user-100041474 posted a message on Second Balance Patch Coming Next Week - Nerf to Millhouse & Larger BG Patch ComingPosted in: NewsIt's a bottom tier deck right now.
It was already only Tier 3 when Barnes got nerfed.
If you still have problems facing Big Priest with a meta deck, you likely have major misconceptions about how to play the game.

Gryhis posted a message on New Demon Hunter Common Card Revealed - Crimson Sigil RunnerPosted in: NewsThis card seems stronger than it actually is, if it's in your opening hand theres a 1 in 3 chance its on the left, if it's not you toss it back, I'd imagine this is the case in most senarios. It is weaker than Kobold Librarian because it is not as consistent, In card game consistency is everything

GetchX posted a message on 10 New Classic Cards, Vanish & Mind Blast to Hall of FamePosted in: NewsIn my opinion, the developers should never have laid down these 'Class Breakdowns". It is only going to come back and bite them in the rear! Some of these identities already don't really make sense in the context of the nerfs they've already done. Druid has Mana Generation as a strength, yet 3 of the Standard and Classic mana generation cards (Wild Growth, Innervate, and Nourish) have been nerfed already. Again, just my opinion here, but they should just focus on making balanced cards to make the game fun. Class identity should of course be a consideration, but NOT a limitation!
I don't think anything they said was really groundbreaking. Once you've played this game a few months it's pretty obvious what the class identities and weaknesses are supposed to be. I do agree there's going to be some backlash, though, but there's backlash with anything Blizz posts (or doesn't post). I rather they speak more than less, so anything they give is good.
Do note that they nerfed those Druid cards, not Hall of Famed them, because they still fit the identity; they were already too strong for the classic set such that no other cards could be printed that would compete with them without being overpowered. Same reason why they nerfed Fiery War Axe to 3 mana, because while Warrior /is/ a weapon class, there was no way they could print a new weapon that would replace War Axe without being insanely OP. In this case, they are HoF'ing the cards because it just doesn't fit with their identities at all, and allows the class to do things they shouldn't be able to (priests were way worse than rogues here, IMO).
They HoF'd Naturalize, since druids shouldn't be good at killing minions (although Blizz has printed three single-minion removals for Druid so far now). That, according to Blizz, doesn't fit with their identity.
Nothing is worse than being forced into a particular style of play based off of the class you've chosen. Variety and innovation make the game more interesting, challenging, and FUN!
Er... the idea is that you pick the class that best suits your playstyle. No aggro player would pick priest, and no control player would pick Hunter. Classes shouldn't be able to do everything; having an identity is good. Your not "forced" into anything, unless you did a bad choice of picking your class to begin with.

ShadowsOfSense posted a message on Reckless Experimenter Nerf Coming June 3Posted in: NewsWell, I'd much rather they nerf Reckless Experimenter than SN1P-SN4P - I'd like my full dust refund on an Epic, thank you! This also future-proofs a little without breaking any of the current combos (as far as I'm aware). Really, making anything cost (0) is super iffy.
If it turns out SN1P-SN4P is still a problem in Wild, we'll get more card nerfs and more potential dust!

Time will tell if Murgur is a passable control finisher; given the pool of available murlocs, I'm highly skeptical. Even though they get Divine Shield, hoping to high roll for another Murgur isn't a great place to be in.
As far as theme goes, I'm tired of murlocs, especially in Paladin. This could have been an awesome Draenei or Human hero, but instead we just got some random murloc with cooking implements attached to its hands. Not thrilled about opening this card, even if it does turn out to be a good finisher for the libram deck.

Way more people would complain if the DH didn't make a splash, after all that development time. Blizzard is also way more receptive to nerving problematic cards now, so I have some faith in this new class release.

What, you don't like infinite value cards that offer no counterplay?

Just watched a Masters Tour game decided by YogBox.
Blizzard is addicted to RNG. Discover a spell. Discover a Mage minion. Discover a Taunt minion. Add 3 Mechs to your hand. Cast random spells with random targets. Build a deck with no duplicates. Discover the perfect card!
All of which completely ignores how, being a CCG, the game is inherently RNG based. Sure, not every game should play out the same. But right now we need to stage an intervention for Team 5 and tell them how much RNG is destroying us and them.

It's not the best wording, Blizz means they're weak at inflicting face damage with spells, not weak at sustaining it.

Staple card in Big Shaman, a must-remove minion that can be cheated out numerous times.

Crystalsong Portal has a really high floor on power level (Druid minions are generally pretty damn good) and is critical to token Druid recovering from board wipes.

I enjoy setting and reinforcing the "ceiling" of the meta, preventing combo and control from getting too degenerate by demanding early responses to my threats. It's both empowering and a service to the meta by requiring consistency and planning from non-aggro decks over a nuclear arms race of "who can play the biggest threat first"

Aggro and midrange are always strong early in an expansion (especially post-rotation), as they are very proactive decks. Give it time. And give it a Hungry Crab.
