thinking about the # of 2 mana minions .. probably should have been haha.

Four Truesilver Champions or Fiery War Axes; two or three of almost anything else.

cards like Swipe, or Fireballu can't have enough in a arena deck...
If u play druid, many ppl say ur success bases on the Swipes u can get!
It depends on the rest of the deck. But let's say that in your curve you have space for 5 minions that cost 4 mana... I would take 5 Chillwind Yeti. But usually the limit would be around 3-4 cards. Cards that I would probably take 4 of are Backstab, Water Elemental, Fire Elemental, Boulderfist Ogre, Animal Companion and Fireball. I think that's about it.

I drafted 4 Crusaders and 3 Harvest Golems and 3 Truesilvers today. Those are cards, i would gladly take 4 copies of.
Feel free to add me in-game. I won't bite. Probably.
