I dont play Paladin, but for me fun means also winning the games. Climbing the ladder susscessfully. I would rather be rank 2 with strong and maybe less attractive deck than be stuck and rot in rank 10 with some funny deck...I ended up November as a rank 3 player and Im happy about it so I can simply enjoy the fun in this game. Of course Im sometimes playing also less strong and more fun decks, but only in Casual mode or maybe even Arena, but not for Ladder and climbing.
Could You try to explain to me, what so spectacular You find in ending with high rank while playing boring auto played decks? Yes it is fun for You to win and all. But why? What's your thinking process behind it?
You can't be that naive right? Winning is fun. I get that you're trying to belittle his way of playing the game, but it frankly just makes you look stupid. Let me explain his thinking process to you, as I'm sure you probably know as well: He likes winning. He enjoys beating people in a competitive environment. For some people, winning is more fun than messing around with bad decks at lower ranks. Different people, different tastes.
It only makes you look stupid and one-sided to think that winning is all that matter. And if for some1 it's all that matters then he's missing bigger picture and parts of having fun that are actually more relevant and provide more joy. Maybe you'll understand it one day. For some people it just comes later :)
I don't understand why you keep hanging onto this ridiculous claim that "winning is everything". Some people don't like playing with a shitty Pogo Rogue deck or Mecha'thun Hunter at lower ranks. You're going to lose a lot with those decks and some people don't enjoy losing 8 games just to have that 1 glorious win. That's why I said "different people, different tastes".
I like deckbuilding and some of the decks I come up with are terrible. But I can also understand why someone would like playing Odd Paladin or Zoolock. You can't say "Hey Odd Paladin player, play shitty non-meta decks because I think they're way more fun and they provide me more joy."
Spoiler alert: Odd Paladin player is not going to give two shits about what you find fun. He or she is going to play what's fun for them. So rather than making assumptions about people, just play the decks you want and let people play the decks they want.
bad winrate meme deck = every turn is so important, very interactive, IQ200 plays, so fun.
rank1 post.
Some people here are so odd. It's a competitive game, playing competitively is fun. So is playing meme decks. Some people will enjoy one, but not the other.
Playing competitively isn't even just about winning, it's about competing. Doing the best you can with the best cards the game has to offer against someone doing the same is a different kind of fun. When you're both playing meme decks, neither of you is really doing all they can to win so the result doesn't even matter.
i've been mostly playing evenlock without new cards, because i cant afford many new things, and while i dont doubt there are players playing odd paladin just to ruin the fun of the expansion i'm pretty sure there are players playing odd pala because they're on the same boat as me and can't really afford experimenting, but if i'm dead honest i was planning to craft odd warrior just to deal with the influx off odd rogues and i'm glad i didn't do it because i havn't seen an odd rogue in the last 4 days.
bad winrate meme deck = every turn is so important, very interactive, IQ200 plays, so fun.
Have you actually tried playing odd paladin? If there is ever a deck that would fit your discription of "tier 1 deck = autoplay, boring, brainded, not fun." it would be odd paladin.
I am not lying when i say watching Kripparian stream would be more entertaining that playing that trash. Fucking zoolock and token druid are leagues more enjoyable to play/ watch than "autists first netdeck"
Just made my first Odd Paladin today. In casual everyone I played against quit before turn 5. Very annoying when you're trying to play 100 cards for the quest.
not running a single new card when there is Saronite Taskmaster is pure stupidity and proof of how people just copy paste decks. I for one run a fairly copy paste deck of wild odd paladin but i include Saronite Taskmaster and Coldlight Oracle for card draw instead of Divine Favour. It has won me games vs aggro as i draw first and get to use those 2 cards and i have milled shudderwocks and renos and DK cause of it winning me the game on the spot. i for one im not a zombie tho i run a zombie worthy deck
The decks not horrendoulsy overpowered, though it is annoying. Let them have their fun, Odd Paladin is getting ripped to pieces on the next standard rotations. Most decks have 1/3rd to over half of the cards from the year of the mammoth.
So winning is the only thing that makes the game fun for you ? I just cant seem to grasp the psychology of it. If i were playing "just to win" id have quit a long time ago.
I'll get your point and I understand it. I don't play it btw but have lost very often... (hardcounter)
Personally I don't care anymore about other decks, it's a game.
Imagine that people just play to win because winning is fun. Otherwise the ladder-system could force 'em also to play the most refined decks.
Dude, this will/ can never change, even not in april. ALWAYS will on deck exist which get's called "cancer" either it's aggro, combo or control... ALWAYS
Umm...People play odd paladin because they want to climb ladder? That's one of the biggest things to do in Hearthstone? Also to everyone who says that Odd Paladin is "autoplayed and brainless" let a small child play it for you. Heck, let them play in Legend because its so easy. Also I want you to watch top legend match ups or tournaments; you have to play around board clears, healing, over extension, etc.
Finally, if no one played odd paladin, what would complain about? Druid and Hunter? What if no one play those? All this community does is complain about the deck that has the best winrate.
Sorry for the salt, but reading these posts just shows and all these forums leads me to one thing: If something does not go right, you will complain about it, whether it be RNG or a deck. These forums ALL have salt. Peace.
Hearthpwn forum logic:
tier1 deck = autoplay, boring, brainded, not fun.
bad winrate meme deck = every turn is so important, very interactive, IQ200 plays, so fun.
Put your spoiler here.
/thread lol.

Pretty much this.

Sightless Ranger is the only new card that I have tried putting into Odd pally.
OP, people are free to play whatever they want. If you can't understand that, can you at least accept it.

by the way, even warlock crushes odd paladin. It's my fav matchup. It also needs no new cards from the expansion..
To get in before the nerf, obviously!
