Ladder was so horrible then because this matchup was polarising, and decided by whether or not the mage drew reno for turn 6. Pirate warrior was a joke of deck that really hurt this game for a while. It was bad because it put pressure on early and there were no viable answers (other than reno - and if reno was played, the warrior insta-conceded as it had no sustain).
I honestly thought we'd never see hearthstone in a state as degeneratively bad as that again - but desert hare into evolve has taken us there. Yes it's a temporary situation, I get that, but it's still intolerable. Thankgod for Battlegrounds is all I can say, and if you don't like the new mode, for whatever reason, I feel really sorry for you. You probably aren't playing the game right now at all, cause why would you?
There is no reason for the situation to remain like this, evolve should have been removed almost straight away, bringing it back, unlike the others cards, was a huge mistake (For what it's worth, I liked that you tried to freshen the meta with old cards, it was a good idea). Making mistakes is ok, but you have to correct them asap Bliz, I thought you were learning from past mistakes, not repeating them? React. React already, jesus.
I believe they did everything on purpose. Just think about it. What would have happened to Battlegrounds if ladder was perfectly healthy? There was a lot of skepticism about the new mode when it was revealed. People probably wouldn't feel the need to try it. The reception would have been much weaker. So they deliberately found a way to make ladder a terrible experience. One so bad that people would be desperate to play something else to escape from it. It's pretty clear that everyone is unhappy with the current ladder situation and there are lots of people complaining. The fact that they haven't done anything at all says a lot. Huge conspiracy theory but this is the impression this situation left on me.
My man, did you play this game last year? Evolve Hare and Kartut Zoth are strong plays, but it still allows other decks to thrive well, but Baku and Genn did not allow such pleasant experience.
It's pretty bad, but not pirate warrior bad. Some of us remember face hunter, undertaker hunter, force/Savage, etc. and this too shall pass. In the mean time, learn Holy Wrath paladin and farm those shamans. Honestly that deck is busted with Sathrovaar.
Come play wild. Here.. You will find a wide range of decks from Mill Rogue.. OTK Basilisk Warrior.. Exodia Freeze Mage.. Battlecry C'thun Shaman.. Spell Hunter.. OTK Mind Blast Priest.. Healing Zoo Warlock.. OTK Horsemen Pally.. Even some Murloc mages.. lel.

Play Aggro. Stick with Aggro. Go Face.No where else. Win by Turn 5. Control Decks are garbage.
Is ladder a new mode they've added to Battlegrounds? Sounds interesting, maybe I'll give it a try.
Unfortunately Shaman is really srewing up the meta in a big way, Evolve to be more specific. But there's only a couple of weeks left before those Wild cards go back to Standard Wild and things will hopefully freshen up with loads of new Dragons to play with in Dec. I can imagine ladder not being fun right now. Either play Wild or Battle grounds / Arena until the new set drops. Don't keep bashing your head against a wall...
Yes. Ladder sucks. The real question here is, when are we going to learn to just play something else, instead of everyone and their mothers feeling the need to write a post about it? Surely you must be able to play other games, or at the very least, a different mode?

Dad, husband, gamer, fueled by coffee.
Currently playing Dragon Galakrond Priest, Dragon Galakrond Warrior and Highlander Dragon Hunter.
It's not the worst it's been (and I've only been playing since frozen throne) but yeah as swing turns go, evolve + fleshaper + hare is pretty broken. And N'Zoth back in the meta is awful. I never wanted to see that card back in standard. Ever.
Join casual with MEME decks my friends! I have a blast with BigSpell Paladin, BigSpell Druid and Discard Warlock in Wild. Auto concede vs Priest btw, all other matches are fun.
ladder after Kobold & Catacombs (and during following year) was worse. cubelock, secret mage, spiteful priest & C. Autowin decks for paying noobs, unbalancement, clownfiesta ladder. i hope new expansion will not be another K&C

What mistakes are we talking about. Blizzard released some content, people bought it with money, later on they realised the Hearthstone isn't fun but continue to play and buy packs. Where's Blizzard's mistake here? All I see are players' mistakes, not Blizzard's.

Not that huge to be fair my friend: I think it is exactly how things went.
In my opinion, N'zoth is the problem. Faster decks that could handle evolve shaman get stomped by infinite value.
it's pretty bad but it's out in 2 weeks just go on holiday or jerk off like i do and then it's all good new meta hype

It's bad but there have been way worse metas.

Jade's, Pirate's, and Baku/Grenn were all worse, but its about Cubelock or Raza levels of bullshit right now.
It was on purpose. Why else would desert hare be a card? It's the only reason they put this in the game.

They don't care about meta anymore sadly, it is like this from K&C...
Never. Nobody has that much self-control.
This statement was pretty much said every expansion.

BORING, BORING, BORING! I WANT FUN IN LADDER
The goal of all life is death.
