Back when I first started playing the first class I played was Shaman and I played them because I loved getting a Bloodlust out on a bunch of small minions and one hitting my opponent in a turn. For some reason I drifted away from the whole Bloodlust Shaman deck but I think it would be awesome to play again. If you have success with Bloodlust Shaman let me know how you put together your deck so I can create my own. Thanks in advance to those who reply.
Funny you ask this. I made a mid range deck that has been doing pretty well (blend of minions paired with both magic and melee combos (arcane golems), and started to realize that many games I end up with total board control, like 4+ minions on the board as we hit turn 8/9.
So many times I couldn't close it out!!!
So I removed one of the mana tides and added a blood lust.
Ummm YEAH!! In the 5 games since I made this change, I won 3 straight up from the BL.
Bloodlust is currently the safest win condition in my control deck. I would say almost a 70% of the matches I have won it's been because of BL, being the remaining a 15% thanks to Al'akir and 15% thanks to Sylvanas.
Interesting, I'm thinking of making a real control style deck because I have just recently finished off a Midrange Shaman deck that I currently love but I like trying different things so for my next thing to do I will be testing a control deck and tweaking it to my liking but I think I will add a bloodlust to see how it goes.
I always run 1 Bloodlust. I run into the situation in so many games where I have my fingers crossed hoping I draw it. I can't imagine not having one in my deck, it's so easy to get value out of.
I think that it would not be 100% viable to base a Shaman deck exclusively on a swarm of creatures/totems + Bloodlust, but...
How many times playing against a Shaman have you thought:"OH GOD PLEASE DON'T DRAW BLOODLUST, PLEASE DON'T, NOT NOW, PLEASE GOD NO" ?
As others mentioned, especially if you play a board control/ deathrattle deck full of resilient minions it's great to run 1 Bloodlust, it can be a game winner through lethal damage or simply grant you a massive swing that can clear the board.
I haven't gotten around to writing up a guide for it since I'm currently on an iPad and typing out a long guide here are not too kind on my fingers. However, the main strategy of the deck is that it can win 3 different ways without diluting the overall flow of the deck. It just works so fluidly that you can adapt to the current board state without ever feeling that you're getting too far behind in tempo that the game becomes unsalvageable.
Its 3 main kill methods are: Bloodlust, Doomhammer + Rockbiter combo, or Lightning Bolt + Lava Burst to the face (sort of like the Frostbolt + Fireball combos that some Mages like to finish with). The third kill method in particular catches a lot of players off guard and has gotten me a fair share of salty post-match friend requests. Opponents get too focused on keeping my board clean and building up taunt walls for a sense of security (if they sense an impending Bloodlust finisher), that they generally overlook the hidden threat in the cards in hand.
The deck plays like a cross between zoolock (the swarm of small sticky minions that trade up and maintain board control), and tempo mage (using spells as removal and using minions for face damage). You never have to fear about overextending or getting AOE wiped, since you can easily refill the board with 3-4 minions in a turn between the Haunted Creepers, Echoing Oozes and Feral Spirits. Nerubian Eggs and Harveys also help in ensuring there's always something left over in your board after a wipe.
I made the mana curve low and zoo-ish on purpose to get around the nasty overload effects. This ensures that you will never have any dead turns where all you can do is flip a totem. Thus, you can play your big removal / burn spells (or Doomhammer) the very moment you need it.
The most notable absent "staple" card is Hex. I feel that Earth Shock and Lava Burst cover for its absence quite effectively and offer much more flexibility, since Hex is generally used against big minions (which Lava Burst can address) or against potent deathrattles (which Earth Shock can nullify). I also feel that the taunt frog left behind by Hex means that one of your minions (or a Doomhammer swing) has to clear it instead of threatening your opponent's life total and getting him into Bloodlust / Rockbiter combo / burn spell burst range.
Whew! What do you know, I actually ended up typing out a strategy guide for the deck. Maybe I'll post it up on the decklist page as well. Add me up in-game if you have any questions. Have fun and keep winning mate!
Edit: Added a screenshot that perfectly illustrates the flexibility of the deck's win conditions. (Against a Zoolock, at that!) Match could be won either via Bloodlust or just the board damage + Lightning Bolt and Lava Burst. (Name of opponent was cropped out, of course.) Incidentally, this was my 500th win on the ladder. :)
i use a quite agressive all golden shaman bloddlust x2 deck that so far i got from rank 16 to 9 so far this season playing around only 30 games i ll put the deck in hearthpwn and join to that
so most of the objective of the deck is early game control with sticky creatures like the deathratlles ones. with cult master normaly it can draw me 2-3 cards, and with the loot horaders and the mana tide you are sure to at least do not run out of cards too fast.
the concept is flood the board with minions you can recover a body if cleared to assure bl potential
i change beetween 1x seas giant or one imp master depending of the meta. if bgh still rampant i use the imp for quicker recovery after a board clear (if unanswered alone with some totems it can make a 20 damage bl), but if the bgh is rarer so the nearly sometimes free sea giant is quite nice.
the burst is awesome. especially with the quite unexpected double leeroy. but it is not esencial if you do not got a leeroy on ahnd but yes the reincarnate using it in a nerubian egg to add preasure is also a good use of this card.
I like the Cult Master and Imp Master idea. You get optimal card draw and a steady stream of 3 attack kamikaze imps (when combined with a propely positioned Flametongue Totem) to trade with the opponent's board. Combo it up with a healing totem too, to make a bottomless imp factory if unanswered.
One question though: How do you protect your board setup? Cult Master's pretty fragile at 2 health, and the only taunts I see in your deck are the Feral Spirits (and maybe the taunt totems but that's subject to RNG still). Any particular reason you're not packing Defender of Argus?

i thinked a lot of argus instead of a earth shock i ttyed tonight and it works quite better. but most of the time i try to clear the baord and the cult amster i see it as a a gadgezatan , it gives me draw ehn it enters but i think it is going to get autokilled

Yes, as he says above, placing a cult master is only a good idea if you are going to get at least one card off of it that same turn you drop it. This means you need so have some minions left on the board. If you are kept to an empy board, it will sting you. That is the benefit of Mana Tide Totem, you are at lease guarantted a card. But a 4/2 on the board is a menace to your opponent, and he may lost a minion taking it out.
I can see running two cult masters as very valuable in these super fast agro decks.
i just tried a windfury deck two days ago and was about 50/50 on it. then last night i just started loosing by like 3 or 5 damage in ranked play, i switched Bloodlust and Illidan Stormrage for Windspeaker and now i am flying through the ladder. I think if you want to play midrange and possibly control, than bloodlust is really good to have in your deck. As stated above though, i think it is dangerous to focus on tokenlust solely.
