New Mechanics
- New Keyword: Colossal - Minions with extra appendages that synergize with their main body in powerful ways. These appendages are summoned with the main body, even if the Colossal minion wasn’t played from hand.
- New Tribe: Naga - The Naga are a spell-focused minion type that tend to give bonuses for playing spells while the Naga are in your hand.
- New Keyword: Dredge - Lets you look at the bottom three cards of your deck and pick one to put at the top of your deck, much like Discover does. It does not draw the card unless specified.
Other Mechanics
Some mechanics that were seen in previous card sets were brought back on new cards, as well as some truly new mechanics were added:
- Giant that costs less when you have spent Mana on spells.
- Refresh Mana Crystals based on the most expensive spell in your hand.
- Pick a minion. When it dies deal AoE damage.
- A "Repeatable this turn" spell for Paladin.
- Draw 2 minions and swap their stats.
- Put an enemy minion on the bottom of your opponent's deck.
- There are several Shaman cards that deal with multiple spell schools for their effects.
- Warlock has multiple cards that shuffle Curses into their opponent's hand that deal damage on the opponent's turn, but can be played by them to reduce further damage.
- Replace your deck with minions that cost (5) or more. They cost (5).
- You can view all the new cards in our Voyage to the Sunken City Cards List.

Theorycrafted Decks
We created a special Decks post yesterday, with a lot of new archetypes and a lot of new deck ideas. You can find the links to that Decks post below.
Alternatively, create your own deck with the Deckbuilder, add a good guide on how to pilot the deck and help create the post-launch meta!
That should get you started! Thanks for being with us throughout this exciting Voyage to the Sunken City reveal period. Shoutout to everyone who helped in one way or another during this time, the other moderators and staff and the devs and all the users who gave us useful suggestions and feedback, and to everyone who enjoyed and supported our coverage. You rock!

Its beyond me how they didnt checked this before release
Should have replaced all the core and basic cards with completely new ones... lazy designers. Old cards are ùnbalanced.
Well.. it’s official, I didn’t buy the set, not even the cheaper option. I’m finally free! NO MORE TIME WASTED ON THIS GAME, NO MORE MONEY WASTED ON WORTHLESS SKINS. IT’S OVER!!
And you have to write that on a FAN PAGE instead of the official sites? Really?
I got excited, this is the first time in YEARS I haven’t just given in, maybe I can inspire others to drop the game too and do something with their time and money. That’s all.
let people enjoy the game. if you dont enjoy it just go and play something else. Simple. Dont be toxic
I was excited to play for the first time in a looong time, and they managed to screw things up. Bummer.
No packs in shop?
Yeah, me neither. Someone forgot something?
Can't find the new packs in shop either
Just noticed, the sets that rotated are still listed under 'standard' too. Can they go one expansion release without fucking something up?
Most excited I've been for this game in a year. Hearthstone saved?
the core set is insane..
With that amount of Powercreep it will be even worse than ever before probably.
There haven't been any announcements on PvE content, but we do know something is coming from the Christie Golden interview.
You can also tell from the card art I feel and the introduction cinematic that there's clearly a story being told. We'll get to find out how that story will be conveyed soon I bet. :)
Should this be 18:00 BST rather than GMT? The main thread says 18:00 BST.
BST = British Summer Time, which is GMT+1 and is active from last day of March till I think 1st day of Oct.
BST is 1 hour behind on CEST, the Central European Summer Time.
The time in the article should be correct.
EDIT: I'm an idiot. The article said GMT, yeah you are correct it should have been BST, I just failed to adjust it correctly after having copied that part from the last expansion post.
My bad.
can't wait!
