People're starting to play rogue again right now on ladder. The new deck with Sprint does quite good again midrange/tempo decks. May be Rogue is dead when this thread was posted but a good deck with rogue is found. And of course, the broken Miracle will never come back.
Miracle Rogue is pretty sucky right now, it's only a shadow of it's formal self and there are many other rogue decks out there that, in my opinion, trump miracle rogue on ladder.
This is my rogue I'm running, and when i first made it, it was just for shits and giggles I didn't think their was much damage potential from this rogue but I was mistaken. If you have watched hyp3d stream or have seen him in tournament you'll see his ' control rogue ' and I essentially took that as my base and 'fit' it into the meta (Took out all +7 attack because the vast majority decks are running 1 bgh and some are running 2 bgh).
Try it out! If you're wondering why prep without gadgeztan it's because tinker sharpsword oil, sprint, fan, and sometimes just to be able to deal more damage in one turn! The deck is pretty much a tempo control deck. Violet teacher is a HUGE threat for the opponet, tokens don't seem like they do much but that damage really does rack up.
Burst? TInker's sharpsword oil is 12 damage for 6 mana. 1/2 weapon becomes 4/2 and all your minions are, at lowest (including tokens) 1 attack; thus with bladefury it becomes 12 damage. You also have an extra 4 mana do sap/evis etc.
Conceal? This is a personal touch, you can sub. another sap (if you're fighting a lot of control it's recommended, but adding a conceal gives you a great chance to deal high amounts of damage the next turn. When you apply the kind of pressure it makes your opponent follow desperate situations!
Zombie chow: I place 2x of these buggers in almost every deck, now i don't reccomend that in a tournament but do it all the paladin, hunter, zoo, mech mage (the occasional shaman) I feel it fits ladder very well.
Ironbeak owl: What deck doesn't have a silence target? Undertaker, mad scientist, acolyte of pain, twilight drake, tirion, sylvannas, bolvar, Edwin vancleef, mana tide, flametongue, northshire cleric, dark cultist, malganis, voljin, archmage antinotis, savannah highman, gahz'rilla, ancient of war. You can even silence one of your minions that had gotten aldor peace keepered. (the list goes on)
Try the decklist I posted (right above yours). Violet teacher is actually an insane card and I understand what you're saying the low cost big minions, that's why I don't play them. Tempo is actually an insane varient in this meta and I'm absolutely inlove with it.
Rogues are definitely not the go to class anymore but we are still viable. I have currently reached rank 4 with a very strong deck i came up with the other day and i would like to share it with you. I think it works great in this meta due to its nature of being half tempo and half miracle. I think you should try it out and see for yourself.
Right now there are three very potent rogue decks:
1) Mech Rogue. Iron Sensei is probably hyper overpowered, and we're lucky that rogue isn't very popular because it would recieve a nerf.
2) "Control" rogue. Typical rogue with violet teachers, dr booms....
3) Miracoli. Bye bye leeroy, hello weapons. Put 1 assassins blade and when you combo it together with sharpsword oil oh gawd. that's some damage beauty.
I'm running a spell heavy control deck and it's doing pretty great. Similar ones have been posted before. It's difficult to play but it's super fun. You tag in a bit of damage here and there throughout the fight and then explode with a giant weapon play/blade fury. I've had a high win rate with it and I find it challenging and rewarding.
As a whole I find rogue just isn't very good at aggro, but they excel at board control. They certainly aren't a stand out class right now but you can really creep up on your opponents and wreck face right now with the right deck and playing it correctly.
Rogue is really strong. It just takes a lot of mind power compared to other popular decks in the current meta, which is tailor made for dumbed down rush decks.
Ah the "Rogue players are much smarter" guy, how are you? Been expecting you!
Hey, in the current meta it's true. It's control but you have to carefully use your own face to burn down creatures. Unlike the warrior there is no easy source of mitigation. Playing it isn't as mindless as Miracle rogue was where you just kept casting whatever card draw/damage cards you could to thin your deck. It's a lot more of predicting what's coming and disrupting tempo right now then before.
There are also no real "face" options for rogue. Any sort of fast aggro deck just works better for another class. The rogue early burn decks are based on flimsy combos and tiny creatures that are easy to take down. I don't think there really is a good rogue deck that doesn't take time to think through right now.
Yes, Rogue is one of the weakest classes as of now along with Shaman. I usually go with a mech themed Rogue with lots of blade flurry and eviscerates and I ususally just swing face like super duper aggro.
I can't believe people just keep on feeding you lol. You obviously care about this topic VERY much. At least it provides some entertainment to the people not following the whole thread lol.
Rogue is in a tough spot right now. You can be good with them, you just need to be smart with their removals. Me? I am not smart with their removals, and I fuckin blow at rogue right now lol. So I just did what I think most rational people would do, and I switched to another viable deck (currently playing a slow ramp and secret paladin that doesn't use a single Muster or Quartermaster).

Everything else I feel is self explanatory

@vikan: You're right, not one really good 4-drop rogue class minion, so I'm usually running Mechanical Yeti as my 4-drop.
