I tried Bloodlust Shaman before and it did  not quite work, but then again mine was a bit less Zoo-y and we did not have Jeeves back then. Lack of drawing power and a 'useful' hero power was a problem though. You do not want to be using Hero Power with so many 2-drops in your deck after all, at least not early on.

Point is that this will just play like an odd Zoo until a Bloodlust turn and people have been dealing with Zoo for ages. You do have some advantages over Zoo with your spells, but they also mean that you'll have less minions and some of these minions are of questionable quality (Amani Berserker,  Crazed Alchemist, Acolyte of Pain). You also do not have any 1-drops making your deck slower than any usual aggro.

Does not seem very consistent too me, but I would love to be wrong so let me know how it does for you once you hit Rank 5 and beyond.

Hunter reminds me of the 'Can't Touch This' deck, but I have never tried that so I do not know how viable that was. I think you'll have a hard time keeping any sort of tempo if you are stuck playing traps from your hand though. I get that the order in which you play them is important, but couldn't a Mad Scientist pull its weight in this kind of deck?

Enjoyed reading your post. You tried it before or after nax? Because eggs and little spiders are so much more sticky, they make big difference.

It is true you don't want to play hero power first five turns, but how often ZooLock tap in first 5 turns?

Those totems, while not much useful on their own, become much bigger threat after Flametongue Totem, Defender of ArgusDire Wolf Alpha or Bloodlust.

That being said, weakest matchup of deck is ZooLock personally. Other slower decks just can't find answer to everything and usually end destroyed. Zoolock would pay everything for Flametongue Totem. And Mana Tide Totem or Jeeves are beautiful behind taunts.

Second your point, is lack of true one mana minions. And you got me there, that is weakest point of decks. I tried Argent Squire, ShieldbearerYoung Priestess and much more, and nothing feels right.  Can't find really sticky 1 drop. I want egg at any cost in starting hand, so it is very hard to get those 1-drops. And if you get them latter they just feel very weak. After some time i just accepted that coin makes stronger game. To compensate that weakness, we have monstrous turns 2-5 and with coin 1-5. Egg/knife juggler/little spider into feral spirit into flametongue totem/dire wolf alpha/ rockbiter + abusive are so hard to answer for opponent.

About Amani BerserkerCrazed Alchemist, Acolyte of Pain, they are not core. They are just tech cards and so we run only one of each.

Amani Berserker helps against priest and control warrior, because they drop 1 dmg minions in start. Enrage him, put taunts and trade with big drop. He also kind of mess up 1-2 dmg removals (paladin/priest), knife jugglers etc. Also there is funny combo with Crazed Alchemist where you enrage him, buff him more and swap health. Not so often but when it happen, it wins a game. I like that he have 3 hp for 2 mana, so he is half sticky. All in all justifies one card in deck.

Crazed Alchemist first use is to swap our buffed minions, second use to trade better. But main reason for this card is mirror matchup, this is when you want him in starting hand. Simply removes any flametongue, mana tide or any other totem and change a game. He have so much uses, for example today saved me from Doomsayer against HandLock. Won game in end. Of course again just one in deck, because usually we don't want him in starting hand.

That one Acolyte of Pain can be kicked out. He is usable when you search for that one card to win game. Will not include him without all buff minions we have. He trades sometime for bigger guys, sometime draw more cards. But you also don't want him in starting hand.

About Mad Scientist in hunter deck, at first it sounds reasonable, but think again. Mana is so precious here. You must use hero power whenever you can. Later in game would you like more weak body and random secret (from 4 possible) on board for 2 mana or secret you chose for 2 mana?

We can't keep him in starting hand, because we swap all cards/use tracking in search for Eaglehorn Bow . Only place i would like him is on turn 2 against priest/warrior. Otherwise it's better just to do hero power.  Latter in game when he comes, he just get hexed or removed, because we don't have minions and opponent have lot of removals.

That hunter is not tournament level deck. Sometime it feels weak, and sometime it destroys opponent. In the end it's always funny. But when i want to win lot of games i use Shaman one.

Currently i'm around rank 7. Playing Heartstone and LoL in pause from studying, but i have feeling that with little more time could do much more with those decks. Will make another topic when i hit legend!

Very aggro Paladin A.K.A Shockadin runs x2 Avenging Wrath. There are aggro versions of Paladin with 2 Lay on Hands.

But besides that, if you plan to play standard control/midrange Paladin, you need just one Lay on Hands.

Quartermaster is new popular Paladin epic, think about crafting them x2.

Well man you are wining less than 50% of games. Maybe it have something with your play, not just decks.

So if you plan to play ZooLock go first read something like this:

    http://www.liquidhearth.com/forum/constructed-strategy/472533-comprehensive-guide-to-zoolock

If you are playing control warrior it gets even more complicated, find few good texts how to improve your game. Sounds like you need some new knowledge for next level.

I am not sure about this one. You can use him in Paladin decks. Also amaz use him in Priest deck together with Blingtron 3000.

    cons and pros:

-there are lot of ZooLock and Priests those days

-he is better on tournaments, where every third game is against control warrior

-he feels kind a bad against hunters, you don't want him in starting hand because games goes so fast

+at least one card draw against rouge (there are less rouges those days)

+it feels so good when you destroy doomhamer or jaraxxus weapon!

+good against warriors, if you play lot against them

For shaman I would either replace the bloodlusts ,for removal because it's a lot more consistant, or take out 1x copies of minions for stickier ones (for bloodlust) e.g. Harvest Golem, Shredders. Also while onyxia has potential it's way too slow to work in this deck.

Sidenote: things like arcane golem could be removed for crackle it's just really good + bypasses taunt.

Yea, truth about Arcane Golem. He was junk. Already kicked him from team before few days. Just testing different solutions on his place. Good point there.

Now where are you wrong. This deck most of the time play Feral Spirit on turn 3, which overloads us for 2 on turn 4. Which make 3/4 mana minions so much worse because you can't play them till turn 5. Believe me, i would pay all the money for 2 mana weaker version of Shredder. Also because of all of this, Harvest Golem in practice is not that great as you would expect here.

About Bloodlust. Man, whole deck is build around this card. Without 2x Bloodlust this all would be for nothing. In that case just go and play standard Shaman with Doomhammer and Fire Elemental. Look, we can't compete with ZooLock even with removals. And against all other deck, just use bloodlust as removal, it work wonders! That card is soul of deck! That card is overpowered in every way possible here. In my 200+ games with this deck, i never found this card useless in my hand. Trust me, you will almost always have control of board till turn 6-7, and if you lost your board against that ZooLock, one lighting storm will not save your game. You can use it as hard removal if you have any board control, and you will have board control. All starts and ends with that card.

Now about Onyxia. This one is open to debate. You say it is slow, and you are just half right there. You trade your board with his. Play 8/8 + 6x1/1 and what your opponent can do next turn?

In practice, most of the time he manage to kill 8/8 and  5-6 little guys survive. Now put in 2x bloodlust, or 1x bloodlust, or flametongue totem or even dire wolf alpha. And you won a game. But i can understand if you don't like this card. You can put Dr. Boom in deck in place of Onyxia and it will do similar job (dr_boom + minion/hero power for 9 mana).

Now if you have some spare time just give it a try, i can bet in all my legendary cards that after few runs you will not think 2xBloodlust is bad with such a hard-to-kill heroes on board.

I already have that Mech Mage deck, I am trying something different, but appreciate the suggestion.

Cool. But still frostbolt and mecha yeti spare parts sounds good in combination with Antonidas.

I like that you experiment on your own and not just copy paste internet decks.

posted a message on Critique my mid-range/control Mage deck!

    Some ideas:

    Out:

-owl, you don't need to brake taunts fast, nor you have deck synergy with it

-flamestrike, 2 sounds like to much, i would play 0 in this deck

-healbot, you are not warlock, nor have giants to play down and up with health

-maybe out Belcher for azure drake or something

    In:

+Mecha yeti (x2) in place of Kezan and maybe Nullifier, great body + spare parts for 4 mana

+Blizard or another fireball or another frostbolt in place of second flamestrike

+Lotheb, to protect your board, against that mind control for example

+second goblin blastmage, he is very good if you have mech in deck

    +mechwraper and harvest golem (mech)

I had the tournament more like running aside while doing other stuff so yeah, you are probably right and I'm wrong. But Troggzor just seems to be not as good as everyone thought. Sure, "blocking" spells is nice but in the end it's a 6/6 body while Boom is a pseudo 9/9 with burst potential. The BGH potential is higher but even though there are a lot of Handlocks out there I don't face a lot BGH which might be because beside Boom I don't play any 7+ minions but it just seems to not have a space in the current meta. That's probably the thing. There are a huge amount of great cards and only 30 slots and Troggzor just isn't worth one. We are in a strange state at the moment but that does make it interesting.

Agree. In best case it gives you 4 mana minion after AOE clear, which is not game changing. And in worst case it's just 6/6 for 7 mana.

Let's not forget that strifeco dominated everything with his mage deck.

For me it's interesting fact that he used Dr. Boom in all 4 decks and Troggzor in none.

I still can't decide which one is better Troggzor or Lotheb.

Did anyone at all bring Troggzor? As far as I can tell form the top of my head there are not really a lot pros running Troggzor. Seems like more people play stuff like Sneeds than Troggzor.

Well yes, from first 4 players:
Firebat in warrior deck.  Powder in Druid and Paladin decks.

Amaz and StrifeCro did not run it.

    Salty dog = 1 for 1

Greenskin while weapon up = 2 for 1.

You would be better off with a yeti.

Yea that is general opinion. But i like him for some reason, it happens that enemy can't deal with him from time to time and then he become such a huge treat.

Another idea, he can use azure drake. Not a pirate, but otherwise nice replacement.

You can try Salty Dog. He is a Pirate, also 5 mana, and 1/1 on weapon for 2 attack on minion is not a huge loss.
