Seriously, that card that fills his board on turn 4 is like CTA on steroids. He got a knife juggler and two 5/5 mech gnomes and just leathaled me on turn 5.
I know right! I had 3 brawls in my deck to hard counter the board fill of which I hard mulliganed for, then died 2 turns after not drawing a single one.. most aids monster hands down. pls nerf!!
The most bullshit in a single fight (at least for me) was the Amalgamate boss. Maybe it was just a sick draw on his side, but a perfect curve followed by 3x destroytheboardcreate30/30andfucktheopponentintheass spell almost broke me. Luckily I drafted like 4 Deadly Shots on my Shaw run and somehow managed.
Never had problems with Sezavo; never fought the Gnomenapper too (luckily i guess)
Him and Face Collector are the worst. Dude just gets 2 mana remove a minion, 2 fill your boards. If you can't field multiple minions a turn why bother even fighting him? Although its a little funny when he double Enrages a Stuffed Sack and smacks you with it.
Its even worse when you are using a lot of buffs. I got 3 Vicious Fledglings in my deck and thought I'd won. Then came THIS mothafucka...
That and the steal-all-your-minions chick. IDK HOW you're supposed to beat that... several ways of making your minions stealable no matter how big their attacks are, at least 2 full boardclears (I'm pretty sure she cast 3 on me, could be mistaken tho)
And of course Face Collector with his 3 drop on turn 1, 5 drop on turn 2, etc. His effect NEEDS a mana cost...
Monster Hunt is Dungeon Run bullshit 2.0. Eventually you may run into something that you have absolutely no chance to beat no matter how well you crafted your deck because fuck you. It's not fun, it's just frustrating.
Seriously, the first time I fought Gnomenapper, he got Rin on turn 4. Ignoring the seals, she's still a 6 health taunt and there were multiple other 3 attack minions behind her. I put up a minion and it gets "stuffed in a sack". Great.
Holy shit he's so cancerous. That board summon is absolutely brutal. I had a really cool deck and just got completely swarmed by him. I would have won except for the bullshit that is Rin completely shredding my deck and causing me to die to fatigue. Sick of having to play as Toki for that final win.
Created an account just to bitch about Gnomenapper.
Seriously, fight #7, so he had the 3 mana start, first turn Sorcerer Apprentice, was wondering where he was going, then 2nd turn... "WTF is this?" at first I was like "Holy crap you got Rin" then I realized the gravity of the situation, *concede* because fuck you Blizzard, I'm not giving you the satisfaction of beating me.
Although I personally think it was punishment for taking advantage of the previous boss, the one who gives spells Echo, turn 1 used Tess' power, no spells cast yet so I got a 0 mana deal 1 damage rock, drag drag drag drag x 50 or whatever HP he had, dead.
Every single run against this guy is an instant loss. 0/7.
Six salty dogs on turn 3 every game? Instant unavoidable removal through sack and silence for every minion played both before and afterward? Only to have him fill the board two more times in consecutive turns and use his hero power as a two-mana assassinate?
I mean, what's the strategy? You literally can't even highroll draft five primordial glyphs into flamestrike/blizzard every time because the mana disadvantage leaves you insufficient to use them.
Honestly was looking forward to monster hunt, but it's as though it was never tested before release. Run into Gnomenapper? Welp, start over. Fun right?
I managed to kill Gnomenapper in the first try using counterspell and then flamestrike the next time he used it. I chose that gnome treasure going into the final fight and that board full of gnomes really won the game(s) for me.
Ok someone plz tell me why does his "fill your board bullshit " costs 4 MANA ONLY? ??WHY BLIZZARD? O I forgot about the 2MANA DESTROY A MINION !!! FFS WORST DESIGN EVER ...
Last time I played and beat him he played the board fill on T4, T5 and T6. Only reason I could handle him was because I had two of the repeat a spell passives and used cinderstorm and volcanic potion to clear. What a terrible fight.
The stupidest thing about all that is that one of the possible gnomes is actually Rin, the First Disciple :D So even if you can manage to kill all that BS, if you are too slow, he just destroys your deck :D
I mean the fight is winable, but it's one of the worst RNG-reliant experiences for sure. More so cause the boss comes that late in the run and you can just lose all progress on a whim. I like that the Monster Hunt is not easy, but i dont like situations where you literally lose or not lose (not even win, just not lose) with a coin toss. I dont like "added replayability" via forced bad rng in games.
I was playing Houndmaster and thought the boss would be relatively easy, since I had the +2 attack for hero power dogs so i could destroy the sacks easily. Then comes the turn 4 N'Zoth, summoning him Toki, patient assassin among other gnomes, I destroy half of them, next turn same shit summoning a doomed apprentice and some other stuff... turn 6 shieldmaiden isn't the worst, but it's already too late. I can't think of many ways to defeat the guy when he's got so many crazy board refills, maybe Cannoneer if you fill your deck with Brawls, Primordial Drakes and Ravaging Ghouls but I completely agree with the other people here, the boss is very poorly designed and an autoloss to most runs.

On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
So I was playing as Tess vs Azalina Soulthief with just one Fan of Knives and one Backstab in my deck, I thought my run was over until i got a Shadowflame (idk how). Therefore I destroyed her board every single turn and won.
Next monster : Gnomenapper. I was dead on turn 6. Gnomes OP.
First time I encountered him, he summoned Knife Juggler as first minion that ended up poking out any board I have then 3 Salty Dogs at once. That variation is just stupid.
Seriously, that card that fills his board on turn 4 is like CTA on steroids. He got a knife juggler and two 5/5 mech gnomes and just leathaled me on turn 5.

Up till this point Gnomenapper is the worst, along with Sezavo as boss no. 2. No way to beat them...
I beat him using treasure spell which takes control of enemy minions and turns them into 1/1. Easy ride from there.

Gnomenapper, Vitus(or something like that with the +1+1 passive) and Face Collector all need to burn.

never feel this bad before, even with last boss.
I hate call to arm the most.
THIS IS THE WORST CALL TO ARM.

Yeah, I faced him once too, that 4 mana card is completely stupid

On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
three Handlock decks,
two Molten Giants
and a winstreak to Legend Rank #3
Disclaimer: This is a fictional poem and this didn't actually happen to me.
