It worked fine until platinum rank where I've started to lose most of my games. I can win vs most classes but highlander warrior really struggles vs plague DK which makes up about 50% of the ladder. I was just wondering if other people had the same experience.
Yep, im in D5 currently and it's one of the most prominent and frustrating deck to deal with, so I usually just play control warlock and rope the living sh*t out of plague players. Choosing an other deck is probably a better strategy but holding them hostage for 30 min while watching a movie is pretty satysfying ngl + I feel like im helping people with funnier decks enjoy the game .
There have been decks I've hated playing against through the years (I still have pirate warrior flashbacks). When I get one I try my best to steal a win and if I can't I'll take the L like an adult and move on with my life.
People will play what they want for their reasons - and part of that could be that they just like winning and prefer a better optimized deck. If your opponent is playing plague DK and you're roping every turn then only one of you is showing very poor sportsmanship and it isn't the DK player.

if you face so many plague DKs have you tried using some of your brain cells and tech in a steamcleaner?
This too.
Steamcleaner isn't an auto-win against plague DK, but it improves the odds by a very wide margin. In a control deck it's weird not to at least include it as an ETC choice.

Not to mention it's also a great card to play if you're using Sludge Warlock - because the Plagues shuffle your deck, so your "bottom of the deck" Sludges are no longer there for Waste Remover or Chaos Creation to target. Steamy nukes all your Sludges in your deck all at once (and cleans the Plagues out, too).

I tech Skuling Geist in wild and it's certainly the great equalizer most of the times but then there's just some games where they get ridiculously lucky with getting all of their shuffles + threat on board + drawing the plagues at the worst time + not drawing ETC etc. that it's not a guarantee. Overall though, it's actually pretty fun to play against Plague DK if you have the counter, if you let them shuffle the whole game and geist at the perfect time, it's just an insta win

Of course I have Steamcleaner, but in the losing streak I had today l had a really hard time getting any room to play it because they keep putting pressure on me. I used to be able to beat plague DK with it, but not anymore. You also have to wait until they play Helya, which they might hold on to because they know Highlander warrior has tech cards. If you had a little knowledge of strategy you would know this, but you prefer insulting people on pure assumption.
I used my brain cells to play something else instead and was more successful with Casino Mage. It's more proactive so doesn't get pushed against the ropes all the time.

There's no world where holding Helya is correct, because you just run the risk of getting ratted or theotar'd, and plague DK can always restock the amount of plagues in the deck after steamcleaner has hit. You're playing Helya to land the effect and the immediate highlander disable as soon as she enters your hand, which will then provoke a steamclean and then you repopulate the plagues.

You are correct. I'm just tired, but it might be better to wait with Steamcleaner regardless. It depends on if you need to play cards like Reno or Brann(and the plagues are disabling their effect). I mean, if you play Steamcleaner with only 5 or 6 plagues in your deck they will just restock with a lot more that you can never clean out. Before plagues are unending they are not an immediate threat.
don't even see that many plague DKs, still lots of mages and pallys or WLs or Druids or Shaman, some rogues too ..obviously if people face alot of Highlander decks they turn to plagues cause it is suppose to be a counter. But I made different experience, plagues are so slow that Warr can still kill them with Odin etc.
Well, I noticed I didn't have Aftershocks in my deck which is a very useful card if you face aggro. After adding it today I had a crazy winstreak of 8 games in a row, which took me to P3, and of them was plague DK. Of course it wasn't only about one card, but it helped in a few situations. Sometimes you just have a bad day in this game, while other days are good. Anyway, my conclusion is that Highlander Warrior can take you to legendary, as long as you are very careful how you pay against DK and Paladin(those are the biggest threats).

Sounds like you're wasting your own time too.

You sound like fun
I will continue until all plague and priest players dissapear no matter the cost
I thank god for plague players, if only to discourage the flock of sheep playing Highlander Warrior. God speed!

it sucks. Play XL Renthal Control. Everyone says highlander is OP...its not...it gets blown out by alot of decks
Control warrior is a very strong deck (I took it to legend last week) but ironically it usually loses to Highlander warrior.

And how do all of you ultra smarty pants tech against the flood of plague bots right now?
