It's a pretty strong deck. When it came into light last month I put it together (the medivh version) and it went well. It manages to buy itself a lot of turns to get the damage in, It's fun to play, though, and feels strong.
Replace 3 mana ooze with 2 mana ooze (f2p btw), meteor is not that essential, there are a lot of builds not running it (same goes for elise), but alex, second ice block and glyph are crucial for the deck.
According to the last VS meta snapshot the deck is T1 or high T2, depends on the rank you're playing on; but even high T2 is pretty good, it's a really competetive and fun deck so i'd definitely recommend trying it out if you can afford it.
what's your experience in playing Burn mage deck? I'm eager to try it, but I'm missing some key cards.
To be precize I'm missing Elise, Alex, one Ice block, Glyph, Meteor and Ooze (probably he can be substituted with regular Ooze).
That's about 4.400-4.800 dust...
I have about 6.500 dust overall and that kind of drains me to minimum.
Is the deck T1 or high T2 deck and is it worth it?
I already have Taunt warrior, Jade shaman/Druid deck, Mid hunter and Elemental Shaman decks, so I'm looking for somethin new.
Don't want to play Quest rogue and PW, so don't recommend that decks.
Thx in advance
It's my favorite deck right now. Elise is totally unnecessary. Alex is mandatory. Glyph is basically a staple in all Mage decks at this point, so it's just a craft you should absolutely do. Ooze is unnecessary. Meteor is good but can be flipped with another Flamestrike or Polymorph (it's used because it's a nice middle ground between the two).
The meta is always in flux (especially now). I'd say Burn Mage is tier 1, but that can change pretty quickly.
Yes I can afford it, what is substitution for meteor and Elise? I kind want to try Elise, because it seems very good card
Subbing them is a meta call, gotta adjust to what archetype is dominating at your ranks, you can add a polymorph, volcanic potion.
About Elise... some succesful builds piloted by great players are running it, but i feel like it's a win more card. Haven't seen elise packs doing much for them. You have a lot of value in your own deck. I might be wrong, but sometimes pro players are wrong about stuff too.
I'm having so much fun with Mage, it's ridiculous (winning a lot too).
To put it in perspective, if I'm playing for face/burn, I don't always use Alex, Meteor, Elise, or Ooze. Glyph and Ice Block are absolutely necessary though. Alex can be important, but think about your deck must be able to win without her (you can't rely on drawing her every match), thus you can definitely make it work without Alex.
If you're going the more controlish burn style, Alex and Medivh are necessary, and Meteor can be really useful as well. Elise I don't own, so I can't speak for her, but I've been winning a ton without her.
I would suggest crafting Ice Block and Glyph first, then play the deck and get a feel, then craft whatever else you need to fill the holes. As mentioned, Acidic Ooze can be a temp if you're seeing a lot of Warrior/Shaman/Pally, and Leeroy Jenkins is an excellent finisher if you have him. It's especially fun when you get a Molten Reflection from Glyph or Book, and can copy Leeroy for a cool 12. I've won a few games this way (not as effective against Wall Warrior, but that's usually an easy matchup anyway).
GLHF!
edit: I just wanted to say, before I get flamed for my comments on Alex, I'm trying to be budget friendly with the OP. Obviously get Alex into the deck if you have her, all I was saying is you should craft the other staples first - Glyph and Block.
You'd probably do fine with another Kabal Courier. It's flexibility make it useful in a lot of different situations, much like Primordial Glyph, albeit with a little bit less consistency.

Can you post your deck here if it isn't a problem. My main problem is that Elise can be used in many other decks, so I'm tempted :) But on the other hand, I don't have many staples like Patches, Leeroy, Edwin...
. Really solid deck. But have some trouble against hunter. Against quest rogue is a free win. PW is 90% win. And this doesn't need Elise, I think this card is unnecessary. You need spells from your deck, not pack with useless cards.

Hi guys for the suggestions, I Will give it a try, craft Alex, Glyph and Block (maybe meteor). Alex is a staple and classic so it won't be wasted dust :)

I imagine you could sub Leeroy for Alex, but you'd likely have to adjust it for the longer game if you did that (add some board clears or whatever). One thing I didn't mention in the write up: another reason I don't run Alex is because I've likely gotten them close to or below 15 by the time I have 9 mana. That should be pretty evident (especially if you've played the deck), but thought I'd point it out here as well.
We're talking burn mage, not aggro mage. Your list is basically copy-pasta of Hemet Tempo Mage with Leeroy instead of Hemet.
Oh, would you like to contribute to the conversation then? Or just needed to get that off your chest? edit: I see now that you posted earlier for helping the OP, my apologies. However, the statement I quoted I maintain was unnecessary and unproductive.
Burn Mage, Aggro Mage, talk about splitting hairs. Idk what "Hemet Tempo Mage" is, nor have I ever seen that played, but I certainly didn't copy-paste. Why on earth would you even want to destroy your deck instead of dealing 6 damage? Sorry, but that's just common sense; you don't need a deck list to tell you that (or rather, you shouldn't).
I'm sorry if Burn Mage is so different from Aggro Mage (what's the difference exactly?), I'm genuinely unaware if that's the case. Burn Mage imo is a Mage deck full of burn spells, which is exactly what I presented. You presented an unnecessary and unproductive comment. The difference between my list and the other "Burn Mage" lists is only the finishers. Others choose Alex and Medivh as finishers, I choose Leeroy and more BUUUUUUUUURNNNNNNNNNNNNNN for my BUUUUURNNNN deck.
I don't follow tier lists, pro players, top carbon-copy decks, watch streamers, etc. So if "Hemet Tempo Mage" is a thing, this is the first I'm hearing about it. The thing of it is, my Aggro Mage list only differs by a handful of cards from what others are presenting as a Burn Mage(mine's actually more budget friendly), so is it so far fetched that I would present my list? The OP did say he didn't necessarily want to diminish all his dust right now.

Nature is the Day.
Man is the Sun.
Woman is the Moon.
The Stone is the Sky.
The Art is the Way.
I was thinking about this deck: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/826259-burn-mage
What can substitute Elise ?
When you say "Burn" do you mean stalling until your opponent runs out of cards in their deck or using only fire based cards?
You'd probably do fine with another Kabal Courier. It's flexibility make it useful in a lot of different situations, much like Primordial Glyph, albeit with a little bit less consistency.
I've read somewhere that the deck I posted above is called Burn, so I named the title Burn mage :)
Never played freeze mage before. Got rank 3 from 5 last season with this
