Ok, so anyone who's ever played Deryl knows it takes a good bit of mental gymnastics to count coins, buy the right minions, sell the right minions, etc. to buff the minions you REALLY want to buy. God forbid even ONE of the minions you have to buy is a Zoobot or some other similar animated "buffing" minion, you have to wait for the purchase, card play, incredibly slow buff, AND the sale animations to complete before you can do ANYTHING else. This is particularly frustrating because the buttons to reroll or freeze the board don't work properly. I've built up massive minions to buy and either "lagged" my turn out with animations or, even more frustratingly, clicked the freeze button and it doesn't take because the animation is still going. Then, to take that last one a step further, clicking it again because you think it didn't take the first time UNFREEZES the board at the end of my turn because a button I clicked 5 seconds ago finally resolved. Even when you ensure you only click the button once, sometimes it freezes the board, sometimes it doesn't. Oh, and the freezing itself is yet ANOTHER animation. There's just too many animations for such short turns with complicated heroes. SIMPLE solutions can either be a toggle to turn off animations entirely, increased rope time based on the turn, or just more time per turn.
I don't think the turns should be longer since it they already feel long enough. Honestly I can only see the animations being a problem for people playing on phones since they can't react as fast - I have seen a lot of streamers struggle with the turn timer and I really don't get it as Battlegrounds are pretty straight forward. It is not rocket science afterall. I like Daryl, he is a good hero, but if people have low APM (actions per minute) then they probably shouldn't play Daryl.
Anyone else feels like the turns take forever in normal games now? I hope someday that they will make a format with like a 1 minute turn timer for standard.
The real problem is that different devices have different animation speeds, so people playing in high-end computers have an advantage over people on second rate machines. People on android devices are pretty much playing with a handicap.
This was already the case in regular Hearthstone with Nozdormu, but that only ever came up from rng spawns etc so noone cared. In Battlegrounds on the other hand it is a legitimate problem.
We're basically not allowed to play beasts because all the spawning and buffing means youre going to get 20 seconds or less for sure. One time it went from one battle to the next with no tavern sequence!
As of the Dec 5th patch, I literally can’t play any hero that requires any sort of thought process on mobile at all. I place top 3 in nearly 100% of my games on PC and rarely finish higher than 6th place on mobile. I rope out almost every turn. I have noticed that other players are “Leveling Up” while my combat mode is still going on. It seems combat animations are drastically shortening my length of time I have for recruitment. They really need to fix this.
Animations during battle are just annoying (poison), but during the purchase phase they can be utterly debilitating for certain strats.
It's not even like they'd have to turn them off completely -- you can convey the same information and flavor in a much shorter time. Those milliseconds add up!
I'm on a Samsung phone and Battlegrounds has totally slowed since latest update. Pretty much unplayable for me and I've tried closing everything, deleting cache, etc. No help from blizzard support. I experienced vastly different timer countdowns before this but now it's all cocked up. Sucks.
The poison effect was supposed to be fixed this patch, and wasn't.
Yesterday I had to concede a match where we were 1-2, mech vs murlocs, because the poisonous effect was taking so long to kill the microbots on my phone that I had practically no time between rounds.
July 6, 2020. Still terrible on mobile. Lost 3 games today because both battle mode animations reducing my buying turns and buying animations screwing any chance of < octogenarian APM.
Pro Tip: if you know there’s a big turn coming up with Darryl after battle phase starts quit the game, when you reconnect you will be in the tavern, you skip having to watch the battle phase
Since the last patch i have around 20 Sec per turn after round 8. Doesnt matter which hero i play. Rolling costs 5 seconds. Starting a fight makes me lose 15 seconds sometimes. Why cant we turn effects off? What are Blizzards arguments? I just dont get it.

I always get around 30 secs man... I am on Android. They shud fix this. Battlegrounds seems to be mobile thingy u know.
Btw I love the animations on/off idea.
A huge animation problem they should fix is Poison triggering on what would already be lethal damage... so absolutely unnecessary.
they should just make the timer a little bit longer.
Playing on Android = HARDCORE MODE.

Hello it’s very unpleasant to read your post. Try to make so paragraphs or what else..
I agree animation timing and how it works is debatable. Tho we are in beta so let’s just wait and see how it turns out? :)
They said they are going to remove poisonous animation with Dec 5 patch.

OTK players suck.

when they'll add skip card and hero animations
