I'm back again and this time with a more serious deck after trying to make control hunter/freeze shaman work, I decided to actually try and do something with a class that doesn't lack the tools (cough). So, I present to you my Kazakus Frost Lich Jaina deck.
Hopefully we can start a healthy discussion on the archetype below :).
Unfortunately, currently I do not have access to the tracker as I'm playing on a laptop that's not a gaming laptop per se, so due to lag/slowdowns I cannot use it. Once I'm back on my gaming rig, I will start tracking as always.
Results have been very promising!
Very important point I wanted to get across, we are not running the Quest, because then, you try to do too many things at once and the deck just gets lost.
If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to leave your valuable input below as always. Please keep it a healthy discussion. I'm always open to suggestions/ideas!
Looks pretty solid. How does it fair on the ladder? I made a similar deck but after playing non highlander mage a bit I decided against running. I'm curious as to why no Baron Geddon as he can be almost like a reno condition.
It fairs very, very well. Will post results once I'm back on my gaming rig where I can use the tracker, as this laptop can't handle it, as mentioned above. I like Geddon overall as a card. However, I found it very clunky. It can most certainly be included if the player wants, for me however, it's too clunky. Same goes for pyros.

Ah I see. Fair enough. I might have to go back and make mine again and give it a shot once on done tinkering with my miracle rogue deck and plague druid (not jade or aggro or malygos or ramp lol)

Interesting deck!! Let me know the results. Is Sindragosa a must craft for this deck? I'm missing only her. Is it worth crafting it?
Hey man, tnx! Well, honestly, she has really good synergy with the DK but I wold NOT craft her asap. Better wait and maybe you will get her from packs. I would maybe consider putting Baron Geddon , though I mentioned above it's a bit clunky, it can heal you for a lot once you've played the DK.
I don't see the point of this deck. While it does have a lot of answers (since you basically included every good mage card in it) wether you draw them at the right time is a totaly different story called Highlander 2: The day after Reno rotates.
Aggro will crush this deck unless you draw perfectly. Midrange will spit it up unless you can stop the snowballing with godly early draws. Control might be manageable since the deck is so greedy but then again it might not considering that before you get to the late game they will know this is a highlander deck and know exactly what cards to expect and can play around it.
To me it looks more like a love letter to mage and the legendaries you included. I don't even understand why you included DK Jaina in a deck that has less than half the usual early game minions/damage spells wich makes it very hard to be able to ping for frost elementals. This deck runs 6(!!!) late game legendaries and it's a highlander deck just so you can run Kazakus - it's the very definition of greed.
However, if you can, do prove me wrong and post your winrate and the ranks you are playing at.
I don't track currently on the laptop but I will once I'm back on the gaming rig. The ''ranks'' I'm playing at? I can post my legend proof and I either end up there or rank 1 monthly due to time constraints. Try the deck before spouting nonsense, please. I've got nothing to prove to you LOL.
Though I have not taken this deck to legend, the season just began so I started playing it at rank 15. You are wrong on so many levels that I don't even know where to begin. The deck is VERY good against the field which is aggro and jade druids. ''They will know this is a highlander deck and know exactly what cards to expect and can play around it.'' Is where I would usually stop reading. Here too I don't even understand why you included DK Jaina in a deck that has less than half the usual early game minions/damage spells wich makes it very hard to be able to ping for frost elementals.
Take a good look at the deck, play it for a bit and come back.
"Hey guys take a look at my deck! What? You are making points about how the deck is weak? How dare you! I cannot answer those points so I will stop reading and throw a tantrum"
I had a good look at the deck. I don't need to play it because it's basically any standard highlander mage deck since un'goro, give or take a few cards. And they never saw play. I have however extensively played reno mage in wild and have intensively tested cards like sindragosa and dk jaina.
I was too polite to say it before but after you acting like a whiny kid who can't take criticism, I'll say it now: This deck is bad. All you did was take the Burn Mage shell, remove one of every card(including pyroblast and kept frost ) and fill it up with legendaries and decent mage cards. Who cares if Alexstraza makes no sense in a deck that has to use their burn as removal. Who cares if Medivh only has 3 high cost spells to pair with wich will probably have been played as removal before you even get a chance to play him? Who cares if Sindragosa is too slow to ever see real play? Who cares is Frost Lich Jaina has very little way to generate Water Elementals and is essentially a 9 mana card, gain 5 armor, summon a water elemental with lifesteal and change your hairdo and emotes for the rest of the very short game you are going to get after you give up such tempo in a deck with no way to gain it back or reliable way to draw iceblock?
I asked for proof because I was thinking of the people who will look at this list and think "oh look this deck plays so many cool and fun cards and the guy says it's got a high win %! I'll craft it!" and will be cheated out of their dust. If anyone is thinking of trying this deck, only do so if you have the cards. Do not craft this deck - you will regret it.
I didn't mean to come off in a rude way. If that's what you think about the archetype, or if that's how it worked out for you, fine.
Lets assume you have the perfect curve - Jaina turn 9 into Sindragosa + hero power on iceblock on turn 10.
That means 19 mana spent for 2x 3/6 water elementals with lifesteal, a 3 hp heal and 1 random legendary in hand. So that's 8 mana in water elementals, heal 3hpand gain 5 armor wich lets be generous is worth 3 mana, lets say 2 mana for a random legendary (comparing it with elise's pack because there's nothing else that adds random legendaries to your hand) and an 8/8 wich I'd value at 7 mana. That's spending 19 mana to gain 20 mana in value but pretty much ignores your oponent's actions and board for 2 turns.
DK Jaina only make sense in a shell that allows you to go very long and that has a lot of spells and some low cost minions to manipulate your enemy minion's hp in order to make water eles. And considering that in that kind of deck you are sometimes holding on to dear life, I don't see how only one iceblock is enough to survive.
As for Alexs... It's played in highlander mage when you have either Pyroblast or Antonidas. This deck has neither.
(EDIT) Forgot the armor gain in the hypothetycal DK Jaina T9 followed by Sindragosa + hero power T10
The reason I didn't want and still do not want to get into it and start explaining a shit ton of things to you, is that those huge blocks of text are filled with things you think are right but are not. Stop focusing on math so much and actually try the deck. You have plenty of ways to generate water elementals and you have a decent amount of draw/generation of cards.
No, alex is not played ONLY when you have pyro or antonidias. It is most of all a defensive tool in this deck that will/can prevent you from getting popped or just heal you a decent amount. It CAN still be used aggressively if you have some burn put aside which is unlikely here. You're just off on quite a lot of things, bro. Instead of spamming here where people actually enjoy the deck and ARE contributing to the discussion, why don't you just PM me and we can have a long discussion if you wish. )

A copy of Counterspell can definitely be interesting in there too.
wrong forum
You will get screwed by aggro druid..
Looks good, lacking just too many legendaries.
Pls post results when you can, I am curious
Will do. You do not need some of them. Mage veing such a versatile class, you can use other cards. Can you share what you are missing?

What about inkmaster solia
