Can someone convince me that Xaril is a good card? In Maly rogue maybe, but im so tired of playing the same deck and its an awful tempo card. I wish they would have made the toxins cost 0 or give him +1 health or attack since, you know, class legendary.
Xaril is like Azure Drake for cheaper and grabs 2 cards instead of 1.
Azure Drake's been a staple since forever despite its subpar stats.

Yeah but azure drake also doesnt die to 1 drops and gives spell power.
Ive been thinking, maybe if it had Discover instead of Battlecry, it would seem to be worth the value and be better as a situational card. Amazing concept, and I hope that this card is actually way better in practice, but im just not impressed with this being a class legendary.
I have took another look why this card seems so weird to me. Its not only the fact that the body is weak to make trades on turn 4, but its that he seems too overcosted for what he does
4 mana card with a 3/2 body of a 2 mana card
it gives you 2 cards that cost 1 mana each to use, therefore it's basically a 6 mana 3/2 with say, 2 Blessing of mights added (+3 toxins) so if you had blessing of might in your deck somehow, you could do that same play on turn 4 (2 blessings on a 2 mana 3/2)
At this point youre esentially paying 2 mana to DRAW the toxins and not even play them and that is, if your deathrattle doesnt get silenced. I know it has to cost to draw them since youre not wasting deckslots but 2 mana seems a lot to me.
Dont get me wrong, I think this card has potential anyway and im most likely going to use it, but I cant help to feel like this card is over costed. Either the Toxins should cost 0 or he should be 3 mana in mu opinion. Feel free to prove me wrong, which I probably am.

I think, it's best to look at it like this:
Ancient of Lore is a 7 mana 5/5 draw 2 cards. Since a 5/5 is worth 4.5 mana, we can say 2 cards is worth about 2.5 mana (and Arcane Intellect values them at 3 mana, so that's about right). The toxins Xaril, Poisoned Mind gives you are essentially cards (whether Arcane Shot, Blessing of Might, or whatever else). This means 2.5 of his cost is to giving you 2 cards, while 1.5 of it is to giving you a vanilla 3/2 (which is about right giving 2 mana gives you a 3/2 with an effect).
Of course, just because mathematically it works out doesn't mean its balanced. The spells he gives are 1-cost which are probably pretty bad by turn 5, thought they also combo well with cards rogue runs like Gadgetzan Auctioneer. It's def. more a combo card than a tempo card, but it might not be worth if for combo rogue, leaving this card seeing not much play.
It's quite annoying how understated it is, because I think making it legendary balanced out giving it better stats anyway. Meh, unsurprising though this is like the same response to every Rogue thing lol "could've been sweet...BUT"
Yeah, that's the only reason to boost the stats. Everyone's comparing it to AoL but they forget about card rarity. That's a problem created with making some crappy (in stats) class legendaries. They might as well let us include 2 of them in each deck and decrease their crafting dust :(

I think it will be played, because most Rogue decks run Bloodmage Thalnos, a card that has terrible stats too (and also Azure Drake, but it has been said already).
This card will not be played in EVERY Rogue deck, like Tirion Frodring is for Paladin, but it's already far better than Trade Prince Gallywix or Anub'arak. Edwin VanCleef is a good legendary but is played in less than 50% of Rogue decks.
He is too big of a tempo loss to be played in a Tempo or Midrange deck ... so even if it comboes so well with Unearthed Raptor and Brann Bronzebeard, I'm not sure it will find a room in this deck. He would be amazing in a control deck, but Rogue is the far worse class to make a control deck, so forget it. He is great in a combo deck with Gadgetzan Auctioneer and maybe Malygos, and will absolutely be played in those decks.
Once again, Blizzard could have been nicer and give Rogue a GREAT card. But they just gave us a GOOD card ... it's already better than everything we got in the last 2 years.
Grand tournament gave rogue 9 class cards, 2 were pure rng (burgle and BtG) that didn't came to see much play, others were straight (and meh). In wotog we already saw 2 rng cards, even tho i liked huckster a bit, i am still not happy with this, hope the next (non rng) cards tease me better

I am scared... was always Rogue player but haven't played the class for more than 4 months or so :/ No motivation. I hope for good - fingers crossed.
(Would say something like "stay positive," but there is the BUT.)
Once upon a time, only goblins piloted shredders. These days, everyone from Doomsayer to Lorewalker Cho seems to ride one.
