I don't feel like playing freeze mage against every heroic boss, so this is the druid deck I used to defeat heroic Thaddius in the Construct Quarter of Naxxramas.
He automatically plays Stalagg and Feugen on the first turn for free, except his versions do not have their deathrattles. When you kill them they still count towards summoning your own Thaddius so I include both myself. Dealing with those two early is very important to minimise damage taken so I took a number of cards to do this as quickly as possible: Big Game Hunter, Naturalize, and Innervate into any of Swipe, Leeroy Jenkins, Poison Seeds, or Bite will do the trick. I have also been able to get lucky with a Mind Control Tech after he played a Haunted Creeper.
From there the key is to stabilise the board. I cheesed and used Alexstrasza for the bulk of my damage but Thaddius or Deathwing should be able to do enough.
He has a few nuisance cards. He runs mostly overload shaman removal in Lightning Bolt and Lightning Storm, and has at least three copies of Sludge Belcher. I loaded up on silence minions to deal with these as well as Faceless Manipulators to copy them for a 1-for-1 as well as being able to copy stuff like Stalagg + Feugen (yours or theirs!). The Faceless could straight be replaced for Druid of the Claw or your own Sludge Belchers for a more budget version.
I imagine a paladin could also do well against the initial assault thanks to cards like Equality and Humility, but druid has straight up better minion destruction.
Good luck!
Doesn't really work any more nowadays. It's just too slow against the onslaught that Thaddius throws at me. I'm dead on turn 5 or 6 every time. Even the one time I managed to get 2 Thaddiusses myself.
if someone trying this in ungoro -2x big hunter +2x earthen scales works pretty well... mulligan for naturalize, innervate and feugen or stalag
Very good deck, took me several times, but beat Thaddius. Only thing needed some unstable ghouls as well as some healing. But overall good deck.
Won on 6th try, The best starting hand is Innervate, Big Game Hunter, Naturalize.
After i realised that i could win.
I got Innervate + Poison Seeds on T2 and he still fuggn rekt me
Took a few tries but once you get 2 x Thaddius's on your board your opportunities rise considerably!
All about keeping the board clear in order to stay alive as he rarely trades, other than via spells.
Awesome deck!!!
Hello very good deck,
I got the magic hand to start at my first attempt :
Big Game Hunter
Innervate
Naturalize
Turn two I destroyed the Stalagg and Feugen brother and played my own Feugen and controlled the game from there.
turn 10 I had Stalagg in play and Nefarian in hand all setup for a 11/11 and 12/12 on the board to finish him off
Easy win
Worked for me ! Thanks
i wish there was an update with gvg and blackrock cards...
Very nice deck, oneshotted it! Thank You!
Some cards what I've found useful: Healing Touch x2 (cheap enough, since it's a pretty short fight it was more better for me than Alex) & Emperor Cobra x2 (replaced Keeper of the Grove with them, cheap enough, Thad goes to face, so You can use cobra for the minion You want to remove).
won at 5th try... thank you
Got him on my first try. Feugen in my opening hand along with naturalize. Used naturalize to take out one of them, then Feugen took out the other and morphed into Thaddius. I managed to play a Faceless Manipulator on him and never looked back. I tried the Warlock deck with the undertaker a few times but I am guessing that the nerf basically nerfed that deck.
Not a fan of RNG? Give this Warlock deck a try if you have the dust!
Great deck man! 1st try! Was very lucky to get both Nerubian Egg, so I killed both his 7/4 with the nerubians.
My modifications:
- poison seeds(2), - sunfury protectors(2), - mind control tech(1)
+ wrath(2) for removal, + unstable ghoul(2) for one-shooting the 7/4, + healing touch(1)
Getting a good first draw helps. I lost my first couple attempts with this deck. It wasn't even close so I modified it slightly and got him on my second try. Giants bailed me out hard but getting poison seeds, innervate, egg in the first hand is an OP starting hand.
My mods:
-1 Big Game Hunter (I only have one), -1 Leeroy, -1 Faceless, -1 Deathwing
+1 Emperor Cobra, +1 Sylvanas, +2 Molten Giants
Cobra can get you a cheap out against one of his early minions, if not sunfury and giants are very easily combo'd within a few turns. It's not a fool proof deck but you can definitely get a win with it.
Worked First try. Got an insane draw with naturalize and owls and other stuff. Ended up with two thaddius and a molten giant thanks to a previous posters recommendations. smooth sailing all the way to victory with those three on the board. Best tips I can give is to save your silence for the right time on the belchers and make sure to trade efficently. He has cards that can buff his minions health and they can get out of control real quick.
I also recommend removing the deathwing and alexstraza, u really dont need them. the molten giants are way way better
Took a few tries, but it worked well once I had a Naturalize and BGH in my starting hand. It helps if you keep track of how Polarity Shift is going to affect the minions that you put on the board as well as the minions that he already HAS on the board (eg. knowing which Feugen or Stalagg is going to have 7 attack the next turn, so you know when to play BGH).
After getting a Thaddius on my side after suiciding my Feugen into his, I was able to Faceless it a turn later and the rest of the game was more or less smooth sailing. However, even with the 2x Thaddius, I still had to maintain board control and not just go for face constantly, so I ended up trading them into his minions a lot. Agree with deck-author that it is really important to save those silences for the Belchers, I would have missed lethal if I didn't silence a Belcher in time.
Thanks for the deck and the win!
Got it on my first try. Opening hand was Innervate, Poison Seeds, and Nerubian Egg. Did nothing turn 1, turn 2 I used Poison Seeds, turn 3 I played Egg, 4 was Owl on his coined out Sludge Belcher and my 2nd Egg. Turn 5 was Stalagg, turn 6 was Faceless on my Stalagg, turn 7 was another Ironbeak Owl and Feugen. Turn 8 was my second Faceless on the Thaddius that had been summoned from one of them dying. I ended up having 4 Thaddius on the board all at once.
I know I got God draws, but it still worked.
feels like a bad joke to simply succeed having a decent draw ... thanks for the effort poster
