Hello here is my new Shaman deck Overcry! mixed with Battlecries and Overloads :P ive been playing a variation of it since the new LOE expansion came out and its been working extremely well!
This deck can be played with a slightly aggro flair, but is much stronger of a kind of midrange deck, its very good and filling the board with minions and also stopping the enemy board from being able to place anything.
Basic Mulligans is to really go for the 1-2 Mana minions
such as Tunnel Trogg, Jeweled Scarab, Totem Golem and also Tuskarr Totemic is a really good card to start with, dont really need many spells to start with, but with Tunnel Trogg it is nice to try get an overload you can play turn 2 for extra value.
I know many of you may question Jewled Scarab but it is actually a great card in the early stages, on turn two its a great play to easily set up turn 3 and has also saved me many games with a lucky Elemental Destruction or a Healing Wave or even a Lava Burst to push for lethal.
Brann Bronzebeard is definietly a fun kind of card, here we can use him to summon two totems with Tuskarr Totemic or deal 6 damage with Fire Elemental, Summon two boombots gain double damage and health for amount of totems the possibilities are endless.
was also considering placing a Sir Finley Mrrgglton in here as Shaman hero power not always reliable and could be replaced with a better suited one, though he doesn't synergise well with Draenei Totemcarver may put him in in the future and see how it goes.
Edit:
Removed Draenei Totemcarver as not so much value compared to Fireguard Destroyer, thanks to some great feedback :)
Hope you enjoy the deck and leave a comment, ill keep it updated :D
I run an almost identical deck and just posed it yesterday. It's funny, I named my deck very similar, before I saw this... Differences are I run one Earth Shock instead of Hex; I think a direct damage spell card is more versatile than Hex as long as I can kill it without to much loss. Kind of like with mage, take fireball over sheep...
I also run more AOE for board clears if necessary, one Elemental Destruction two Lightning Storm. I think you should really consider running some healing. Currently I run two Healing Wave but I'm considering if healbot would be better because of the low mana curve and if you drop it with Bronzebeard it heals just as much.
I also just started trying out Enhance-o Mechano for a win condition.
Since this deck runs a lot of low cost minions and its not much of a control or fatigue deck if at all won't an Elemental Destruction hurt your own board? I would say that it only damages your mission as you don't need that much control and is rather a waste of a draw.
I run one. It's has come in handy one game, and I still lost that one. It was a really bad draw, but it can help you come back. It's a board clear. You don't always have board control. There is no rule that says you must lose if you don't have board control. Maybe shaman had that problem in the past but now it has some many tools it didn't before.
Shaman is a lot like Paliadan in that they have some of the best mid range drops. If you get behind on board early you can drop an Elemental Destruction, drop a minion and lava shock next turn. Think of the value and tempo swing this creates.....3 mana 4-5 damage. I think adds more versatility but either way I've been doing great with a deck much like this one.
Hmm maybe could swap in a Healing Wave to keep alive during the main aggro faze or add another Lightning Storm for extra clears, im not sure maybe try to mulligan a Lightning Storm in your hand at the start so you can get in early clears before the aggro can get a big presence. Ill have to do some extra testing on changes before i go make any big change to the deck
Thanks for the feedback :D
I hope this aggro problem wont be troubling for too much longer.
Another idea is to try and race them, they wont be making any big trades, so you could possibly build up some aggression, there are plenty of strong early minions in the deck and a couple spells to knock them down, also the Earth Elemental faces as a pretty strong Taunt against aggro on turn 5, if they dont have a silence that is.
Probably the first shaman deck that I've felt is competitive since vanilla. I definitely like the fact that the minions have lots of hitpoints, rather than previous iterations where they died to pretty much any AOE effects.
This deck curves out very well since you can manipulate your mana with overload. Additionally it has lots of staying power in the late game.
I did make one change, which was I dropped Draenei Totemcarver for a second Fireguard Destroyer because I found I never really used my hero power. In later versions of this deck I'll probably use Sir Finley Mrrgglton. I've even considered crafting Charged Hammer.
Funny things can also happen with this deck. I got a second Brann Bronzebeard from Jeweled Scarab, which on turn 10 (when I was using) comboed with Dr. Boom to get four boombots. It was glorious.
Awesome thanks for the feedback!
i was also considering that change! you make it definitely sound worth while so ill give it a good shot, i had few matches where i was getting value of the Draenei Totemcarver but im sure the Fireguard Destroyer will be much more successful
i was to, also considering Sir Finley Mrrgglton and Charged Hammer but was running out of space to put them, will definitely look for space for Sir Finley Mrrgglton as it would probably be quite a great addition.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the deck :)
Lost to zoolock. Lost to mech mage. Was about to give up.
Then I had three very fun games in a row vs. oil rogue, a murlo'adin and then a demonlock. OMG, Tunnel Trogg then Totem Golem is a strong opening! So is Tunnel Trogg followed by The Coin+Feral Spirit. Almost reminds me of how Undertaker Hunter used to look at the end of turn 2 or 3.
Bad news is... when you don't get it... whoever does own the board seems to walk all over you. Will be interested in seeing if you can pull them off often enough to keep a positive winrate.
Edit: Had fun playing 19 games with the deck, but I lost 12 of them. It definitely needs something, now that we have the actual cards to play with. Might need to consider Defender of Argus and possibly Antique Healbot.
Hmm thats not so good :( ive been playing it a fair bit and sometimes it does have its troubles but its been pulling through and doing great for me, By the looks of what your saying its been having trouble against the agro decks who can fill the board quickly, so maybe consider running another Lightning Storm or even if thats not good enough an Elemental Destruction for complete board annihilation, that may be a little overkill.
Thanks for the feedback and i'll look into improving it for you against those aggressive decks!
anyway im glad you had fun with it :) sorry about the losses.
Why only one Lava Shock?
I only use one because the deck is relitively cheap in mana cost so i never really need to unlock overload crystals and unless you have more than 2 locked crystals it doesnt really have much value, so its definitely a great card and feel free to use 2 but when i was playing i didnt really feel it was all that nessesary
I don´t have earth elemental for what i can substitute??
Earth Elemental is definitely a good card, but a great replacement could be a second Fireguard Destroyer, as it also has synergy with the troggs and alsois quite great withBrann Bronzebeard
That is also a great idea for the swap, thanks :D The Mistcaller is definitely a good card for this deck!
