I really like Violet Spellsword in my Shaman decks. It has great value because of the number of spells used for control Shaman. Typically she will be at least a 3-4/6 and I even get 5-6/6. Great value for 4 Mana and Shudderwock benefits from it too.
I've actually seen people run Electrowright and Sunreaver Warmage as well, but I don't think there is room for those type of cards in the deck.
Is actually anybody successfuly laddering in the rank 1-5 bracket? I am having huge issues tweaking my decks to counter at the same time mage, rogue and warrior. This is my current deck.
Does anyone have some useful advice? The new card here is Roten Appelbaum. It may seem weird but the extra healing and taunt have actually saved me so many times vs aggro
I have to say I have tried Gaara's deck with spirit of the frog and it was an utter disaster so I'm not going in that direction because I don't know how to use it effectively.
This is just a theorycraft, but this version should be able to check the decks in your meta I think:
Early game removal and cheap value minions (Ooze, Menacing Nimbus, Sludge Slurper) should help with aggressive decks like Rogue, Hunter, Zoo and Murloc Shaman. There is also enough heal to recover once you stabilize. To cover Mages you have double BGH, Hex and Hagatha's Scheme. The deck also has enough value to outlast Control Warrior (with Hagatha + Elysianna + Shudder), Unseen Saboteur wrecks Mecha'thun versions. Bomb Warrior should be manageable as well (try to get Witch's Brew + Krag'wa, the Frog).
I know people say Augmented Elekk is bad, but it feels so good to me. I'm not talking about his effect combined with Dire Frenzy, but just in general as a 3-mana beast. It's great to fight for the board. Rat Trap was used over the weapon at one point, but it was easily played around in the early stages of the game, which is where the battle is often fought. Yes, weapon removal sucks, but that also forces people to make alternative plays.
I kept hope until the final episode, but I guess it's fair to say this has to be the worst possible thing that ever happened on television. This wasn't only an insult against the characters, but also against the fans. Beyond redemption, I'll never rewatch this show again. Most disappointed moment of my life fml
This is the version I had most success with. Other version felt way too greedy for me, and I lost most games against any type of Aggro, and sometimes Control match-ups as well (luckiest Elysianna wins). Now my winrate is in the high 60% (rank 10-5).
The early game consists of low costed value-giving minions and cheap removal. If the games go longer there is a lot more value to be gained to grind out those. Tech options can be added depending on your meta, mine was mostly Rogue and Hunter so no need for the likes of Big Game Hunter or Unseen Saboteur.
There is a lot that needs to happen still in this single episode:
1) Brann's story needs to be finished. They showed him being able to change things in the past twice (Hodor and yelling at young Ned), so I'm sure something will happen with that. Shame Brann hasn't done anything this season yet, because he could've prevented much of events that took place. This might intertwine with Tyrion's ending, since they "talked". Also the whole Jaime might still be alive theory (since he got no farewell on social media nor did he get his "death" interview) would be very good to salvage his character-arc somewhat. All the remaining characters need some sort of closure, not just the main cast, but the likes of Yara Greyjoy and Bronn as well. And what is going on in Essos etc?
2) They need to take care of Daenerys. Killing her isn't really an option because all the Dothraki are her bloodriders so they'll have to die too, and Drogon is not letting anyone hurt his mom. I doubt Westeros has enough strength left to fight her, so either she fixes everything (Brann's time-travel can work here) or leave for Essos peacefully and maintain the peace she brought there as redemption for her crimes. ... Or she burns everyone left in Westeros, but that isn't bittersweet ... . Jon hasn't done anything for the story this season, and the Lord of Light brought him back for a reason, which apparently had nothing to do with the Night King (he can't be brought back to kill Daenerys because if he stayed dead, she would not have become the Mad Queen in the first place). Maybe he's the one that goes back in time, keeping his secret or something.
Lets hope to end on a positive note. The last couple of episodes were a bit subpar, but no need to complain before it's all over. There should still be a plot twist coming, to explain everything. Unfortunately, with only 75 minutes left, it will probably feel rushed again, but I hope they'll take their time on some scenes. We'll see tonight if I might sign that remake petition or not xd
How are the Mana Tides doing ? Wouldn't Far Sight be better for the potential high roll on Fountain/Hagatha things like that ?
It's at worse a Far Sight that doesn't discount. but it could get value by drawing more, as a minion it activates Hagatha the Witch and can get used with some random spells like Mutate, Bloodlust etc, it baits removal/ "heals" 3 damage from my face etc. I like it more then Spirit of the Frog personally.
The fact that he is still struggling reaching legend while other streamers have got there already says everything about control shaman. It is OK until rank 5. After that it can't cope with the variety of pushing decks
elekk is too greedy 1 rhino + 1 unleash the beast + 2 dire frenzy is already enough to be favored against control decks 2 rhino + 2 unleash + 2 dire frenzy = rampage +elekk = rape cut elekk put rhino instead
Hey, like I said I like the Elekk because it's an on curve beast with good stats for a 3-drop. I'll try it 1-1 for now, thanks ;)

Don't know if this works, but try it out :p

Did 83 games from rank 20 to 5 (on EU). Made some changes along the way, this version is the one I feel most comfortable with:

Last but not least, I did add a copy of Tundra Rhino (preferred over Stranglethorn Tiger).

Jaime killed Aerys and Euron and tried to kill Daenerys and Brann. A real KingKiller lol

I think double Bog Slosher is way too greedy, and Krag'wa, the Frog as well imo but it helps vs Warriors I guess. Maybe Hecklebot for their Elysianna or Mecha'thun etc?

My friend is named AfricanMonkey and was also banned. Never knew the reason but if it is because of the name than that is just bs lol

I like Leeroy in Zoo more then Rafaam and Barrista is a win-more card imo, there are a lot of better cards you can craft.

Currently trying out a version with Spirit of the Frog and Thunderhead shennanigans. It's actually pretty good!

Like what? Animal Companion or Master's Call work best if you have board, and Hero Powering turn 3 sucks.

He reached Legend with only Shaman though.
