Now I'm confused
Bloodbloom + DOOM!
Now that would kill you poor illusionist ...
this would be much better as a 3/4 than a 4/3, but I guess the 4/3 is more violent
I don't see why she isn't getting more play in Rogue.
I compare her to Earthen Ring Farseer, which has one less attack, and heals three. VI prevents damage, which is something a lot of fan created cards want to try out. I think in many games, being able to prevent more than three damage is generally better than healing for 3. For instance, last game I played against a priest and I dropped this on turn three. He couldn't kill it with pain and he dropped a twilight summoner. I ran VI in, then backstabbed, SI:7 and finished it off with a dagger. Essentially VI became "heal five health" instead of "heal 3." I think that's prettttty good.
I know what combo ill play in next Battle of Tol Barad tavern brawl Violet Illusionist + Auchenai Soulpriest + Tree of Life :>
you would die befor you could even play the combo
can it be put in stealth mode and still work?
it will be awesome in mill rogue ! (;
This will find its way into warlock decks but would have to be a 1-turn combo card because it will be removed immediately.
Permutations Ensue:
So for 3 mana, you are likely to save is 3 to 5 health per combo and be left with a 4/3 body on the board. That sounds good, but I don't see where this fits into a Zoo lineup at first glance. On the other hand, thinking about Renolock, lot's of flex in there...
I still think this Violet Illusionist is going to be huge for Mill Rouge. You only need one copy, and you can hold it in your hand till the final burn turn. This way you don't have to worry about killing yourself with mill, since typically Mill Rogues are close to death when they draw enough Coldlight Oracles to burn you that they could end up killing themselves as well.
Yeah, no doubt, and only need to run one copy is sweet.
Inspired by this comment, I tried a deck with the illusionists, Jaraxxus, wrathguard, and flame imp. It was actually fairly decent at low level play. It was surprisingly common where this card would live to see a second or even third turn. I also found that I didn't mind playing one on turn 5 to save myself 2 damage. I mean, the stats are good enough for a 3-drop to play it solo if you need to.
Oddly enough, it didn't seem to work well with Chittering Tunneler or Cho'gall. The problem with tunneler is that I don't really want to take the damage when I don't have the combo. Cho'gall is a 10 mana, 3 card combo. I imagine it would be better with Bloodbloom, though I haven't tried it yet. 5 mana for a Siphon Soul that leaves a 4/3 behind seems decent but is a 3 mana combo. And that's the top-end of Warlock spells that aren't board-clears. Combining illusionist and bloodbloom with, say soul-fire or Shadow Bolt would be terrible.
I mean Animated Armor is better in some ways...
For mage maybe, but for classes like warlock and warrior?, I think it's gonna be preeeeety good.
Animated Armor reduces damage during your opponents turn. This is only during your turn. Small caveat, but an important distinction in how the cards function.
tool's bane + violet illusionist, 4 turn clean board :(
Or you play Brawl
Or you don't play Brawl and keep your board advantage.
