Outline

This is my most recent take on the latest changes in the Shaman combo arsenal. With this we take a very big step. We abandon Reincarnate and most cards that synergize with it for early aggression with Windfury creatures and look for combo plays with Malygos with Ancestor's Call, while we also include Ragnaros the Firelord and Al'Akir the Windlord for extra burst. All our removal will either be lethal face damage or used as a board clear to protect our minions or to ensure face damage with Ragnaros the Firelord or Dunemaul Shaman.

Basically the strategy is to force our opponent in one difficult situation after another until he cannot deal with it, aynmore. I feel this deck just got stronger now, perhaps we can even ruin the ladder with it after release! ;)

Call for Action

I will write a complete guide for it, as I alsowas the first one to invent/post such type of deck, but I need and would love to have some feedback on the changes by comparing this version to the previous version of the deck. A lot of people have contributed comments for the previous version, so whenever such big changes occur I think it's just fair to give everyone a chance to have their voices heard. It would be a huge tragedy if you missed out on this chance, so contribute liberally!

Yet the overall goal of the deck doesn't change: The key time to drop Ancestor's Call with a Legendary is still turn 6-7. It's likely that all our cheap minions have been played out by then to ensure this. If the opponent will not be able to deal with this additional threat immediately, it's likely game over.

Variations of this deck:

List of useful cards to consider (if you can think of more, please put it down in the comment section below):

Abusive Sergeant

Wild Pyromancer

Lava Burst

Defender of Argus

Gnomish Inventor

Doomhammer

Sylvanas Windrunner

Troggzor the Earthinator

Different variations of this deck can be imagined. A slower version of this deck could swap out all 4 Windfury creatures for 2 x Wild Pyromancer, 1 x Defender of Argus, 1 x Gnomish Inventor and also Doomhammer instead of Lava Burst, perhaps even Sylvanas Windrunner or Troggzor the Earthinator.

I would never run more than 4 big Legendaries, perhaps 3 is enough. But Sylvanas Windrunner or Troggzor the Earthinator kind of fit in the niche, as they both require immediate attention and removal and can be played alone, but also with Ancestor's Call to some effect, but lesser so than the other big Legendaries. It's worth a try.

While I deem this one one of the more aggressive versions already, things could possibly still get quicker, when you put in 1-2 Abusive Sergeant, instead of a Dunemaul Shaman and a Lava Burst, while others prefer double Lava Burst other double Dunemaul Shaman.

Changes compared to previous version

A lot of "1 ofs" had to go:

1 x Nerubian Egg

2 x Reincarnate

1 x Defender of Argus

1 x Doomhammer

1 x Sylvanas Windrunner

1 x Sneed's Old Shredder

In came a lot of "2 ofs", which indicates streamlining of the deck:

2 x Crackle

2 x Whirling Zap-o-matic

2 x Dunemaul Shaman

1 x Ragnaros the Firelord.

Card Talk

I do hope that the Class Legendary for Shaman will be a big one and fit in this deck, as it would be amazing to have 4 targets for Ancestor's Call. At the moment not another single big legendary can have such immediate board impact as the triad of Malygos, Al'Akir the Windlord and Ragnaros the Firelord to counteract Ancestor's Call pulling a minion from the opponent's hand, while potentially pushing for quick lethal at the same time.

I like Doomhammer. While it's no longer included in this deck, I can see some people swapping one with a Dunemaul Shaman. My feeling tells me this would lead to a slightly worse version of this deck. But I think that's open for discussion.
