NEW VERSION OF THE DECK:
So after testing a lot of different versions and listening to some of your feedback, I have updated the deck to make it more effective in the current meta. It now has more heal and AoE damage. So far the results have been awesome (10-3). See the new version of the deck below:
https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1100619-10-3-one-lady-in-white-to-rule-them-all
Update 2:
Meta is becoming full of Baku Rogues so this deck might not perform as well as it used to.
Update:
Current bad matchups are Hunters, Rogues and some versions of Spiteful Druid. I am now testing the deck with the following changes:
- 1 Twilight Acolyte
- 1 Archivist
+ 1 Harrison Jones
+ 1 Obsidian Statue
Introduction:
This deck is a modified version of the "Lady/Keleseth Spiteful Priest" that was shared by Sounder yesterday.
I am currently winning 16-2 (at rank 3) with this deck. What I love about it is that you can quickly out-value most opponents (like Cubelocks, Shamans, mirror matchups, etc...) while easily protecting yourself from most aggressive decks (thanks to all the taunts you have).
If people like the deck and are interested in a more detailed guide, I'd be happy to write one. Just let me know!
Mulligan:
Most of the time, you will want to keep:
- Chameleos (allows you to know what your opponent has in his hand)
- Prince Keleseth (to get his effect early on)
- Northshire Cleric to draw cards (though you can expect Cubelocks or Shamans to play Doomsayer turn 2).
- Smaller taunt minions that you can play on curve (like Stonehill Defender and Tar Creeper), above all if playing vs aggro.
- Duskbreaker (great vs aggro)
Versus mirror matchups, the best is to be able to coin Lady in White turn 5 and play Spiteful Summoner turn 6.
Some Card Info
- Chameleos is an awesome card. In mirror matchups, it helps you copy cards like Spiteful Summoner to create even more value. Versus Cubelocks, you can use it to copy cards like Rin's seal (I did this twice) or cards like Voidlord, Lord Godfrey, etc...
- Mossy Horror is great vs more aggressive decks like Baku Paladin (unless they have already boosted their minions). It also helps you clear the board after killing a Voidlord or when a Shaman plays a bunch of Saronite Chain Gang to stop you from attacking his face. Mossy was a key card in several games I played, allowing me to win.
Changes made vs original deck
If you are wondering about the changes I made compared to the original deck:
- Removed one Twilight Acolyte (not that useful based on all the games I did) and added one more Stonehill Defender (it's always great to get one or two Obsidian Statue, depending on the matchups).
- Removed one Cabal Shadow Priest and added one Mossy Horror (I believe clearing the board is more important than stealing a 2-attack minion).
- Removed Spellbreaker (not that useful given the value you get with Lady in White) as well as one Witchwood Grizzly and replaced them by two Wyrmguard.
So far, my two losses were against Baku Hunters. Their upgraded hero power deals too much damage and as the deck does not have any heal, it is hard to stay alive. If I start facing too many hunters, I will have to update the deck with 1-2 heal minions.
With no other healing effect than the hero power, is the Matriarch good enough? Especially when not empowered by the Lady, it seems too slow. You also have the two Wyrmguard on the 7 cost mana curve. Wouldn't be better to run two Primordial Drakes, which are still good with the Lady, but got both taunt and an AoE effect?
Other than that, I'm not much sold on the Grizzly, seems good only against all-in aggro decks, I prefer a Gluttonous Ooze.
Also wondering if there would be space for an Obsidian Statue and / or and Ysera , especially Ysera, give you've got only 6 dragons, and that seems to me a bit too low with almost no draw power. I usually try to run 8/9 dragons in dragon decks, and that was when there was the Historyan too!
Hey Malhavoc, thanks for your suggestions. I believe they are pretty on point given the current meta. This deck was performing great a week ago but not that well now as I am seeing more and more Baku Rogues/Hunters. I believe what you suggested would help it be stronger given the current meta. I'll give it a go and let you know how it goes!
Hey, was running the other spiteful lady deck and switched over to this one yesterday. Since doing that I've climbed from 8 to 5. Thanks a lot for making this and I look forward to seeing more changes in the future as you continue to perfect it.
Hey BigMaple, thanks a lot for taking the time to share your feedback, you rock! I am glad to see that you're doing well with the deck! Keep it up mate!
What's your current thought about the archivist vs obsidian statue? I very rarely find the archivist useful since I usually either use a spiteful or two or draw some spells or my opponent has a less than desirable board that I don't necessarily want to mind control.
Can you replace Prince/Chameleos in this deck and still be viable?
For me Keleseth gives you an extra edge if you put it in play early but it is not vital for the deck. spiteful and Lady are. so yes you can change it for Harrison Jones. You need a weapon removal and this one draws cards too.
Hey Branch, these two cards are not crucial to the deck. However, as Lycaon55 mentioned, they can truly give you an edge and allow you to win versus tough matchups.
i dont have Harrison Jones and Obsidian Statue , which cards can i replace them ? And can i get tips against mages, mirror opponents and druids bro ?
Hey Caneria, if you don't have Harrison Jones, you can use a Gluttonous Ooze instead. Regarding Obsidian Statue, the idea was to add one more minion that would combo well with Lady in White while restoring health. If you don't have it, you could try adding a Deranged Doctor or a Rotten Applebaum and see how they performed in the deck. They won't combo with Lady in White but will give you some health back.
If you are facing mirror opponents or Spiteful druids, the key is board control. If you lose the board, then you will be focusing on dealing with theirs and end up losing the game. So you want to be able to play minions as soon as possible (mulligan for cheap minions) and try to draw your Spiteful Summoners early on. You want to trade so you can keep controlling the board, forcing them to use their removals, etc...
Against mages, it depends. There are different types of mages. The ones that play Jaina are really tough matchups. You want to control the board (keep Duskbreaker) and play big health minions that won't die easily. Try to put pressure and force her to use polymorph early on (so she can't combo it with Jaina).
Hope this helps a bit!
Thanks Sekro for tips , i will try
Hey Mr_NiceNL, if you don't have the legendaries, don't craft them yet. The meta isn't stable right now as the new expansion launched couple of days ago. I'd wait 1-2 weeks before choosing which cards to craft.
Hey VIVEc, thanks for stopping by and sharing your feedback on the deck :) Glad to see you like it and are doing well with! Agree that Chameleos is a truly awesome card! Keep it up mate!
why just one copy of free from amber?
Well, two main reasons (that are my own opinion):
1/ You already have 3 big spells to combo with Spiteful Summoners, which is plenty enough.
2/ As the deck is running Lady in White, I prefer to have bigger health minions that will combo well with it (like Wyrm Guard).
I've gone 16-0 with this deck so far. Only change I made was getting rid of Chameleos (didn't want to waste the dust in case I didn't like the deck) and putting in a gluttonous ooze. Granted, this was from rank 25-19, but I'm having great success so far against pretty much every deck type. Quest warrior, aggro pally, odd hunter, tempo rogue, won against them all. The only matchup I've had any difficulty with was odd hunter because the hero power just does so much, but I still won with 6 HP left.
Awesome Verathis! Thanks for letting us know how well the deck is doing for you! You were right not to craft Chameleos. As the meta isn't stable yet, it is better to wait 1-2 weeks before choosing cards to craft. Keep up the great games!
Hey! Sekro, great deck, just sing Up to thank you. Today i just won 31 W 0 L, now im in rank 13. Great call with that chameleos, he save me from cubelock, mirror and mage matchups.
In My battles the card i less use is grand archivist, but good when u only have hope in your deck.
Hey Mantellini, glad to see you've been doing great with the deck! True that Grand Archivist might not be that useful depending on the matchups. I guess you could try replacing it with Harrison Jones or Gluttonous Ooze in order to make some matchups even easier (or adding a second Amber).
Playing this deck at Rank 5. I took out Chameleos and replaced it with Holy Nova which gives me an extra clear board against aggro and can eventually be used with Nightscale Matriarch later in the game. I replaced Grand Archivist withYsera, the synergy with Lady in White is obvious and the card it generates usually help to finish the game. I also included Harrison Jones to counter Cubelock. I did beat some cubelocks with this deck.
