Rafaam is better than Elise Starseeker, because he's faster and offers taunt on top of having a good stated body. As a control warlock player:

It's a totally dead card up until turn 7 and you can't play it whenever you want to like Elise. You're acting like there aren't a bunch of glaring negatives with this card.

The equality nerf was specifically related to Baku imo, which is very short-sighted and quite frankly, bullshit.  Baku will rotate out eventually so they destroy a classic card because they made odd pally too op? Should've nerfed Baku by changing the hero power to one 2/2 recruit.  Would've solved everything.

Unfortunately Blizzard appears to no longer nerfs legendaries, so instead classic cards are being fucked around with.

This is exactly what I think and I totally agree with you. Like point for point.

posted a message on Been playing for over 3 years, just came back after not playing for 2 months, what are these nerfs?

So after reading through some patch notes, I am honestly bewildered and kind of scared for the state of this game as it stands.

    Equality? 4 Mana now?

This has to be the most insane nerf I've seen in a while. Honestly I could make a case for it being THE craziest nerf I have ever seen.

    1. This card has been a staple in Paladin Decks since, well, forever

    • It does well in token decks, allowing smaller minions to take out bigger minions
    • It does well in control decks, allowing for an amazing 2-card clear

I just don't understand this at all. It seems like a change made in response to a problem that has only arisen of recent, and it seems to be only in response to recent meta changes.

I need some opinions on these changes and perhaps an explanation as to why this was justified. Please help me out here

posted a message on Review - Arena & Standard

    Rating scale

1-Terrible, will never see play because it's so awful

    2-Bad, won't likely see play

3-Average, in the right meta sees play

4-Great, going to see a decent amount of play

    5-Should see tons of play

    Neutral

    Belligerent Gnome

    3.5/5

    Why?

This card has decent midrange potential. Against aggro decks you are basically guaranteed to hit this condition if you're going second on Turn 2. (By this I mean you started with the coin) If you went first, playing it on turn 3 really isn't that bad either, making this a good card in a lot of situations. Not only that, but even when you don't hit the condition it's still a decent card. 1/4 taunt for 2 mana is actually serviceable. I feel like this will likely see play in standard and will be a great pick in Arena.

    Ticket Scalper

    2/5

    Why?

Yeah, so if this sees play in Standard, I will be shocked. Pirate decks are usually tempo decks and this card's statline leans towards that aggro/tempo playstyle. However, it has 3 health and on turn 4 that should never stick unless your opponent has a terrible hand or you're just way ahead. Hitting the condition is extremely difficult too because it means your opponent HAS to have a minion on the board and it HAS to have 4 health or less. Just way too specific. It needs the help of another card to be viable, (there are cards that can make this viable, it's not THAT bad) but by itself it's just bad. In Arena, it's meh. Health total isn't as much of  factor and it has a much higher chance of sticking on the board than in Standard. (Obviously)

    Sharkfin Fan

    2.5/5

    Why?

Maybe Rogue? Besides Pirate Rogue this card serves no purpose in Standard. It just doesn't do anything when it hits the board and doesn't have great stats. There's definitely potential here though so I'm not counting it out entirely. Should be decent in Arena actually. It provides a way to fill the board at no additional cost and that has a place in Arena for sure.

    Druid

    Savage Striker

    2.5/5

    Why?

If this card had a beast tag I would give it a 3 but as it stands I don't really see this card having much of a place. I don't think I need to explain this one all too much. A 2/3 is a good statline and it features a decent bonus so it should be pretty good in Arena.

    Hunter

    Baited Arrow

    3.5/5

    Why?

Spell Hunter anyone? Pretty decent card actually and it CAN go face which provides a little more flexibility and shouldn't be undervalued by any means. Hits the condition very circumstantially but it can definitely be managed since it comes right out of your hand unlike a minion. Should be great in Arena by the way. Like, really really good in Arena.

    Springpaw

    3/5

    Why?

Nothing really crazy about this card. A decent one drop for Hunter I guess but I don't see how it's better than Dire Mole. Maybe there will be some synergies like with Toxmonger that will expose the full potential of this card. You never know. In Arena, it's meh.

    (Will continue later)

Really not as bad as people are making this out to be. Likely won't see much play but still not a bad card by any means

There are more efficient ways to play two cards in order to draw two cards in Warrior.

It's a combo that breaks even and digs you 3 cards deeper into your deck for 6 mana.

6 mana, play 2 cards (Scalper, Boots), draw 1 card (boots), deal 5 damage w/ rushing Scalper(and presumably remove a card from your opponent), draw 2 cards.

But I'm not sure if that's good, in particular because Rocket Boots is just bad on its own, and Scalper is suspect on its own. And that's a lot of mana for something, as you said, Warrior doesn't actually have much difficulty doing.

Yeah these weird combos tend to never work out. When a card is only in a deck for one other card it never ends well. There would have to be other cards that Ticket Scalper and Rocket Boots both synergize with in the deck in question for that combo to ever see play.

If I had to push as far as realistically possible to create a mech perfect for being a magnetic target, it would have been this. Super cheap, super durable, and yet not abusable by aggro. Great design.

I hope magnet warrior/paladin/hunter actually becomes a thing.

Sorry but you're totally wrong. This is definitely abusable by aggro. Lmfao 6 stats STICKS and Aggro relies heavily on constant damage. This card provides that, be it just one damage.

It can also be buffed in the form of cold blood on turn 3 for a ton of tempo, a 3 mana 5/5 is insane. So yes, very easily abusable by aggro.

Seems slow. What makes Auctioneer so good is that you can draw into cards that can draw you more cards whereas this only draws minions and doesn't add fuel to the fire
