It's funny how people played few games and say that Rafaam is awesome (because they was lucky), and we should learn how to play.
Already played bunch of games, ~30 I think. Win ratio: 100% as KL, and not more than 20% as Rafaam. If you win as Rafaam, there is one of few reasons: - Your KL opponent is an idiot/newbie who play Haunted Creeper as first minion - You pray to RNGesus, and he listened to you - KL conceded without any reason
Simpliest tactic? As KL: - Do not play shit minions like Haunted Creeper, only nice legs. Revive them - Go face - Profit, 100% win ratio
And how to win as Rafaam? - Pray to RNGesus for fast draw hero power upgrade (play around Counterspell) - Pray to RNGesus for nice, useful legs from hero power - Pray to RNGesus for unlucky draw at start for your oponent, or newbie/stupid plays like Haunted Creeper - Maybe RNGesus will listen to you and you win some matches
Hope you will have more luck than me. Always getting shit from hero power like Sir Finley, Lorewalker Cho, Fjola, Mimirons Head, Gazlowe, Nozdormu etc. Even when I get nice card, KL have such strong board control, so this one leg can't do shit.
I've won as both, basically equal ratio. I get that some players can't win with Rafaam, the deck is harder to run. That doesn't mean there is imbalance in the decks, just imbalance in the skill of various players. People said the same things about previous pre-made brawls, but seriously, they play test these things and balance as needed.
Lol... I played nothing but the guy that summons 0/3s that deal 4 damage to enemy. That worked really well, until my opponent finally got his legendary piece and got TWO TIRIONS back to back. Yeah. Then I lost.

No. There is definitely an inbalance in the decks. How do I know? Because I havn't lost a SINGLE game where my opponent didn't draw the transform into pit snake card within the first 5 turns. Just mulligan for ANY good 3, 4 or 5 drop and keep spamming it until you win. It's really that simple.
If you can get board control against KT then winning isn't hard. If you don't, you get facerolled. After a few hours playing I actually find the matchups to be closer than I previously thought.
changing my opinion on this after another hour or so of games. if you don't play anything but strong minions as KT, Rafaam has no chance. Literally shit stomping Rafaam every game when I get KT
Kel'Thuzad's cards are just better. Simple as that. They do more and cost less. Massive Runeblade alone hits for 20 damage over two turns, and Rafaam has no taunt minions from his own deck. Heigan the Unclean and , [card]Gothik the Harvester, and Grand Widow Faerlina, Anub'Rekhan all cost 4, but should cost 6, and possibly 7 for Gothik and Heigan. Furthermore, even late game, cards like Patchwerk make quick work of powerful minions that you can get from the discounted legendary hero power of Rafaam.
I think Rafaam WOULD have a highly better chance if he had HEALS and TAUNTS in his deck.
I did win with Rafaam once, but it happened only because my opponent played Haunted Creeper into Mad Scientist, so his HP was spoiled with crap. But when KT starts with triggered shooter and you remove him (you have to, or they get clear win), then it's just HP-HP-HP until they drop a buffer per enemy minion killed. Or until you die, whichever is faster.
I really dont' think Rafaam can win vs. a Kel player that understands how to play his deck. It's quite lopsided. Rafaam needs more of the transform effect cards to be competitive.
So, Blizz. Throw a couple Hex and a couple Polymorph in there for Rafaam to even out the playing field, ok? You can take oiut the darkbombs and whatever else you like.
Rafaam is ok, you just go to 30 hp and then overwelm with hero power. KT player needs to be good to actualy get use of his hero power, Rafaam has to hard mulligan for staff pieces. I like this brawl a lot.
I just lost a game as Rafaam where I had board control in late game with 6HP left, brought KT down to 10HP and I had lethal, then he plays a minion that gives him a 5 damage weapon that did 10 damage to me? Does anyone know what card that was, I didn't get a chance to look at it from the defeat screen.

It's Instructor Razuvius (sp?). His 5/2 weapon deals double damage to heroes.

Horrible brawl. KT is way better, except when I get him in which case I get no early game minions and Rafaam has the full staff by turn 5.
The games take way too long. It’s obvious by turn 6 who is going to win, but then it just takes forever to get there. I guess they thought that people were earning too much gold from tavern brawls.
Played a couple tavern brawls and it felt like KT was vastly better. Came to the forums and expected this thread.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

If you won more as Rafaam then you probably faced bad players that play stuff like scientists and creepers.

There is a lot of steak here...
Rafaam has no drawing card, this is the main issue
Be there, or be squared!

Aaaaah, that would explain it. Cheers for the clarification.

Two thumbs way down.
Rafaam can own KT hard. I won all my games against KT.
