Here is a theory about how Littlefinger faked his death. This theory is playing with my emotions, since Lord Baelish is one of my favourites characters in the entire series by far, and of course, I want it to be true :). Maybe some of you already know it, but for some reason I didn't until now.
Enjoy:
What do you think about all this?
(I want to clarify this thread is only for GoT fans. If you don't like the series, please, abstain from posting here, thank you)
Dany and Jon slept together and she will most likely turn out to be pregnant with him next season.... They confirmed that Jon is Lyanna and Rhaegar's son... I mean, the series has basically become fan service at its maximum.... I wouldn't be surprised if Bran turned out to be the Night King next season so taking into account all this I doubt the producers would be so smart to do something like this.... Also, for what it's worth, I found Littlefinger's death to be perfect.... I didn't expect him to die so soon but I like the way they did it.... He lost at his own game "outsmarted" by Sansa just cause she was Kat's daughter and the love he felt for her mother made him make mistakes he wouldn't usually make....

No, just no. Baelish is supposed to be one of the smartest and cunning people in the Seven Kingdoms, on par with Varys. Him being outsmarted by - of all people - Sansa, makes literally zero sense.
But that's Baelish from the books, not that blithering idiot from the series.
ehm, do u know the R+L =/= J? is for books only since the show already confirmed R+L=J
Never heard this, but I really have very little doubt that R+L=J is also true in the books. Also, am fairly confident Tyrion is a Targ and dragon head #3.
I liked Baelish and it wouldn't surprise me if they did bring him back, but I'd rather they didn't. Every person they bring back from the dead lessens the finality of death and weakens the power of the show in my opinion. One of the things I really like about Game of Thrones is the main characters can die with very little warning, so you feel that they are in real danger. When the show surpassed the books and started writing new material that has went downhill and I'm really hoping they don't continue that downward trend.
know the theory,if the writers of the show wanna save their rep this had better be the route they are taking... otherwise that death scene was just dumb:-/
I agree, probably the dumbest death scene in the entire series. :(

That's why I used quotation marks for outsmarted.... Obviously Sansa is nowhere near as cunning as Littlefinger (I think the only ones that can rival him are Varys,Tyrion,Tywin,Olenna and maybe Cersei).... What I was trying to say is that if Littlefinger has a weakness that is his unconditional love for Catelyn Stark and Sansa reminded him of her mother to the point of making him make mistakes he wouldn't have made with any other person.... I hope what I wrote is somehow understandable....
Petyr is probably one of my top three characters in the entire series. The very reason that Sansa has him "executed" actually pertains to a large difference in the books and the show. I'd recommend the books. Petyr literally tries to actually help Ned Stark in Book 1, it's greedy little Sansa that rat's out her dad to Cersei, which sets everything into motion.
If anything the seriously awful season 7 of GoT (the series is dead to me on TV, it was just so lame), pretty much communicates to the book readers that when Arya finds out the truth about Sansa...she will kill her. They should have done it in the show, but they spent a lot of time softening up Sansa (because the entire audience would have hated her, and probably not enjoyed watching her in the show over the seasons) and making Petyr less of a mystery, less pragmatic, and more into black and white villain. They did a great job with him in the earlier seasons, but they started simplify certain things, and pretty much as of now, the entire show is completely ruined in my mind.
Super excited about the final books though, and I hope they come soon enough.

I don't mind GoT, but why post it on a Hearthstone forum? No hate, just a little confused why you would post here instead of Reddit or something.
First, because I know a lot of people here really like the show. Second, because I don't have an account on Reddit. And third, this is the General Chat of the Off Topic section in the forum, so it is ok to post this kind of stuff here. :P
Figured I'd ask here since this is the first GoT post I've seen on any forums I'm on. So, I've watched the show, and I'm not generally a fan of rewatching/rereading things or going over content I've already covered, etc. Do you guys think it'd be worthwhile for me to read the Song of Ice and Fire books too? A big deciding factor would be if the story stays generally the same, and it can be seen that it will be in the future.
That is a pretty sweet theory but I personally hope he is dead. Yeah the death scene was weak but I hated that know it all douche. lol. I was so glad to see him get killed. One of the few highlights from last season. I love the show but man, last season was just so rushed and it was quite the turn off from time to time. Although, the scenes with the dragons were awesome as always.

One of the main reasons GRRM let D and D adapt the books in the first place was because they had theorized R+L=J correctly. Why then would the books be different?

The books are a 1000x better than the show, and up until the final season, the show was really good, with the first four seasons being great.
The story is generally the same, however the characters are given much deeper levels of development and the relationships between the characters are really complicated, as opposed to the simplicity (by comparison) to what the show offers.
The final season was pulling stuff out of it's butt in terms of the story because they were no longer basing it on the books, because they have yet to be published.
If you want the full story, a better story, and one of the best page turners I've read in the past 20 years (i read mother loads of books), then go for the books. The show will feel like it's black and white (evil vs good) in comparison to what the book offers. Plus, lot's more in depth character development, and the themes are much mature and complicated than the show, many things depicted in the book, would not be something that could legally film-able for a show or movie.
Read the books!!

Because tons of other fans figured that out pretty easily as well. It's alluded to frequently in the books, but no overtly stated.
The showrunners are hacks, but the did a good job with the first few seasons. The books are the real deal, Season 7 was one of the worst seasons of a show I have ever seen in my life. They delayed season 8 because they realized how terrible Season 7. I mean they ruined it. Show is worthless now. If they are smart, they wait for the book series to finish. If they are dumb, they rush the ending, much like the ATROCIOUS Season 7, which treats you as the "dumb indoctrinated to the series fan". They screwed up big times, and they are better off doing the "prequels" and teasing season 8 for years until they have actual source material to go by.
They messed up big time. Season 7 was a disaster.

Of course he's not... oh right, the show.
Very much alive in the books!

I never liked him, I was happy he died, sure the WAY he died was kinda retarded but he deserved to die
Don't mind me just passing by
He's dead in the show.
