Also, for everyone saying this is worse than flamewaker: Flamewaker is good against small stuff, this is better against big stuff. Also, Flamewaker is broken af, so saying something "isn't as good Flamewaker ", even if were true, wouldn't meant the card wete bad.
First I thought it could try to freeze an already frozen charakter and thought it sucked, then I saw that that was not the case and now I like it. If your opponent has no removal and you have enough spells, you can perma-lock your opponent. Don't knoe enough about freeze or tempo mage, the decks this would most likely go into, to say if this fita into there, but I'm gonna say there is a chance. Stats suck, but the effect is just so powerfull...
Looks like tempo mage is the class I will switch on in expansion from dru and pal. This card is going to give great amount of control, especially when it frozes target after aoe and flameworker were triggered. Anyway mage just getting best cards in expansion atm. If forceroar will be it will be best class to play surely in tier1. And looks like it's a sure way to buy BWL instead of new busters pack right after expansion launch :)
Let me guess u play secret paladin and ramp druid? You sound like you are a good player.
You know Mage is spoiled for rad cards when you see people saying that this is "insulting".
Robert "Whirthun" Wing confirmed it will not target an enemy that is already frozen.
What if they are all frozen (enemy hero included)?
Having all the information out there is good to know.
This card is too slow to see play in anything but a spell-heavy control deck, and the stats are fairly poor for the cost. It's even worse in Arena.
This card just upsets me, 4 mana? Why did it have to be 4 mana! Mages get a Water Elemental, a 3/6 with an awesome abillity, for 4 mana.
I just can't see playing this on curve and it doing anything except dying without even trading. I mean, I guess we can't really compare this to Flamewaker, because that card is from a way more powerful set and that card had almost on it's own turned an average deck archetype into a top tier one. But 2/4 for 4 with... a very underwhelming abillity, this card just feels insulting. You can't even control who gets frozen like Water Elemental. What if it chooses the same target twice? Will it just waste a trigger?
Looking at it's control potential it doesn't even look that good. Ok, you freeze 0-2 characters a turn. What are the odds you'll freeze the big minion that, by the way, could just sneeze on this 2/4 and kill it? As I've stated I don't see this being played before T4, and by T6-T8, 4 health is nothing! I don't see this being a good mid-range card, a good tempo card, or a good anti-aggro card. It's way too slow and clunky for tempo, it's way too defensless and uninfluential to stop aggro or mid-range. Why would I play this card when I can play Blizzard or even Frost Nova?
It seems to be "Meh" in arena.
One good thing to say to end it on a nicer note, I do like the art and I do like the concept. I just think it is overcosted and understated. If this was a 4/4, or a 3/5, or even 2/5, it might have been more viable.
It's a card for end game. You can just outlast for t6-7 and then make full lock on enemy with this minion and cheap 1 mana spells. The only hurt is that mages will not have secrets in deck and outlast now will not be easy
Mage players are like "wah wah why do we cat cards like this when we have no deck space for it because of so amny other good 4 mana minions".
Other clases are like "a card this good? Sure beats out the other crap Blizzard gives us in our decks"
This would be super strong as a 3 mana card( like Flamewaker), but not quite as good as a 4 mana.. hard to balance this card..
The idea is good but i dont think it will see play in any mage constructed deck with the cards that have been revealed so far..
With the clarification that it'll try to avoid freezing already frozen targets, I think this can actually be quite decent.
this card is meh... bad and in arena sucks.
I really would have liked to see this at 3 mana especially when looking at flamewaker's ability at 3 mana lol
that being said I feel like it would be ok but water elemental just destroys this card as a 4 mana minion =\
thats becuase tgt kinda sucked though
People are really underestimating how good this card can be in a slow meta without a ton of sticky small minions from naxx/gvg.
Well, I guess this is what happens when you give mage the best 6 drop in the game....everything else has to be crap...really hope it's worth it
Did you forget about savannah highmane?
