Something like Toast's 10 cards otk witchwood rogue, redone with Boomsday cards.
- Cards needed:
- Malygos: Core card, which makes any spell deadly
- Preparation: Basically, saves mana. Best rogue card ever :D
- Kobold Illusionist: Core card, which summons Malygos on board. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO MINIONS BUT Malygos IN YOUR HAND, or it will be PAINFUL to summon 1\1 piece of freaking Doomsayer
- Necrium Vial: Activates Kobold Illusionist deathrattle. If you think it costs too much, you're wrong. +two Malygos on board for TWO mana(with Preparation)
- Necrium Blade: Activates Kobold Illusionist deathrattle. If opponent did not destroyed your weapon, that means you just got free +5 spell damage with Malygos. But it's okay if he did thou
- Any direct damage, like two Razorpetal or Sinister Strike
- How to:
- Get all combo pieces in hand
- Play Necrium Blade and hit once
- Make sure you have no minions but Malygos in your hand!
- Play Kobold Illusionist, hit with Necrium Blade, which summons one Malygos, then use Preparation+Necrium Vial, which is another two Malygos. Thats +15 spell damage for 6 mana, means you have 4 more mana
- Kill opponent with any combination of Razorpetal, Sinister Strike or Eviscerate
There is some possible replacements, because this is not a ten cards combo anymore, so you free to replace something like WANTED!, even Valeera the Hollow, because now you can get +20 spd(kill Kobold Illusionist with Backstab) and 88 damage total, without dk!
- Lets talk about it:
- Assassinate is better that Vilespine Slayer because you have to be sure Malygos is the only minion in your hand. And there is no good activators for Vilespine Slayer combo. BUT there will be some spell immune things like magnetized Beryllium Nullifier or something, so maybe Vilespine Slayer could be good. We will see
- Gadgetzan Auctioneer isn't best because you have no Counterfeit Coin, and there is not much cards you can spend for draw, since half of your spells will be used by time you play Auctioneer, and in most situations you need one Preparation for combo. Acolyte of Pain could be even better
- Both of these problems can be almost solved with coins you gain with WANTED!. You will have two spells for Gadgetzan Auctioneer and/or two activators for Vilespine Slayer
- Valeera the Hollow used to be very useful because witchwood version of the deck had lack of damage and Shadow Reflection makes it work. With crazy Necrium cards you have a lot of damage, but Valeera the Hollow is still good, at least with stealth and great amount of value you get with Shadow Reflection. BUT if you dont have it, its ok now
- Good thing about this deck is you don't need to be on board, you just need to survive. Which means you can do very slow turns with Cheap Shot, for example
- Bloodmage Thalnos is good, and you need him for draw, but if you don't have it, you can replace with underrated Tainted Zealot. Her divine shield means sometimes she survives whole opponents turn, which makes that +spd buff work. For example, you can kill some spellhunter's wolves with Cheap Shot, which Thalnos can't. Because he is dead :D
- One Shadowstep is great idea, because Preparation is card you wanna use for fight, and its not easier to keep it, so you can use Shadowstep on Kobold Illusionist to save 2 mana instead
- Some tips:
- Be patient. Your cards providing your survival ability, and till Valeera the Hollow you dont have much resources, means you should use them carefully.
- If you got Gatgetzan Auctioneer, save some spells for him. If you have no spells to use with him, it's ok to just drop him on a board. Most people so scared of him they trow fireballs at him. And you really love when those fireballs not in your face, because 30 hp is all you have
- Remember that Valeera the Hollow can be your enemy: always count cards in your hand. Shadow Reflection comes before you draw card at the start of turn, means you can burn something important. And Shadow Reflection copies last card you've played. so you can summon some 1/1 Kobold Illusionist if you play Necrium Vial right after him
- If you wanna hit with weapon and play Valeera the Hollow at same turn, be sure you hit BEFORE playing Valeera the Hollow, or you'll come out of stealth!
- Amount of cards like Cheap Shot, Assassinate, WANTED!, Evasion, Sap and etc depends of decks you meet. Nowadays there are lot of aggro, so two Evasion and two Cheap Shot means you will live 4 more turns, but meta will change, so you can replace some of these cards with more draw of other survival cards. It's up to you
I've played Toast's witchwood version of that deck like a lot, and that deck is for fun, totally not for winning(around 35% winrate). But boomsdays cards made combo a lot easier, thats why this deck is flexible enough. Just remember that core of the deck is five-six cards, rest of it is about survive and draw combo. You can build same deck with standart spiders and slayers miracle set, with pick pockets and stealing, or whatever you like, and it will work
You can play without them, but Doomsayer is a good craft since there a lot of control decks which would use him. 2 mana card which can buy you a turn or 7 hp, is a lot
But if you dont have dust, you can just play on basic version of the deck, with 2x Novice Engineer, 2x Loot Hoarder, 2x Gnomish Inventor and etc(I can make a list, if needed). Or just replace Doomsayer with Witchwood Piper, for example
Piper is good, because she draw minion, which is very nice for this kind of deck, but Zealot is not very okay. Deck must run less minions, because any they could ruin combo. If you play with Shiv and Cheap shot, then yes, you can use that spd, its good
I was actually experimenting with a similar build, but since i don't have Valeera the Hollow (which i don't think is that important for this deck) I teched in Shadowstep and Hallucination which can work wonders and synergies with Auctioneer. By the way, what do you think about potentially adding Shiv or Witchwood Piper which I'm also trying with mixed results.
The most issue i'm having on ladder rn is aggro, particularly zoolock
It's okay to put Shiv and really good about Witchwood Piper. Never thought about it, but Piper is very good cuz she pulls a minion anyway, so its ok to draw her both during game and with Elven Minstrel
Btw, there is a version of deck developed all about draw, means it has 2x Novice Engineer, 2x Loot Hoarder, 2x Gnomish Inventor and etc. Maybe we should test it, could be good cuz u bring some stats on board and draw insanely fast
aggro is problem for any slow deck, and any rogue spells can't stop that pressure :D I've made some experiments and put that combo with standart miracle set, you know, spiders and vilespine slayers, that deck was ok and could win against some mech paladins and otk was just another way to win. But still, aggro locks is just too fast
A wonderful combination.
Maybe there may be one Sprint card in the deck. Playing with preparation, although it is expensive then it is possible after all. This could have been cure the deficities of drawing cards, sometimes.
There are some troubles with aggro atm, and you have one Preparation only, because second one is for combo, and you have no time to play 7 mana Sprint
We can kinda fix that problem: you can play with one Shadowstep, which saves 2 mana in case you spend Preaparation for surviving and sprint. Then it's 7 mana combo and you have 3 mana left, which can be enough in most situations
agree
I've been trying Toast's version of this archetype and losing a lot. Myra's Unstable Element seems very out of place since it's too much highroll when you don't have the core cards and badly need to risk playing it. I have already lose a match wherein my Malygos was 6-8 cards deep in the deck and milled him with it lol.
One difference with our version though is I have 1x Shadowstep instead of WANTED!.
Yeah, Myra's Unstable Element is just dead card, there is almost no way you can use it. Btw, good idea with Shadowstep! I've had epic game where I killed my opponent at 1 hp, but that's because my Preparation was second on bottom(he must be dead seven turns ago). Shadowstep could be used to avoid that kind of situations
Careful. If you're Valeera and use the order you mentioned, there's a 50% chance you pull a 1/1 kobold instead of a maly.
Yeah that's why before proccing the deathrattle you have to play another card, i.e Prep + Necrium Vial.
Shadow Reflection copies last card you've played, but you shoud play Preparation after Kobold Illusionist in most situations, otherwise you have only 1 mana left for dealing damage, which isn't good enough
I've been playing it for like half an hour and so far it is good against priests and handlocks but super inconsistent against aggro, which is something expected of this kind of stall OTK decks. It is awesome when you manage to pull the combo off with 3/5 malygods, 2/7 so far, will edit later with more info.
ill give it a try
