Dean Ayala: No More Even & Odd Cards for Witchwood
Many players have been worried that there were going to be too many Even and Odd mechanic cards in the set and up until now, all we knew is that not every class would have them. Thanks to Dean for confirming to PC Gamer in an interview that everything we've seen now is it.
Quote from Dean AyalaAre there more even and odd cards we haven't seen?
There's just the four that we revealed in the video plus the two legendaries. That's the totality. We're going to have a lot of Echo and Rush stuff too, which I think are interesting mechanics.
Here are all the currently revealed cards which make use of the mechanics, starting with the most recent.

More Stat Tracking Isn't Needed
In the same interview with PC Gamer, Dean talks about Stat Tracking in China and why he doesn't think the core game needs it.
Quote from Dean AyalaWe have very minimal stat tracking now. We have your level, what your highest arena key is, total wins… and the reason we have that is because we think it's the right amount. It's super high level stuff and there aren't menus of pages tracking how much damage you do on Tuesdays. I think a lot of players do want more data, but I don't think it's necessary for a large majority of the player base. We take the UI very seriously on Hearthstone, where if we can choose not to add another pane then we don't. One of our UI designers always used the phrase "death by a thousand cuts," where you keep adding one more thing…
i only comment here to get the achievement :D
I don't understand why the complete dismissal and lazy excuse for not tracking data doesn't bother people more.
The more tracking you add to the game the more cluttered and slow the game will become for mobile users.
The problems power creep creates at its finest; when the reward of building your deck around odds/evens still doesn't out class DK hero powers.
New cards aren't as strong as old ones. Feelsstrangeman.

So, this is the new "Players can just use excel spreadsheets! They do not need more than 9 deck slots." I wonder what the next shitty excuse for avoiding quality of life updates will be. Oh! I got it! "Animations that lag the game and stall future card play is fun and interactive!" I really wish they would get less retarded people to make these shitty PR statements. They always get the stupidest people that say the dumbest shit.
Easily solved by putting something in the options where you can toggle it on or off. casuals can take a peak but they don't NEED to look at it. by doing this it keeps it clean for a most part if toggled off
The stat-tracking excuse is pretty BS. "Oh, we don't want to mess up the UI." You're telling me it would be that horrible to have an extra button on your profile to see winrates on classes?
I was worried for once luck of the draw wouldn't be too much of a factor with the game-wide Start of the Game effects, but Blizzard showed us they understood concerns over skill and instead made it so each even-or-odd deck contained only a single card ( 2 copies ) that was way above all others in power level and could single handedly turn games around based on whether you drew it or not.
Little Bug: Faulty link on "discuss this card" under Genn Greymane it leads to the wrong card.
If you play the game completely for free, then you have no room to complain.
you can always craft if your are not lucky with opening the free boosters, or after spending gold for them.
so don't waste crafting so many stuff and learn prioritize. this has always been the case for hearthstone. I'm f2p too.
Sorry but no game is meant to be f2p... why would you, as a company, invest in such project? I'm like 90% f2p player- buyed only like half of advantures and once pre-ordered cheaper packs for one expansion, yet I have pretty much every card I for nearly every standard deck and HS is not my "main" game, that is WoW... playing like 2-10 HS matches a day, with more closing to 2 that to 10 and still I am able to have the cards.
Chances are, the entire concept is going to see no play. It is complete dogshit with the currently revealed cards and cubelock as well as Highlander Priest will shit all over those decks with no additional support. Hopefully, the unrelated cards yet to be revealed will help the concept, but I think we might be looking at yet another Freeze Shaman situation: a half-baked idea from some dumb designer that only tried half as hard as they should have.
You do know Highlander priest is long dead by now, right? But other than that, you're pretty much right, cubelock and dude paladin will wreak havoc on anyone who tries a even/odd deck, the only salvation for those is that dude paladin could easily use the graymane hero power, which will lead us into a new level of face. Yay.
The game is not "meant" to be free to play... Publishers make games to make money... Now, whether you want to spend money is up to you, but you can't complain about something you're doing for free.
I think this is good news. I do not want a whole set revolving around a very powerful but restricting mechanic. Although it would be nice to see two Neutral minions with even/odd requirements.
Other than the Legendary minions lol.
