Control doesn't dominate aggro like it used to, so yes, it looks that way to me for now.

But aggro dominates combo and combo dominates control. So that leaves control the odd one out, sadly.

Also don't forget that DH has a 32+ OTK damage setup. With the complete absence of good anti-combo in standard there's not much you can do about that.

You can kill them before they assemble the combo. I feel like the OTK deck is slightly besides this discussion, as combo decks that get to the very end of their deck and put together their 6+ card combo should beat you most times, IMO, unless you kill them first.

Millhouse's card text read "Enemy spells cost (0) next turn", not "Change the cost of spells in your opponents hand to (0)". IE. swapping shoud just give your opponent the chance to play your spells for free?

How are you faring with generating lackeys for Tog? I'd imagine it's harder with only EVIL Miscreant and no invoke cards.

I would have expected it to work this way, honestly. Fate Weaver (and cards with similar requirements) activate once you've done something (invoke). IE. it doesn't really matter which Galakrond is being Invoked (you or your opponent's), as long as you are the one doing the invoking.

Whereas Galakrond itself is going to upgrade when Invokes are played by the deck (/hand) it belongs to. Makes sense when you look at the wording of the cards, no?

I can see Kael'thas Sunstrider getting nerfed from every third spell to every fourth spell.  Maybe even every fifth spell.  That's a little too harsh though.

I think this is the issue - even nerfing him to four spells would probably, in my opinion, make him unplayable. Not because you can't put together four spells in a turn, but because it's suddenly near impossible to chain more than one free spell. I think five spells is unthinkable, that would make him straight trash (which is not the point of nerfs).

Perhaps, as I've seen some suggest, the "DQA"-solution could work? IE. making every third spell cost 1. Leaves some room to chain his effect, with Innervate and Lightning Bloom.

Arbitrary can be used to describe a statement which forces personal opinion upon others. So the statement IS arbitrary.

And as I said, I obviously know the statement is his opinion. The problem which you want to ignore so badly is that he uses his personal view to disregard others' opinions.

If you actually read everything carefully, you would notice that his rant (at least the part I quoted) isn't "I think the game is fun". It is "the game is fun to me and people keep whining, because they disagree with me". So he is whining about people whining due to having a different view than he does.

Also if you read his original post, which was heavily downvoted, you would see that it was rude, much worse than this rant. Clearly the dude disregards everyone, who dares to have a different opinion and calls every form of discussion presenting a different view "whining". Yeah, totally not arbitrary.

How precisely is he "forcing his personal opinion upon others"? He's complaining about the incessant complaints from around the forum. And he's not saying you can't find the meta bad contrary to his view, but that from his perspective this complaining has grown out of proportions. And that people on here don't recognize the positive things Blizzard does, in his view. Like I said, you've built yourself a straw man.

I didn't read his original post, and I don't really care to. I don't necessarily agree with him, if only because "NERF IT NOW"- and "I'M QUITTING HS 4EVER"-post have been standard procedure in the first month after every expansion for as long as I've been on here. So it's nothing new.

Again, it's not arbitrary. Something arbitrary is random or without reason, often used in the context of application of authority. By your logic, almost any expression of personal opinion would be arbitrary.

And your point is invalid because you've created a big straw man. OP wrote it "seems" like the meta is fun and engaging. You've either not read that part or chosen to ignore it (even though you've quoted it) - because your condescending rant makes no sense if OP actually has considered these to be subjective terms. Which, in my opinion, he clearly has.

He's not claiming to be factually "right" as far as I can see, he's expressing his opinion. Which you yourself write above.

However, ever since Raz Rumble it has been consistent and very helpful. The meta has seemed fun and  more engaging and less boring than in the past thanks to Blizzard’s thankless efforts.

Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds? Such arbitrary statement? Yes, this is not the best community. Many members of it are plain idiots. And people do like to complain about everything. But to say that "the meta is fun and more engaging" is just... no. You realize that "fun" and "engagement" are subjective terms? And if people talk about the game being not fun, it's not because they like to waste time on pointless babble, but, just maybe, they don't find it actually fun?

    o.O

So you missed the part where he wrote it seems fun, even though it's included in the quote you replied to? Or did you just ignore it, since that would invalidate your entire point towards OP?

I also think you need to look up the word "arbitrary".

posted a message on The Ultimate Highlander Warrior!
    Quote from Shadowrisen >>

Doctor Krastinov:  In most warrior decks, the Ancharr! makes it so that the good Doctor is solidly inferior to Captain Greenskin.  Because you aren't using that particular weapon, it's perhaps slightly better to have the rush component, but I suspect since you only use two weapons, the reality is he needs to be replaced completely.  I would consider a little extra beef to the deck in this slot.  Original Alexstraza or Ysera are possibilities, as is Grom Hellscream.

I agree on your other points, and I'd also question the good Doctor in this deck. But mostly because you only run two weapons, none of which have amazing synergy with weapon buffs and you're not really looking to swing face with control warrior anyway. Captain Greenskin isn't necessarily better than Krastinov with Ancharr, either - often I find that his pirate tag gets in the way of things when I really want to draw Risky Skipper. But here, with no pirate synergy, I'd absolutely choose Doctor Krastinov.

Alexstraza doesn't do much in a deck like this, IMO. You're not looking to finish him, and I'd want tempo/removal over the ability to self heal. You already have ways to run up your armor. Ysera is much to slow and has basically been power creeped out of the game a while ago. I'd skip Gromm too, as with Alex you're not looking to burst down your opponents.

I don't like the taunt package either, with Goon and Flunky. First one is too slow and has little synergy with the deck. Flunky doesn't pack enough punch I think, and the taunt discovery pool is deep and full of bad Hearthstone cards.

I would consider adding an Execute, seeing as you have decent options to activate it. Siamat can also be an efficient late game option in highlander decks.

He works in duel decks and in libram decks.

Whoever thought turalyon would suck probably don't play paladin.

Duel decks won't work. Libram decks won't want yet another card in the 8/9-mana range.

Whoever thought Tyralyon would suck, was most likely correct. He falls into the "Ysera"-category for me - a decent minion on paper, way too slow in reality.

I think I'd want Escaped Manasaber over Lake Thresher in this list. It's much stronger played from hand, and you're (usually) getting two beasts off of Guardian Animals - making the AoE-attack effect redundant.
