You have the weirdest criteria for what you consider a good deck. There are many, many decision points as you play it, so it's certainly not brainless.

Grandmasters is completely irrelevant because fewer than 50 people in the world are involved.

It's not just "okay" on ladder. It's actually one of the highest win rate decks out there, over 59 percent. That means one of three things:

    1. It truly is brainless, meaning even a bad player can win with it; therefore it is actually a very strong deck, or
    2. It is just an okay deck that many players are somehow using to beat all the other, better decks, which means it's not brainless, or
    3. It is neither brainless nor "just okay."

In any case, there's something wrong with your argument.

(I'm not saying there's reason to nerf it. I'm just saying it's strong and not brainless, and fine as it is.)

It's pretty brainless in the context of hearthstone, obviously it's a hyperbole because no deck could truly be brainless but it's the lowest skill ceiling in the meta, very linear gameplan, and there really isn't that much decision making.  I don't really see the "many decisions points".  All you need is basic hearthstone fundamentals for playing any aggressive deck.  You curve out, trade when you can be punished, and build a board resilient to opponents removal.  You usually don't even have that many lines available because it's a very curvestone deck.

Where is the 59% from? if you mean from the hsreplay overall then that isn't any more relevant than grandmasters because you're including lower ranks.  Other "okay" decks like Zoo and Token druid also have 59%ish winrates there because they're linear gameplan and counterplay isn't optimal at lower ranks.

you stupid? mech hunter is defo up there

nah mech hunter is trash.  it's good at lower ranks but has one of the lowest skill ceilings in the game.  It's winrate goes down the higher you go up the ladder.   It doesn't have a single match win in grandmasters even in matches it's supposed to be favored like mage and warrior.  It's an ok ladder deck because it's consistency and highrolls will keep you above 50% but it's certainly not one of the best decks.

In all seriousness it's a solid deck but there is no reason to nerf it.  I guess the popularity is something to consider but that is just because it's the cheapest most brainless deck.

lol at nerfing hunter.  It isn't even particularly strong much less oppressively so.  I wouldn't put a hunter deck in the top five best decks right now, certainly not top three.

Unstable Evolution and Witch's Brew in mage.  Krag'wa, the Frog and Zentimo in a lot of things.  EVIL conscriptor in any class with a semblance of tempo.  Any shitty hard removal in druid.  Academic Espionage and Togwaggle's Scheme in warrior

That's the point of the thread, mate

Zentimo and Kragwa are the nuts in shaman.  Purple was playing high legend with a cool control shaman deck with them.  Other classes could use them better probably but they are definitely not bad in shaman.

posted a message on I haven't played much this season, did the buffs shake up the meta any?

    For sure.

Shaman has some experimenting to do because token, aggro, and control all seem to have potential.  thunderhead was already strong and now it's the nuts.  stormbringer can instawin against decks that don't have board clears.  People have been hitting high legend with some of the token decks (someone just hit #1 a few hours ago)

mech pally seems solid and is probably a real deck now.

mage is playing around with luna's, and that is probably going to be a thing.

warrior is not enjoying the classes that got buffed.  I'd say it's the class that is enjoying the patch the least at the moment.  but all these bomb hunters and mech pallies lose to decks that get on the board and hurt them faster, which warrior beats, so it could all come back around.

uhmm yeah the big bugs did not happen because a overload of servers
but just because they dont test it if they did test there update they had noticed that as example no token generation in arena

how do you know any of this?

i'm not saying it is an overload of servers, just that things could be different when the update goes live versus just testing it.

it's almost like things can go differently when you put something on test servers versus putting them on actual live servers that tons of people connect to.

Not saying it couldn't have been better but it's got to be a little more complicated than "you just test it and then everything works without a single error".

posted a message on Token druid, a cancer on a otherwise good expansion

It's funny how posts like this age now that the expansion has been out a while.  Token druid doesn't have a very polarized matchup spread for wins or losses.   You know their strategy and there is counterplay to it for every single class.  The deck is just fine, don't be mad because you got savage roar'd.  classes like mage, hunter, rogue are doing so much more broken things that are harder to counter than druid.  token druid is a pretty good deck but it is a notch below being one of the top decks, and some people enjoy its style of play, like myself.  It's not that easy to play either, the only time it's easy is if your opponent isn't doing anything to stop you.

In fact, the decks linear and predictable strategy make it less successful at higher levels of play which is why it's winrate is inflated on sites like hsreplay.  It isn't a tier 1 deck.

    Quote from C_A_W >>

Token Druid is not hard to counter, everything except Cyclone Mage wins against it.

You're actually unfavored against Cyclone mage as token druid.  Trust me I play a lot of token (and trust the stats), you don't want to queue into mage.  Outside of their conjurer's on giant combo often locking you out of the game completely, they have all kinds of disruption for you.  Sea giants, mirrors image, freeze effects, mana cyclone turns and just magic trick in general will ruin you because so many mage spells are good against token.  That's not to mention the techs that not all the lists run but still ruin you that you don't even know to play around like rabble bouncer, doomsayer, mc tech, etc.

The mage needs to know how to play the matchup though.  The only way they lose is by being to greedy and not fighting for board early or by having a terrible hand, but anyone can lose with a terrible hand.

posted a message on What are your top three strongest expansions?
    Quote from Zpbridge >>

Agreed. Do you think Un'Goro had more of an impact on its meta than ROS does on the current?

I think so. but it's kind of apples an oranges.  KOTFT and K&C were insanely powerful because a lot of the archetype defining epics and legendaries, a lot of them being class cards.  Those expansions are more comparable to RoS.

But Ungoro had so many neutrals, commons, rares kind of cards that just defined the meta for two years.  Not always archetype defining cards, but just strong ass cards you put in any deck.  Tar creeper, Devilsaur Egg, Firefly, Gluttonous Ooze, Stonehill Defender, Viscous Fledgling, Primordial Drake.  A lot of strong class cards too.  Then you have quests which produced a few super strong decks and you also have Lyra and Sunkeeper Tarim being two incredibly strong legendaries.

I think all three year of the mammoth sets were the strongest.  It put team 5 in a position where they had to lower the power level of the game because continually printing cards that were equal to or better than YOTM cards just wasn't even healthy.

Holy shit I just fucking rolled this midrange hunter so hard as control shaman

on 3 he animal companion'd misha

I far sight and drew a 0 mana spirit of the frog

on turn 4 he houndmaster and hit face

on turn 4 i had just a spell totem up.  i played the 0 mana spirit of the frog, coined to draw earth shock, played zentimo and hit his three minions with earth shock and totemic smash, then mutated my board into loot hoarder, chillwind yeti, and a spellbreaker.

    fucking tempo plays boi
