I have invested a lot of money in this game, so your idea is like if I invested in a certain stock on the market for $n, and the next day they are worth $0, maybe not an optimal situation?
You can practically get everything for free if you play enough. However, Blizzard doesn't owe you anything, people work for you to enjoy hearthstone and they need to get paid. The game is F2P but you can't expect to get everything without even spending time on the game.

Why do people vote no? (I am just curious, is it because you already bought it and finished it, and don't want any new players?
Because if all of the olds contents become free, I'll ask for a full refund. Hundred of euros. And I won't be the only one. This is nonsense.
Why? You wouldn't be losing anything.
Sorry for asking, but are you dense? Hearthstone is a competitive game. He bought those cards to gain advantage. If you give away those cards for free he will lose this advantage, which was the very reason why he bought it.
Make the (wild) packs cheaper and available for gold, increase gold gain for the first few wins. All fine by me. But this suggestion is horrible.

BUT OTHER PPLS WON'T LOSE ANYTHING IF I GET THE STUFF THAT THEY HAVE WORKED TO OBTAIN FOR FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Ah, cool. You're ableist too. Such a fun conversationalist...
Ableist lol
You cry that you want stuff for free, that you want to take the easy way, you mention dumb shit like ableist, you argue with people over wanting gains with no effort...fuck, US mentality personalized.
Honestly, it is disgusting, please take your shit somewhere else. Go protest in front of a uni or something

Poor and stuid, my friend, no help for those people
As "freemium" games go, Hearthstone is already very generous. With $0 and no collection, you can still play 4 different PvE modes (not counting Frozen Throne, because that needs some collection) as well as the ~50% of tavern brawls that don't need significant deckbuilding. For very little gold, you can play arena, which not only gives a great way to learn the game but also rewards packs which help build a collection. For 1600 dust, Whizbang gives you 18 different complete decks to try out, updated with every expansion. I'm no Blizzard fanboy, but if a new FTP player is having trouble finding ways to play, they're really not trying hard enough. Asking for more handouts (which they're unlikely to give) isn't the way to go.
Sure! While we are at it though, lets' have mercedes give everyone a free car. And real estate companies can give everyone a free house! And all the grocery shops can give everyone free bread and drinks!
Of course this is not going to happen. Just like Blizzard, they are all companies focusses on making profit so of course they are not going to give everyone that much free stuff. We are not living in a rainbow fairytail paradise.
Lol what? I don’t violate the terms of service. And what do you mean change their mind ? Making all the previous sets for free would be a terrible business decision, it’s YOU who needs to change their mind.

Selling accounts is not allowed, so they would probably never worry about decreasing the resale value of accounts.

Finally, I've been waiting for someone to give that answer. I figured it would come up, but I'm not interested in supplying the other side's arguments.
That's one of the only things that would be lost, an advantage by having a disparate collection. I'd argue that those advantages are very slight though. The amount of viable classic cards is very small. Most people have the viable ones. But yes, the advantage of having cards others do not, and them having to make poor substitutions, would be lost.
But, I'd argue that would make for a healthier game. If everyone has access to all cards, or even all cards in a set, then the only disparity is skill. I'd rather play in that environment. The whole gacha element of Hearthstone makes it a worse game, but maybe that's me being nostalgic for a time when one price bought the entire game.

Obviously they don’t care if my account loses value. The point is I’m against the idea for that reason.
I've paid for quite a bit of the Hearthstone cards and content, but at this stage to encourage new players to join, why not? Reward players with the set with dust or half dust values like HoFing cards and then make those old cards available for new players.
Agree that this will not happen though. Maybe when the game is on it's last leg, sure, it could happen. Now their is still money coming in, so this will not happen!
to all the people saying that if the cards will be free they lose money invested and it's a bad feeling or whatever
do you ask for a refund when a game goes on sale? let's say you buy the game on day 1 because you want to play the game on day 1 and you pay £50 for it, in 2 - 3 years you can buy the same game for £5, do you ask for your £45 back? no, because it would be ridiculous
it's the same here, when you decided to spend money on packs it's because you want to play them asap, not wait, f2p player will get them eventually too, why not make them free altogether so that they can jump in the game easier?
or maybe find a middle ground and make the classic set 1/4th of the dust cost and basically give even more classic packs away for free, there are tons of ways to do it, no one is actually saying that you should get all the cards for free the moment you create an account
What an awful idea. New players should just save for and craft Whizbang if they feel like they can't play enough decks.
Card games are expensive, deal with it. People complain that they can't get into a game because they'd have spend money? BOO FUCKING HOO, that's how things work. Goodbye, go play TF2 if you don't want to spend money on a game.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Why do people vote no? (I am just curious, is it because you already bought it and finished it, and don't want any new players?
i voted no bc it would devalue my collection significantly.
Your collection has zero value at all. You cant sell them and you cant trade them. You have the cards or you dont have them. If other players have classic cards or not doesnt devalue anything.
OK, i give up. The Hearthstone-community is obviously so toxic that they would prefer see this game dying instead of make it playable for new players. And yes: it is quite unplayable if you start today and dont want to invest a shit load of money
I agree the community is generally very toxic but you can't put everyone who disagrees into that category. There are some genuine concerns that people would have, disagreeing doesn't make you a fan boy or inherently toxic and suggesting it does completely devalues any discussion or debate because it just boils down to 'agree with my opinion or I'll abuse you for it'. That isn't constructive at all.
No one is right or wrong on this debate and there are some valid points from both perspectives. Ultimately, I don't think we will ever understand the impact it would have because we're not close enough to the data.
Ah, cool. You're ableist too. Such a fun conversationalist...

Poor and stuid, my friend, no help for those people
All cards are f2p, this thread doesnt make sense
The progession is what makes most games fun. Hearthstone would be the really boring if you had all the cards, strangely enough
As "freemium" games go, Hearthstone is already very generous. I haven't spent a dime on the classic packs so I'm all for giving all the cards out for free.
