Dean Ayala: No More Even & Odd Cards for Witchwood
Many players have been worried that there were going to be too many Even and Odd mechanic cards in the set and up until now, all we knew is that not every class would have them. Thanks to Dean for confirming to PC Gamer in an interview that everything we've seen now is it.
Quote from Dean AyalaAre there more even and odd cards we haven't seen?
There's just the four that we revealed in the video plus the two legendaries. That's the totality. We're going to have a lot of Echo and Rush stuff too, which I think are interesting mechanics.
Here are all the currently revealed cards which make use of the mechanics, starting with the most recent.

More Stat Tracking Isn't Needed
In the same interview with PC Gamer, Dean talks about Stat Tracking in China and why he doesn't think the core game needs it.
Quote from Dean AyalaWe have very minimal stat tracking now. We have your level, what your highest arena key is, total wins… and the reason we have that is because we think it's the right amount. It's super high level stuff and there aren't menus of pages tracking how much damage you do on Tuesdays. I think a lot of players do want more data, but I don't think it's necessary for a large majority of the player base. We take the UI very seriously on Hearthstone, where if we can choose not to add another pane then we don't. One of our UI designers always used the phrase "death by a thousand cuts," where you keep adding one more thing…
If the UI designer has no idea how to make a "stats page" without making it clunky.... I think they need a new UI designer xD
You missed the point. The existence of another pane, as he called it, they don't feel really adds to the experience of the game, so where do you draw the line of which tiny extras to add to appease to the few.
Glittermoth is going to make OTK beast priest a thing
i think divine spirit and shadow visions are a bit too important to remove from innerfire OTK decks
That's like saying "Reno decks won't be any good because there aren't any other cards that trigger off of the no-duplicates rule." Look how accurate that statement ended up being before you prejudge the even-odd mechanic.
Glad they aren't going too ham into it tbh
thats a shame cause i think Blizzard had the chance to make cards that were overpowered that could encourage players to actually want to build cards with Boku and such. Im pretty sure however since naturally their gonna print even or odd cards just because it happens anyway. Like i keep Mention i think Control Warrior with Baku will be very right if blizzard gives warrior some odd mana cost cards.
I don't really have any kind of formed opinion on stat tracking, but I am very glad that Blizzard isn't over extending into forced synergy territory with the Odd/Even cards. It's good that they aren't committing 5-10 more cards to make the synergy viable. I for one hope that Odd and Even decks can maybe just benefit from so strong Odd/Even cost class cards and neutrals, and that it can be a fun little tier 2-3 deck.
Blizzard: 'We don't need it.'
Few years later: implemented as core feature.
more rush and echo translate to we will charge you as many time as possible
No odd or even cards? Is the whole expansion canceled?
Kappa
Can't wait for the 0.33 ones!!
i don't think secret rogue was going to be an archetype i think rogue secrets were meant to be this flexible standalone cards that adjust to some game plans like people using Cheat Death in Big rogue and some nostalgia Water rogue builds featuring Sudden Betrayal
Supporting statistics in-game would not make the UI more cluttered, it would make it less cluttered because it would remove the need for an entirely separate program and overlay to manage that stuff. If the main obstacle is finding a good place to put a small button, then this should have happened two years ago...
I mean we have plenty of nearly pointless buttons and panels all over the client. Buttons like "Credits"; "Recruit Friends"; the "Shop" button that's duplicated on the main menu and on the pack opening screen; the hero levels that's duplicated in the quest log, in the deck selection screen, and in the new deck screen; and the total level of all your heroes.
This reminds me of when the developers of the Sims said it would be way too complicated to make the game work in offline mode. Then a week later programmes debunked that bollocks statement showing how deleting a single line of code would allow that.
Not saying that is the case here but it would be interesting if some tech savy players could come up with a theory! ^^
They should really get some clues from other CCGs such as ESL or Shadowverse... this reeks of Blizz being too lazy to revamp Hearthstone's lackluster UI :/
