Only reason TBK isn't used nowadays is because the biggest taunt minion most decks will have is Sludge Belcher, and you can see why that wouldn't work out very well for TBK. Should the meta slow down from aggro-midrange to midrange-control (likely given the direction of the currently released cards for this expansion), then bigger taunts (like this) become more appealing and thus TBK also becomes more appealing. He'll always be most relevant right when you'd want him, the benefit of being a tech card.
Plus he's a hard check that helps prevent cards like this from ever really dominating. Can't build a deck around a massive Taunt creature and expect it to be tier 1 with such an efficient answer to your play existing as a neutral. Exactly the same case made with BGH and anything over 6 attack nowadays.

Captain's Parrot is the worst beast in the game

Just purify icehowl after it attacks because you silence away the charge too.

If by fair you mean unplayable, then sure.

If you want card cycle, then Loot Hoarder is for you.
If you want silence, then Silence is for you cause it has a lot more usable scenarios.

Can shadowstep and bounce it back to your own hand though.

Not so. This pirate is shit in N'Zoth decks. But Huckster is good in N'Zoth decks.

I guess Eater of Secrets will be a thing in normal now.

This card is a 2 mana card with a death rattle of - place a Firey Win Axe in my hand. My the time I can use the weapon (T3 or T4 depending on the coin), it's too slow. N'Zoth Rogue depends on Deathrattles with an immediate effect once the DR is triggered. Delayed DR effects like this is just bad. Garbage card this is.
At 2 mana this card would be ok. At 3 mana it's trash. But if it equipped the weapon instead as the deathrattle, then the card would be way better. Alas, in it's current form it's crap.
