I recently started playing HS a few days after the ungoro pack launched.
I have completed nearly everything the one night in Karazhan expansion has to offer except for that damn final heroic boss.
I have tried running multiple decks like cthun OTK priest but it seems that nothing works since all of the critical cards is from a previous expansion that I can't even obtain. This pattern is familiar when I tried out other decks. I also notice the un'goro expansion set has NOTHING to work withhe final heroic boss.
Is there a way to defeat the heroic boss using only standard post-un'goro cards?
Many used shaman with kelthzad and ancestrale call, i did it with a simple murloc paladin otk. Just stall the game, keep High Life, and don't start vs malcheezar before having both 2x warleader and bluegill dead. After that (and after you draw your anyFIN can happen) kill the orc, and when malcheezar wipes your board, play the first anyFIN (hopefully getting a Deathwing). You may still need more than One attempt, but it can definetely work
I don't know I won with an Animated ArmorCult Apothecary burn mage deck it is cheap and you can craft both animated armors if you want(although they are wild). It is probably the cheapest way
The problem here is that I just started playing and I have no wild cards.
Edit- After some research, I realized I need to reach to lv 10 with all classes first before crafting wild cards, eh learned something new.
Mmm, i guess that malcheezar can be defeated only with some crazy combo, otherwise i dont see how can you compete with two 6-6 popping out every turn. You could try with a quest mage (not exactly cheap for a new player: 2 legendary, quest and antonidas and at least 7 epics: 2 doomsayer, 1 (or 2) cabalist tome , 2 ice block and 2 primordial gliph). Vs the orc will be hard to survive, even with the ice block and the freeze card, maybe is better try to burst the orc with spell like frostbolt, medivh valet and fireball (if i remember correctly the orc has only 15 hp) and then stall vs malcheezar until you dont have all the combo pieces.

Funny enough, I happened to run a quest mage deck. I've tried it repeatedly but it cannot survive the onslaught of 3/3 charging minions while trying to get all 5 pieces.
On the other hand, I went and LV'd up all of my classes to 10 and crafted some essential wild cards and then promptly got the card back. Thanks y'all for your help regardless.

Wild will eventually become the cheaper format, the cards being in a crafting system means their prices never go up and down because the avaliability is always the same, it's not like trying to get a staple out of print card for the vintage formats in the stabilished tcgs, in hearthstone the cards will always be there, costing the same dust/money as they've always had, while standard will always force you to buy more once part of your collection rotates
I won with a Exodia otk mage, however the deck is pretty expensive and it relies a lot on rng. I did exodia mage more for flavor and I won in about 6 tries.

What many of you seem to forget is that you can't use wild cards vs the heroic bosses. Oh well, I guess I will wait till some OP cards come out again in some later expansions.
No, you can use wild cards..
Anyfin can happen is 200 dust, the rest are mostly classic cards, it's sadly the last heroic challenge next boss fights will be probably not too hard.. hope blizzard will recognize the fact that people want to struggle a bit with boss fights.
Geez, the OP has already stated he didn't realize he needed to hit Rank 10 before he could craft Wild Cards. That's why he said "unobtainable". Presumably he said that when it was literally uncraftable to him.

They can't be much easier than anything in Karazhan (besides the heroic free Medivh), the whole adventure is pretty much a walk in the park compared to the older adventures.
True, beat half of the heroics with patron warrior or zoo without modifications, free medivh was the only one who posed a challenge.. best heroics were in naxx after that they gone downhill with easy difficulty on them.

That's certainly a unique take on the situation. I have nothing against Wild -- in fact, I like it a lot -- but I would never say it's cheaper.
Getting cards with coins is much, much, much more cost-efficient than getting them with dust. Furthermore, every new expansion that is added to Standard is added to Wild at the same time.
Also, dust comes from buying or winning packs, so you're going to have to spend gold or cash on Standard no matter what you do.
Those of us who have been playing forever already have decent Wild collections from having bought packs of the cards back in the day, but for a new player it will take a VERY long time to achieve something similar. You did say "eventually," and I guess you really meant it!
(Fortunately, there are several mostly-Standard decks that can easily hold their own in Wild!)

but without some TGT cards, it is really hard to survive first 6 turns, you need perfect draw. I have tried for over 40 games, there are 3 games I successfully get my C'thun up to 30 and go into phase 2.
first time, die to twisting nether. second time, I do not know I have to save Brann. third time, I got lucky, the prince didn't have siphon soul.

i just wanna get that cool ass card back...

At least two cards you mentioned is wild cards that I have no way of obtaining, is there any known alternatives that a post-un'goro player could use?

You can craft the cards with dust, thats how you obtain them.
Control Mage can do it. Build a board vs the Orc, play Counterspell on the turn you kill the Orc.
Then go face vs Malchezaar while freezing his Board with Frost Nova and Blizzard.
The problem here is that I just started playing and I have no wild cards.

Kel'thuzad is only 1600 dust. What do you mean its unobtainable?
Hey all F2P players out there! Try out my 100% free deck before trying to call this game pay to win!!!

This exact deck ended many days of frustration on this quest for me, last week so post AI update. https://www.good-gaming.com/guide/1109
Ended up with a 132/132 old God to smash face with. It feels very satisfying. Best of luck.

Balancing busted cards version 1.0.
That's Incredible!
Yo, this isn't going to help you directly, but it is sort of a morale boost.
Back when I started, I had to go trough THIS bullshit to get heroic Naxxaramas done.
Took many, many, many many many tries. But if I did that you can do this.
My friends and I still refer to Sapphiron as "stupid dragon".

This is the deck I use and finally get over this annoying retard heroic battle.
Post WoToG cards, no TGT, no NAXX.
