With a strong 4 drop minion with a modest overload and a spell that removes locked mana crystals, cards like Earth Elemental and Unbound Elemental suddenly see a return to viability. Overload Shaman is a control deck that focuses on two synergies; building Unbound Elementals and playing ahead of the curve by overloading your mana, then clearing it with Lava Shock to push into strong late game finishers.
I'd prefer to run a similar deck like this in a crusher shaman style, much more defensive with a healing totem or heal bot. Might need 2 lightning storms if you aren't hyper agro and 2 hexes are necessary in any non face shaman deck. Earth Elemental is an extreme case of playing vs BGH, you can't run 1 because the opponents single BGH will kill it for value and all you have left to capitalize on is neptulon. You either run Earth Elemental in a deck with many 7+ attack minions to bait it out BGH early for safe big drops or you avoid them all together.
All that said I love the concept and am excited to see overload heavy decks. If the game is looking very agro centric maybe storm forged axe could see a 1 of play.
really nice deck but i would remove something for 2nd storm maybe a zombie chow. also i would remove something for 2nd hex because hard removal are going to be crucial now and i would add chromaggus. i mean really chromaggus should be in every shaman deck. draw a crackle get a second for free? thats way to good to skip in shaman where he lacks draw power. secondly if you have doomhammer as a finisher i imagine you should play rockbiters for 10 damage or more. basically now that i see that you already play al akir its better to remove the doomhammer completely. also dr boom > neptulon so i would suggest to replace him. if you replace like 5-6 cards i believe it would be very powerful.
turn 3 unbound turn 4 fireguard is such a strong play, but im not sure if shaman players will abandon feral completely as it is their best shot to keeping aggro in check.
I think Feral will be pretty weak in the face of 3/5 Blackwing Technician, so I'd opt for Defender of Argus instead I think.
If the meta remains heavy aggro then I think it'd be better to get the second Storm by swapping out a Bolt. One Bolt could even be swapped for a Lava Burst to deal with those 3/5s. Turn 2 coin Unbound, opponent plays 3/5 Technician, you clear it with Lava Burst etc. but that scenario is only clean when you have the coin.
I think that Malygos Shaman could also benefit a lot from Lava Shock and with a bit of reworking so as not to rely entirely on Maly it could be a strong overload burn-based deck, this being an overload minion-based deck - hence the Neptulon but as you say he could probably swapped out for Boom if it turns out there's enough overload to get value out of Unbound and Lava Shock.
I think you have very few card draw options (actually only Mana Tide Totem and Neptulon) and a quite low mana curve (especially considering Emperor Thaurissan which I think is useless in a Shaman deck of this kind) and you try to build some control cards too (for example: Zombie Chow) so want to win during longer games and these things together are no good. I also advise you to run 2 Lightning Storms and less Lightning Bolts!
Thanks for the feedback, have updated the deck a bit and added some more write up. It's going to be fun working on this deck, it's possible Shaman could be very strong, it has so much burn and Lava Shock could remove a lot of it's drawbacks.
My only issue with chromaagus is that he is so slow, and may be silenced or killed by the time you actually draw a card. We don't have a Warlock hero power, can't drop MTT on the same turn as this guy, nor Far Sight, nor Azure Drake. So you would need to get it on the board and have it survive without being silenced to be able to actually use it.
Well, I guess you could combo it with the 1/1 who draws a card. See, been so long since anyone used it I forget the name...
Neptulon is instant 4 cards, and if you have lava shock on a turn 9+ play of Neptulon, would have a full 8 mana to roll those murlocs. Neptulon is a prime candidate for lava shock value.

Agree 100%, I think Chromaggus is great in eg. Paladin, but in Shaman I don't think we should pigeon hole into BRM cards that won't necessarily be the best fit. For overload Shaman, I think Neptulon is.

Getting close to 1600 dust, don't know if I should craft Neptulon or Al Akir first.

I think the idea should be to consistently build your Unbounds and clear the Blackwing Technicians with burn.
But yes perhaps Doomhammer should be subbed for an Azure Drake because I don't think there's room for a Rockbiter.

I'm running an overload-themed Shaman deck for months with the Unbound Elementals (http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/169760-unbound) and I'm happy that now after the BRM launch it seems to become popular. Check it out if you want!
12 wins in ArenA with: Mage and Paladin, first time legend with Rogue
As stated above , it is better to go with a crusher shaman style on this type of deck ^^ , like the concept btw .
OverloadShaman : http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/217213-brm-new-take-on-overload-shaman
nice concept but yea i would add chromaggus too, shamans need card draw and its bgh immune
Chromaggus might be a good sub in for Neptulon?
