I know we hardly know any of the new cards atm but the reveal of the latest mech-cards made me exciting as a paladin player and I wanted to share my thoughts on the magnetic theme in paladin. In my opinion I would look at these magnetic minions as if they are spells. Best scenario is you have a mech-minion on board to buff but they can also be played as a minion which is an advantage compared to the classic buff-paladin decks. Now we only need good mech-minions to act as target for the magnetic minions.
We don't know the paladin magnetic minions yet but I just wanted to point out that Val'anyr + any magnetic mech minion is a huge deal if we can have sticky mech-minions on the board.
Wargear + Val'anyr would be a +9/+7 stats buff for 5 mana and passes the deathrattle over to the board minion which most likely can attack the same turn. Hitting face the same turn or trading off the minion to get a new Val'anyr is a huge deal.
Zilliax + Val'anyr is insane too. +7/+4 Lifesteal, Taunt, Divine Shield, Rush for 5 mana ...
Maybe I am completely wrong and other classes will keep outperforming midrange paladin in the next expansion but I think Val'anyr is a huge advantage compared to warrior/hunter magnetic-themed decks and Zilliax + Countess Ashmore + Val'anyr is a synergy which only paladin can pull off.
Im not too sure if it would pass the deathrattle tho, since it is not rly a keyword/ability in minion's card text you want to pass here, but a buff attached to the minion outside of the card's base parameters ... i could see it goin both ways pretty much 50/50 based on the coding and i could also see them forgetting this interaction exists lol.
I don't like magnetic theme in paladin. Seems another "grimy goons" experemental mechanic who can shoot or not.
Handbuff theme from grimy goons was very slow, weak and boring.. seems like they learned their lesson @ blizzard. magnetic looks more flexible but can it compete with all the recruit/shudderwock/DK abuse in the current meta is a different story
Peter Whalen + a Game Engineer I asked via reddit confirmed that a Val'anyr handbuff counts towards the magnetic-buff if you pass it over to a different mech and will be reattached via Kangor's Endless Army. Still a slow combo because it takes few turns to get the Val'anyr-cycle rolling but it is nice to know that it works great with mechs/magnetize.
Only problem I see is that silence/polymorph destroys the combo and with all the additional stats / divine shield via magnetize it is not always possible to kill your Val'anyr buffed minion the same turn via trading.

Upgradeable Framebot seems to be a great buff-target in a paladin deck. 1/5 stats are hard to beat if he gets pulled out via Call to Arms or is played on turn2 and Blessing of Might / Blessing of Wisdom / Blessing of Kings / Spikeridged Steed are always great on cheap low attack/high health minions.
Maybe I am completely wrong and other classes will keep outperforming midrange paladin in the next expansion but I think Val'anyr is a huge advantage compared to warrior/hunter magnetic-themed decks and Zilliax + Countess Ashmore + Val'anyr is a synergy which only paladin can pull off.
edit: Kangor's Endless Army reveleaed
Devs confirmed that Val'anyr handbuffs attached via magnetic minions will count towards the magnetic-buff -> reattached via Kangor's Endless Army

The Dev video was very clear magnetic would pass all stats and effects from the card. I think its a safe assumption that would include any handbuffs.
It would be a big failure on Blizzards part IMO if it didn't work this way.
That said with how extreme the meta is, there's not much room for a midrange deck to succeed this expansion.
I asked a dev (Peter Whalen) about Val'anyr + magnetic.
https://twitter.com/LegendaryFerret/status/1019976659741466625 -> a magnetic minion with Val'anyr handbuff will transfer the deathrattle + stats to another mech if magnetic is used.

If there's enough mech synergy with divine shield this could work. The mechs could survive various AOEs and even single target removal.
