Don't know why but this reminds me of doctors stranger...
Not sure what to think of the card but this has my favourite art of all revealed cards.
Come on, Blizzard, if u gonna force me to play deathrattle priest, at least gimme a decent legendary
It sticks on the board as long as you have spells to cast on it (targeted damage spells will count) or silenced. It is decent but Priest have other better game plans than this I think.
Let's assume for a second, that this card is AMAZING, META DEFINING and will DESTROY THE META WITH 7 5/5s ON THE BOARD BY TURN 8! (Kidding, by the way.) If this were to happen, there would be an easy answer. Silence it on turn 6. That simple, it can't strive to be a good card because if it does, it's probably going to instead be silenced, and a 6 mana 5/5 "your opponent discards a silence" isn't any good. If you do buff this, it'll get silenced too. Silence silence silence, you get it.
I should also mention, Vivid Nightmares makes this a good card. You can resummon two 1/1's and if you can buff them, bring back two 5/5s. If your opponent silences them, correct me if I'm wrong but they become 5/5s anyway so it's good either way.
Theres two ways of looking at this card. I see it only ran in Quest, but I can definetely see Quest seeing a comeback at that.
@pyrexokid this is true
I mean, it still counts as a deathrattle being played (and if it was killed after the silence) and destroyed, so it's still considered a deathrattle minion in the graveyard, meaning that it can be brought back via Twilight's Call and other shenanigans.
if youre playing a deathrattle deck, you could use this card as a silence bait, and use things like cubes with reckless experimenter. I mean, your opponent can only have so many silences.
Depends on if Zerek registers that a spell has been cast on it at the beginning of the cast or at the end of the cast.
*sigh*
Priest...
I mean, it's a better body than Cairne Bloodhoof, but not by a lot. It won't always trigger the first time, but you've got the potential for multiple activations. I dunno. Just doesn't feel good to me.
I generally agree - in a lot of cases, Zerek won't be better than Cairne. However, people were quick to judge Purify as a bad card, but a critical mass of silence effects made Silence OTK priest effective for a while. With the right set of buff cards, Zerek could be very effective.
I mean, it's possible. Sherazin, Corpse Flower can be pretty good in the right circumstance, and is often a really sweet card to random into. This kinda reminds me of Sherazin a little. If you've got a Power Word: Shield for this a few times, it can do a huge amount of work.
I think it's still a "I dunno" card. Not straight-up bad, not gamebreaking in any semi-obvious situation, but potentially reasonable. Maybe. I dunno.
Major necro, but I just played a fun Tavern Brawl game where Zerek showed up, and I was able to cast Conjurer's Calling on it. That was pretty sweet.
i think that the card is alright but the expansion is wrong.Due to the addition of magnetic i expect a lot of ppl to run 2 silences minimum (excluding priest).Blizzard might be preparing us for buff priest in the next expansion just like the archbishop-psychic synergy(fatigue priest)
Obviously you're supposed trade this card into something with less than 5 attack, then you Holy Fire it. That way, you get it back up to 5 health, and get a 5-point self heal out of it. It's the perfect combo!
It feels like Paladin got the Priest legendary and vice versa
Perfect synergy with Purify... wait
Wow, that's a bad legendary, I don't know what to say. Maybe the remaining unrevealed card are insane, or maybe there's some synergies I don't yet see, but right now as I see it, it's quite bad.
Why would he keep buffs....? Thats not how hearthstone works..
