Does this work with Mal'Ganis? It's labeled as costing health and not dealing damage.
Well, I was kinda hoping Cho'gall will become future Warlock skin and be the first Ogre Hero ever (beside Rexxar is half Ogre, half Orc). I wonder who will be now?

PLEEEEASE let it be Archimonde! He's so much cooler than Cho'Gall. I could handle giving up the WoG Warlock legendary slot to Cho'Gall if we got a cool hero skin like Archimonde. :P
as shocking as this might seem you can combo this with Dark Bargain amd actually get value especially if you are running zoo
Interesting card, The cards you will get the most value from on a general basis are Siphon Soul, Bane of Doom, Hellfire, and Twisting Nether (if you are desperate and HAVE to have it on turn 7). Combing this with Lantern of Power could be a possible win condition as well, but you would need a solid amount of HP (not a big problem for Renolock), or to fall back on Lord Jaraxxus the next turn. Of course it synergizes amazingly with Mal'ganis in wild, but that would require having him survive a turn which usually doesn't happen and will be harder in Wild.
My main curiosity is this card being combined with Naga Sea Witch, will the spells only deal 5 damage? If so, that could lead to an amazing board on turn 5 or 6, and would allow you to play 3 expensive cards on turn 10. (Cho'gal =5 + Cho'gal Spell + any other card = 5)
Couldn't this see play in Reno Warlock?

Please please please let there be some way for Warlocks to get health. The loss of Antique Healbot is going to be a huge blow otherwise. Except in Renolock, which is looking pretty badass right now.
Very powerful but not overpowered as it only effects the next card you play. Insane with siphon soul and very good with most other cards.
Well, I will wait for some more 7+ cost-spells for Warlock in the next 3 expasions. :D
Really good card with a good effect. It's a shame there are not really any cards worth getting the discount on. Best case scenario is you play this with Doom, then drop double Molten + Sunfury.
If it had "All your spells cost life instead of mana" That would be a different story. Also how does this work with Forbidden cards? Assuming one pops from a thoughtsteal or something.
I assume you lose life equal to the amount of empty mana crystals. But it would be interesting if you just died :/

Cho'gall does not synergize with Forbidden spells at all. The mana tax is part of the effect text, not the card itself (which for purposes of this card and a card such as Summoning Stone costs (0).)
It's a good card, but it's pretty boring and disappointing card imo. Will probably find a place in handlock, zzzzz. Only notable interesting interaction that I saw was with Arch Thief Rafaam 's artifacts. It'll probably just be a small buff to reno handlock because you can combo it with a ton of other things like Siphon Soul to get even more ridiculous tempo turns.
If only it was an effect that lasted until the first spell cast and not until end of turn. Probably tough to balance for that way though but probably won't see much play like this, I can be wrong.
