Not me playing just so you know :)
Hello Hearthpwn!
My name is PyrohManiac and I am somewhat of a casual player who has played hearthstone for over a year, and have focused on Rogue throughout that time. I love playing rouge since it always makes you think, and takes true intelligence to play at a high level. I am not a Legend player, but I have reached high ranks before. My goal for this year is to create a perfect rogue list that will help me get to legend, and this might actually be the one!

1. General Strategy
In the early part of the games you are looking to keep the board as clear as possible. Use spells and removals like Backstab and Fan of Knives to clear low health minions. Now is also the time where you are looking to develop some Jade Golems using cards like Jade Swarmer and Jade Shuriken. When you reach turn 4 you are left you decide whether you want and can play a Jade Spirit or a Tomb Pillager, and this depends on the situation. If you feel like yourJade Golem isn't that strong, you should probably play Tomb Pillager, especially if you need the coin to either make a play with Gadgetzan Auctioneer or to develop another minion(s). On turn 6 you should almost always look to play Gadgetzan Auctioneer to look for the cards you need to win the game (Leeroy Jenkins,Aya Blackpaw, Edwin VanCleef (that is if you haven't developed him already). Now you can start using Conceal in a combo with Leeroy Jenkins, Gadgetzan Auctioneer or a large board with strong Jade Golem.
2. Mulligan Guide
In rouge the mulligan is probably the most difficult out of all classes, since it's so dependent on match-ups. You should always look to keep Backstab, Jade Shuriken, Jade Swarmer, Fan of Knives (sometimes, only if you are against a real aggro deck ex. Pirate warrior). If you're feeling risky, you could keep Edwin VanCleef in a combination with Preparation and another spell (ex. Eviscerate). This is against aggro ^^
Against more midrange/control match-ups you should look to keep Jade Shuriken, Jade Swarmer, Tomb Pillager, Unearthed Raptor (with Jade Swarmer).
If you're feeling risky you could also keep Edwin VanCleef and Preparation.
3. Tips & Tricks
- Since we have double conceal in the deck, feel free use them on anything you find worth it. Everything from multipleJade Golem to a Gadgetzan Auctioneer should be fine. Always Conceal when you know you can push for lethal either the turn after, or the second turn after that.
- You should prioritize the Jade Golem almost in all match-ups, notice the Almost. In some match-ups you should find lethal with the help of Gadgetzan Auctioneer and Leeroy Jenkins only, since some match-ups require a true push in the face instead of a safe development of minions.
- Don't waste spells when you don't have to! Don't just throw spells for fun when you might need them for later. I've seen many people using Preparation and then some other spell and hits your face with absolutely no thought behind it. Think before action, always!
4. Replacements
- Double Conceal: If you don't feel as if 2 Conceals are important in the deck, feel free to replace them with some other low cost spell or minion, possibly a Swashburglar or a Deadly Poison.
- Bloodmage Thalnos: He is just an alt-card that is used to either cycle card draw, put your opponent in a weird possition early on or to empower spells. You can replace him with an Undercity Huckster, or Shaku, the Collector or SI:7 Agent.
- Aya Blackpaw: She can be replaced with another Azure Drake, a Questing Adventurer or possibly a Red Mana Wyrm. If you have the Karazhan adventure you can add Barnes as well.
- Leeroy Jenkins: If you don't own him, you can replace him with a Reckless Rocketeer or an Argent Commander.
5. Updates and other things concerning the deck.
If you're looking for a fun deck to climb the ladder with I certainly recommend you to try this deck. Feel free to leave feedback down below! This deck is very versatile as I didn't include a single card from the Karazhan expansion, since I felt like they weren't necessary in the deck at all. I also managed to connect the classic Miracle concept with a new method of winning, namely Jade Golem.
At 25 ratings I will do a full writeup on the deck, it will contain mulligan guide, substitutions and much else. Thanks for visiting! :) *DONE*
If we hit around 100 ratings I will try to expand this write-up and make a detailed one containing more information.
*UPDATE* We have now hit 20 ratings, so if we can manage to get 5 more I will start writing the guide! Thanks for the feedback so far, really appreciate it :) PS: If you want to include N'zoth the Corruptor, check out another version of this deck here: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/714674-deathrattle-jade-rouge-rank-5
*UPDATE* -1 Conceal +1 Azure Drake
*UPDATE* Well guys, we have now hit 100+ ratings. In what way would you all like me to expand my guide? Please answer this so I can start working on that. Thanks for the great support! Cheers :) Also trying out -1 Azure Drake +1 Sap since the current meta is aggro, but i'm not sure if it helps. Will fill that out soon!
*UPDATE* Holy shit! We have now reached over 60k views, over 130 up-votes and also have over 100 comments on the guide. I never thought this deck would get such great support from so many people, so i'm entirely grateful for that. I've made one change, I decided to cut -1 Azure Drake for +1 Fan of Knives to make it easier dealing with aggro decks! Cheers, and thanks for the overwhelmingly positive support. :)
*UPDATE* -1 Fan of Knives, -1 Unearthed Raptor. +1 Beneath the Grounds, +1 Brann Bronzebeard
*UPDATE* We hit over 100k views on the deck! Thank you all for your support! :)
*UPDATE* -1 Beneath the Grounds, +1 Azure Drake
I think you should keep Van Cleef in the deck. Even without conceal he is an incredibly strong minion to play in any situation, and especially against aggro decks that don't run a lot of clears. Against control decks you could try to get a conceal before you play him, or simply play him if you think that there's a chance he'll survive!
I was running a Jade Rogue without Auctioneers, and ran Journey Below and N'Zoth the Corruptor. The benefit of that deck was more Jade Swarmer from Journey, but I think Auctioneer is superior.
At the end of the day, what this deck wants to do is copy an Unearthed Raptor to a Jade Swarmer. Your version seems to do that better as its easier to dig. I'm not sure its better than Questing or Standard Miracle, but its certainly funner.
Eventually I'd like to try out an all in Jade deck with Shadowstep and Shadowcasters, but my guess is the deck is too slow. It's easy to get caught up in making huge Jade Golems but that's just not the optimal deck.
Also, how often do you sit on Jade Swarmer? It's one damage, and keeping it in stealth for insurance (and for Raptors) seems good in slower matchups.
I've found myself sitting on it a lot - often even without an Unearthed Raptor in hand. As insurance against a board clear it's valuable in its own right.
Maybe not so much in the early turns, though. It's probably better sometimes as two 1/1s.
Thanks for the kind words, really appreciate it! Glad you like it :)
Hope you do well! :)
Took out one Azure Drake, one Jade Spirit and Bloodmage Thalnos for an additional Fan of Knives and two Questing Adventurer seems to work better.
I found that I wasn't playing the Jade Spirits on curve and often had an extra in my hand, the Thalnos wasn't providing much value and I found with two auctioneers I didn't need the card draw from Azure...the fan of knives is good in this meta + provides cycle that I'm losing from Azure and Bloodmage, and the two questing adventurers require the opponent to remove them or become big quick.
Sounds like some decent substitutions. I must try the changes out before I update the deck, but I think they might work. Thanks for the comment! :)
I try this changes and went pretty good for me, Questing Adventurer make me win lot of matchs, i think is awesome in this deck and a really strong card in early turns.
Thx EchO for the changes and of course PyrohManiac for the original deck and awesome guide.
Greetings from Chile
Thanks for your kind words :)
This deck is a hell lot of fun and I really like the build up that it gains with the raptors, aya, and the fast cycling the gadgetzan auctioneer can allow. Here is a video of a nice 3 win streak I had towards the end of my stream! Hope you enjoy! :)
Thanks fort the kind words, and i'm glad you had fun with the deck! Will look at the video right away! Thanks for sharing :)
Yea definitely I was a little on a downstreak up until the video i posted then i was having loads of fun.I feel like maybe replacing a raptor for a second sap could be useful on certain matchups maybe i am wrong though. I went on a streak again today back to rank 12 and had lots more fun with the deck so it isn't needed but maybe will make the deck a bit more stable?
Feel free to try it and share your experience with me if you feel like it :)
Hello PyrohManiac.
I'm interested in crafting this deck but don't have the key legendary cards such as Aya, Bloodmage, and Leeroy. Has anyone tried this deck with the substitutions? How far ladder have you gotten?
Additionally, I think it may be a great idea to have another Youtube video of you playing the deck and your decision choices. Just a thought if you are comfortable with it. I appreciate the Kiwibacon addition.
Secondly, you put "singe" instead of "single" in section 5. (Sorry for grammar being a grammar Nazi.)
Cheers! = )

same here .. i'm a F2P player but i can disenchant some of my collection to get the full deck but i'm hesitating cuz if the deck turned out to be underpeforming in the current meta it'll destroy me since it's so hard for me to get the dust ... i really wanna know how the deck fares and whether this vaiation is better than the pirate miracle rogue with no jades.
thanks in advance.
Thanks for your kind comment. Unfortunately I can't record gameplays at the time, but when I figure that out I'll be sure to show you when I play the deck! I have no idea if the deck works without those 3 cards since I haven't tried it, but i'm sure someone has. Also, thanks for commenting the grammar thingy, I'll be sure to fix that right away. Cheers!
Hey KeepingTheInn! If you are unsure of your decision in crafting the deck I'd honestly tell you to pass. The deck is hard to play, and can sometimes be frustrating against certain decks. If you think you're up for it, then go for it. All i'm saying is that there are better ways to spend your dust, that's the honest opinion. The deck is good, but if you want to focus on climbing to low ranks/legend i'd recommend a stronger deck like Pirate Warrior. Hope this helped you! Cheers :)
Thanks for the speedy reply Pyroh, you're awesome. = )
Your opinion please. I'm F2P as well and want to craft this deck. I'm low and dust. If you had to choose between Aya, Bloodmage, and Leeroy, which legendary would you recommend I craft first? Thanks for the input.
Hey wiaceiw! It really depends! Since you're a F2P player, you should only craft Aya if you know you'll continue playing Jade decks for quite some time, even after patches hit. Leeroy is a great alternative if you like aggro decks, since he most likely will always be viable considering he has been through nerfs before, and hence won't be nerfed again. Bloodmage thalnos is a very good card, but it is the easiest out of the 3 to replace. Thalnos is one of the best "tech" cards in the game, meaning he will fit as a card whenever you need something like him. Hope this helped, and if you aren't happy with my answer I'll gladly try to expand it. As a summary, you will have to decide which one of the 3 "roads" you want to go for, I can't decide that for you! Cheers :)
Very insightful. Thanks. I'm leaning more towards Aya right now since I feel the late game with this deck will be a bit lack luster without her. I do prefer aggro decks in general, but reckless rocketeer seems so similar to leeroy already and Aya is more unique in it's foundation.
I appreciate your replies to everyone and how easily accessible you are to the comments. Much love from California and cheers.
