I've had some success with Commencement Control Warrior, even against Mage. Warrior still has a ridiculously powerful suite of removal, and nobody is playing around Brawl. I think Warrior is better positioned than people suspect but I doubt it will be dominant in a (theoretical) post-Spell Mage meta.
Time will tell if Murgur is a passable control finisher; given the pool of available murlocs, I'm highly skeptical. Even though they get Divine Shield, hoping to high roll for another Murgur isn't a great place to be in.
As far as theme goes, I'm tired of murlocs, especially in Paladin. This could have been an awesome Draenei or Human hero, but instead we just got some random murloc with cooking implements attached to its hands. Not thrilled about opening this card, even if it does turn out to be a good finisher for the libram deck.
Way more people would complain if the DH didn't make a splash, after all that development time. Blizzard is also way more receptive to nerving problematic cards now, so I have some faith in this new class release.
This game has suffered since beta because of brawl. It's always been a garbage card and continues to be so. This goes for the person playing it or receiving it. Rng is fine except when it coin flips a game. Watch games vs warrior or playing warrior brawl outcome is still a huge factor on win/lose.
Hard agree. HoF Brawl and put the new Plague in its place or something, I dunno. I'm tired of staring at the screen waiting to see which minion lives, knowing the game will likely hinge on it
Just watched a Masters Tour game decided by YogBox.
Blizzard is addicted to RNG. Discover a spell. Discover a Mage minion. Discover a Taunt minion. Add 3 Mechs to your hand. Cast random spells with random targets. Build a deck with no duplicates. Discover the perfect card!
All of which completely ignores how, being a CCG, the game is inherently RNG based. Sure, not every game should play out the same. But right now we need to stage an intervention for Team 5 and tell them how much RNG is destroying us and them.
Mage is a bigger problem overall than Warrior. Aside from the perennial brokenness of Mountain Giant resulting in easy wins with CC, the amount of random garbage they can conjure out of thin air obliterates any hope of counterplay. And for some reason Mages generating random spells wasn't enough - if I see one more Antonidas off Messenger Raven I'm going to lose my mind. Creating random spells (as well as even more crap like duplicating their starting hand) just means a frustrating time for their opponent. Ironically the Mage's suite of complete rng nonsense usually has the same conclusion: getting stomped by some giant 1 mana minion.
This isn't to say Warriors are perfectly fine. There's basically no reason to not run the Mech package with Dr Boom if you're playing Warrior. Suggestions like only giving Rush to Mechs in your deck are good, and something needs to happen with control Warrior's redundant suite of tools (a board wide Execute for 5 mana? Really?). But it shouldn't happen without nerfs to Mages.
Well, seeing as how you're playing Elysiana for the control mirror and not the aggro/midrange matchups you mentioned that doesn't seem very fair to the rest of us, does it? Avoiding inconvenient matchups and only play the ones you're favored in?
I agree with what everybody is saying about Elysiana's power level. She's quite good but very clear and specific in her usage. A good design that supports a specific archetype and encourages strategizing and smart decision making.
I do think you shouldn't be able to discover more copies of her with her own ability, though. If you have other ways of copying her/her ability (Shudds, Baleful, etc), great. That's why they exist, to let you get away with crazy stuff. Even if you get her off Rafaam, great. But she shouldn't be able to duplicate herself; that's RNG on top of RNG and can decide a match through no fault of either player.
Kangor's is crucial to regaining tempo. No other Paladin card in rotation has an effect even remotely similar to it. You can try a high cost minion of some sort but it won't come remotely close to Endless Army.
Go back to the drawing board with this one. Zero recourse against Murloc Shaman (unless you draw THE PERFECT hand) and no recourse against Bomb Warrior, unless Brawl are the final two cards in their deck.

What, you don't like infinite value cards that offer no counterplay?

It's not the best wording, Blizz means they're weak at inflicting face damage with spells, not weak at sustaining it.

The Virgin control player versus the Chad aggro player

Have you whiffed on Prismatic Lens a lot and drawn Shirvallah, the Tiger? Seems like a big risk

Staple card in Big Shaman, a must-remove minion that can be cheated out numerous times.
