The deck I used to reach rank 5 from 20 in the first day of witchwood,
Flex slot(s) / Replacements: Stormwind Champion x2 for Corridor Creeper x2
Will write up mulligan, playstyle and matchups if it reaches 100+ upvotes
Use it and abuse it, and most of all enjoy the new xpac!
Has anybody had success with this recently? I tried it out (very late to the party, I know) and lost 12 games out of 20, and a couple of the ones I did win weren't vs great players. Maybe it's me, but it just feels like tempo Druid, any Warlock, and board-clean Mage/Warrior always have a natural and suffocating advantage against this deck. It's definitely fun to play with, though.
Enjoy Hell SMOrc memer
I call this deck: "Proof of why the Paladin Upgraded Hero Power needs to get nerfed."
Why Tar Creeper and not Stonehill Defender? You very often discover Sunkeeper Tarim and win the game.
MAN, this deck rocks. Just had like 12/0, this is insane, since i'm playing HS very rearly. Surprisingly, I defeated those decks that were supposed to counter this (not cube lok tho). Thanks!
I'm Having a good time with this list
2 Stormwind Champion is kinda heavy.
How do you beat the cubelocks? I keep getting board cleared before I can even level up.
On average, you dont, its a really bad matchup, pretty much the only way to win is that they have a horrible draw and you go all in with face damage in the first couple of turns.
Obviously Im doing something wrong but I cant win with this deck - there are too many taunts that my minions cant overcome and I feel like I always get my 7 weapon draws at the beginning :(
I've had more success pulling one Blessing of Might and adding a second Ironbeak Owl. Helps with all the taunts. But other players are beginning to tech for this type of deck. I've seen an awful lot of Abomination lately.
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it :), will write up some mulligan and general advice how to pilot the deck soon
what decks were you playing against
I had success with this deck treating it more like a mid-range deck with early aggro to force board clears if that helps any.
I've seen some odd decks going with Stonehill Defender and others going with Tar Creeper. What's your reasoning for Tar Creeper? Are you finding that the stouter taunt offsets the taunt generation of Stonehill?
Hey, so the thing with stonehill is that it generates value, sometimes so much so that it pretty much autowins you the game (getting Tarim off of him for example). I personally prefer the higher reliability of Tar creeper against matchups that can be difficult depending on their good draw (Face hunter, which you are usually favoured vs and Secret pally, also a slightly favourable matchup), and about the Corridor creepers im running a variant with -1 Stormwind Champion +1 Corridor Creeper and its working well so far so feel free to try out flexing that spot a bit until you find what you enjoy the most, cheers
Tar creeper is much better vs aggro decks , where you don't have the luxury to play a 3 mana 1/4 and get away with it.
because Tarim isn't gonna be very good when your board is empty and the enemy paladin has a full board.
personally I played this list 2 days ago (which is the most popular list on hsreplay ) and I had an 18 game winning streak from rank 12 to 4.
because I was facing mostly aggro decks. Dire Mole + Glacial Shard + Tar Creeper destroy aggro decks
Stonehill Defender is OP as Paladin, 9/10 you will get Tirion Fordring or Sunkeeper Tarim wich wins pretty much half of my games. No way I would replace it with Tar Creeper
Love this deck, been doing really well with it. Is there place for 1 or 2 Lightfused Stegodon? If so, what would you replace? Thanks!!
I'm an idiot, ignore me. Just realised it's an even cost card haha
Its an odd deck. Stegodon is even
